Mike Sonko: Who said i will seek re-election in 2022?

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko will be a one-term governor just like his predecessor Evans Kidero. Sonko recently revealed his plan which will see his legacy last to eternity.

Mike Sonko made it clear he won’t be running for a second term in office come 2022. The governor revealed this when he was asked whether he stood a chance of winning re-election in an interview with Standard.

“I want to leave a legacy because I will not be running for a second term. I have never run for the same office twice in my political life, so why should this be the first time? I will deliver and leave an efficient office for Nairobians then move on to the next assignment for Kenyans,” Mike Sonko said.

Nairobi worst performing county

Sonko also addressed recent report that showed Nairobi was among worst performing counties in Kenya. The governor says he inherited an office crippled by corruption, he asks Nairobians to be patient with him.

“You cannot rate a cosmopolitan county like Nairobi with a provincial county within 100 days. We don’t even receive the same sharable revenue within those days.

“There are so much we have achieved since taking office, including increasing and streamlining revenue collection, curbing corruption and now we are closing in on the city cartels that I inherited from my predecessor who have messed this city.

“Furthermore, we have also managed to pay off a bank overdraft of close to Sh1 billion accrued from the previous administration and are able to pay our staff salaries directly, which has seen the end of the constant downing of tools by county staff. Very soon, Nairobians will see the effects of these milestones,” said Sonko.

Sonko with his PR ranked among worst performing governors in Kenya

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is performing impressively well on social media but not so many people are feeling his impact on the ground.

Interestingly governors who don’t engage in PR activities are performing better. A survey by Polls Kenya shows Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana, Kirinyaga’s Anne Waiguru and Kisumu’s Anyang’ Nyong’o respectively have the highest approval ratings.

The poll was conducted to assess governors’ performance in the first 100 days in office. Nairobi and Mombasa counties lead with bottom performing governors.

Underperforming governors

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko came only second to Homa Bay’s Cyprian Awiti who has the highest disapproval rating. Sonko together with his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho lead in PR on social media.

Joho was ranked third among governors with highest disapproval rating.  Other counties that underperforming governors include Kiambu, Isiolo, Garissa and Siaya.

“Shoga wangu kuja tusaidiane lete matako yako” Sonko causes a stir as he replies to a critic using vulgar words

Mike Sonko is known for using very offensive words especially in political rallies. The Nairobi governor used unrefined words to hit back at a critic who rubbed him the wrong way.

Sonko keeps on getting in trouble over stupid mistakes. The governor was recently condemned when he exposed private messages on social media that he had with his deputy Polycarp Igathe.

Sonko decided to share the screenshots of the conversation after a local daily alleged that his relationship with his deputy was frosty.

Critic is shut down

The Nairobi governor was at it again when he used vulgar words to shut down a critic on social media. The detractor had asked Sonko to stop social media show off and focus on his work as Nairobi governor.

“You are “too available” in social media. You are the Governor. Kalia kiti na matako mbili na ufanye kazi. Kiherehere ya social media achia akina Nyakundis and Alais,” a certain John Messa commented on Sonko’s post.

“Noted Boss. But i believe in teamwork SHOGA wangu kuja tusaidiane lete matako yako moja nyeusi na mimi nilete yangu. Wewe ukalie kiti na tako moja jeusi nami nikalie na langu normal nakazi iendele. Hahaha xmass joke of the year,” Mike Sonko replied to John Messa.

Babu Owino vows to take action as Nasa supporters blame Sonko for dumping human feces at Jacaranda grounds to stop Nasa rally

Apparently 13 lorries dumped human feces at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi early Tuesday morning before the planned Nasa rally.

Nasa supporters claim Sonko sent Nairobi city county trucks with the human waste. Nasarites say the move was meant to scare them from attending a planned rally at Jacaranda.

I will re-dump the feces at City Hall

Babu Owino has vowed to take action if Sonko doesn’t collect the human feces he allegedly dumped at Jacaranda ground.

police keep guard at Jacaranda grounds

The Embakasi East MP affirms that city county’s lorries dumped the feces at his constituency. Babu threatens to re-dump the human waste at City Hall if Sonko doesn’t remove it.

“@MikeSonko should come and collect the 15 lorries of feaces which was dumped on Jacaranda grounds using Nairobi County Trucks yesterday ASAP failure to which I will lead the affected Embakasi East constituents living around Jacaranda grounds in redumping the feaces at City Hall,” Babu Owino tweeted on Wednesday November 29th.

“I don’t have water! Sonko snubs William Kabogo after he alerts him about dry taps at his home

Apparently the rich are also affected by water shortage in Nairobi. Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has been without water at his home for three months.

Water crisis in the city is widely thought to affect poor neighborhoods alone. Kabogo highlighted the situation in Windsor area in a tweet on Sunday November 19th.

