Sonko to Kenyan men: Don’t love your Mpango wakando more than your wife. Balance

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has revealed the secret of having a sidechik and a wife at the same time without having any domestic issues.

Speaking exclusively to men on Instagram, Sonko revealed that he has been married for 21 years and respect is one of the things that has made his wife continue loving him all through these years.

“This the reason why my marriage with the 1st lady of Nairobi has been so successful for the last 21 years. However for your woman to give you this kind of treatment you must love her and give her the respect she deserves,” he posted.

Balance

Sharing a clip of soft-speaking lady talking to her husband, Sonko said that men need to stop loving their Mpango wa Kando more than their wife because it always brings problems.

“Sio kupenda mipango za kando zaidi kushinda ma wives, No, No, just balance the equation and you will never have domestic issues in your marriage as we say ndoa nikuvumiliana. Ni wanaume wangapi hupigiwa simu hivi na wives zao on daily basis na musidanganye?”

Waititu finally responds to Sonko’s claims that they were avid bhang smokers as MPs

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has finally addressed Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s claims that they used to smoke a lot of weed in parliament when they were MPs.

In an interview with Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange, Waititu denied using any drug in his life and said Sonko was just after tarnishing his name.

He’s said Sonko’s accusations were just jokes otherwise if they were don’t by someone else, he would have pressed charges.

“I have never smoked bhang or used any illegal drugs in my life. I know why Sonko said what he said, but I never take him seriously. If the same claims had come from somebody else, I would have sued for defamation,” the governor said.

Seriousness

Waititu asked Sonko to change his image now that he’s a governor and he’s been tasked to lead Nairobi residents. He asked him to be a responsible man and drop the side shows.

“It is very disappointing to hear such words coming from him. He should know he is a leader entrusted with the lives of over 4 million people. It is high time he becomes serious as a leader, not a joker. I sometimes don’t look serious, but I am a respectable parent and a serious person. The days of throwing stones are in the past now,” the Kiambu governor advised.

City pastor Lucy Ngunjiri denies she’s having an affair with Mike Sonko: My husband isn’t mad

City evangelist and a media personality Lucy Wa Ngunjiri has refuted allegations she is dating Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

The popular pastor who has a huge following from Mt Kenya region and is a good friend to Uhuru Kenyatta, said that certain people are after tarnishing her name.

Other than being a pastor, Wa Ngunjiri is also a gospel presenter at Kameme Fm(19 years) and founder of Prayer Beyond Boundaries (PBB) situated in Ngara. She said that fraudster were impersonating her to con her followers.

“How on earth can a person accuse me of such acts, my husband isn’t mad and my family is intact, I am a preacher and my husband is a strong pillar in my ministry and those trying to bring my ministry down by propagating falsehood are defeated in Jesus name,” she said.

A lady called Joyce Wairimu blew everything up when she emailed PBB Ministries requesting to know about the money she had been sending to Wangunjiri, her husband and Governor Sonko. Joyce had sent over Ksh 1 million so far.

“Whenever I would fail to send money, a man purporting to be governor Sonko would send me images of dead people with threatening message to kill my entire family, I had no option but to send,” Joyce claimed.

Threats

They all received over Ksh 1 million and whenever she could fail to send cash, her mother and brother would be threatened by ‘Sonko’ and so Joyce kept on sending the cash which she was told was meant to help Wangunjiri’s family.

Wangunjiri later realized that, Joyce’s brother was now planning to hire a gunman or do anything to eliminate her as she had brought sorrow and agony in their lives.

“That was just a power-bank” Sonko’s team on the spot for giving ‘dubious’ explanation of Sonko brandishing gun

Kenyans were sure they saw a gun, but Governor Mike Sonko’s team wanted them to look closer, because it was nothing close to that.

Sonko’s communications director Elkana Jacob has denied that Sonko was carrying a gun as shown by a photo doing rounds on social media. Jacob stated that the object Kenyans saw in the photos take after the Dusit D2 terror attack, was just a power-bank.

“Have you ever seen a pistol?” he asked. “That object in the governor’s pocket wasn’t a pistol. You would easily know that if you have knowledge of how a pistol looks like. That object was a power bank.”

Brandishing

Kenyans took to social media to complain over Sonko’s “careless” handle of the fire arm. Despite Jacob’s statement that it was powerbank, you can clearly see it was a firearm.

“If anything, the power bank belonged to me, and given I did not have an extra space to carry it in the bag or my pockets, I placed it in the governor’s jacket. I acquired the power bank while on tour in the United States some time back. So, I would confidently confirm to you that Mr Sonko was not brandishing a gun at dusitD2 Hotel,” said Mr Jacob.

Yvonne Okwara goes on a serious Twitter rant after fan questions her statement on matatu ban

Citizen TV anchor Yvonne Okwara yesterday lost her cool and went on a serious Twitter rant after fans questioned her stand in the just suspended matatu ban.

The ban, which was announced by Governor Mike Sonko on Monday, has seen Kenyans trek for kilometers while trying to get to work. Okwara wanted to know what the governor is doing concerning the disabled who were also forced to walk the crazy distance.

She posted the question on Twitter and the answer she got sent her on a long Twitter rant.

“What arrangements have you made for persons with disability with this matatu CBD ban on this International Day of Persons with Disability?” she posed.

Concerns

“Yvonne, please don’t resist change, encourage CS for transport and Railways MD to increase trips on routes with high population such as jogoo road, thika road and Mombasa road,” George Ngaira replied.

She then went ahead to bash the fan who thought she was against the ban, which, has now been lifted by Sonko.

Yvonne replied: “Asking what arrangements have been made for persons with disability is NOT resisting,” and shortly thereafter went on a rant over the exchange.

Blogger Robert Alai asked: “What about the media houses you work in? Any plans to highlight and promote issues of the PWDs? Their buildings are disability friendly?”

Sonko: I don’t hate Kikuyus. All my Mpango wa kandos are Kikuyu

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has come out to state that he doesn’t hate any tribe, especially Kikuyu unlike what some have been speculating.

The governor was responding to rumors that he has sidelined the tribe in his government and frustrating those who are holding powerful offices in the county.

What surprised many though is how Sonko said that it when defending his office. In a rather unexpected turn, the governor, who is married, claimed that he has Mpango wa Kando who are all Kikuyu.

“People say Sonko hates Kikuyu, it’s untrue. I have nominated over 10 Kikuyu MCAS, my wife is a Kikuyu, all my side dishes and in laws are Kikuyu. Even the incoming deputy governor is a Kikuyu,” Sonko said.