Get water at our area

The former Kiambu governor says water has not been flowing into his house for the last three months. He was replying to Mike Sonko’s tweet in which the Nairobi governor was assuring city residents of smooth service delivery.

Kabogo protests about water shortage saying that they are also paying tax like any other Kenyan. He reminds Sonko that he stays in Windsor just in case he has forgotten.

“Ndugu. Get us water to our area. We also pay taxes. We’ve not had water for 3 months. Windsor in case you e forgotten,” William Kabogo tweeted.

Sonko however doesn’t reply to Kabogo’s tweet. Guess the former Kiambu governor is no longer a big fish.

Nairobi Governor Mike is proud to announce that his team has come out to help a little girl in need of eye surgery. Through his social media pages the governor narrated how the 1 year old’s case came to his attention.

A case of baby Kyla aged 1 Year 4 Months who requires an urgent eye surgery in India was drawn to my attention by her mother Linda who is a resident of Kasarani Constituency. I met Linda at Club 40 in Westlands where she is an employee. While in the company of some MPs and other leaders, Linda came to me crying that I was the only one who could help her. She shared with me her problems on how to raise funds to take her baby to India for eye surgery. I was touched and volunteered to support her.

However, yesterday on 15th Kayla’s parents met up with Mike Sonko who carted for their daughter’s surgery scheduled to take place soon.

Today she paid me a visit at my office and I undertook to cater for baby kyla medical bills for the operation in India. According to Dr. Fayaz A Khan, Chief Ophthalmologist at Lions Sightfirst Eye Hospital, Baby Kyla was born at full term through caesarean section.

According to the Doctor, on examination, both eyes were noted to be white and there was no demarcation line between the sclera and the anterior segment. Baby Kyla is now set for cornea transplant in India courtesy of Sonko Rescue Team. I appeal to all well wishers to support Baby Kyla through

5 alarming photos that make governor Sonko look worse than Kidero

Mike Sonko was elected because Nairobians were tired of runaway corruption and slow infrastructural development in Kidero’s administration.

The problems city dwellers were grumbling about in Kidero’s administration are still bedeviling Nairobians to date. Heavy rain that is pounding the capital continue to wreak havoc in Nairobi.

Scenes of flooded roads, stagnant water, clogged drainage system, potholes in the city have raised concern. People are wondering when Sonko’s administration will act.

Nairobians taunt Sonko

A city resident decided to go fishing in the streets of Nairobi in a bid to expose pothole menace in the CBD. Patrick Ngugi (@ThePatrickNgugi) shared photos of himself fishing on Biashara Street and Moi Avenue where there were potholes and stagnant water.

“Good Morning from the city of Potholes and clogged drainage system. @UsafiriApp @KenyanTraffic,” Patrick Ngugi tweeted.

10 photos of hawker infestation of Nairobi CBD that make Nairobians miss Kidero

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko allowed hawkers to ply their trade within the Central Business District (CBD). Sonko’s directive allows hawkers to operate in the CBD from 2pm.

Hawkers have now taken over pedestrian walkways and all empty space in the CBD. Kenya Archives in particular is a hot spot for hawkers.

Hygiene has now become a major challenge as hawkers throw garbage all over the CBD. Street children, beggars and pickpockets have also flocked into the CBD.

Nairobians protest

Nairobians have been grumbling on social media about how standards have deteriorated in the CBD. The CBD has been reduced one big open-air market.

10 photos of Sandra Mbuvi’s boyfriend who has just died

Mike Sonko’s second born daughter Sandra Mbuvi has lost her boyfriend. The deceased’s death was announced by the governor’s eldest daughter Saumu Mbuvi.

Sandra Mbuvi introduced Ian Ndemange Kiio as her boyfriend in March 2015. Sandra uploaded a series of romantic photos with her boyfriend on Instagram before she deleted her account later on.

“You know you’ve found your soul mate and bestfriend, when you’re having a bad day and just want to be in their arms so that they can shield out all the bad in the world…me love this monkey too much♥,” Salma captioned the photo she had taken with her boyfriend.

Ian passed on a few days ago, it’s not clear what caused his untimely death. Saumu Mbuvi announced the death of her sister’s boyfriend on her Instagram handle.

Governor Mike Sonko’s photo before the money and fame, his life is a living testimony

Governor Mike Sonko back in the day had nothing and I mean nothing. He was just another struggling man in Kenya trying to make ends meet for his family. But just like most celebrities we have heard of, he made sure to work hard and this is how he became the man he is today.

Just recently through his Facebook page the Nairobi Governor shared an old photo showing his followers where he started from. The photo which was taken in Mombasa shows a skinny Mike Sonko with over sized clothes and big shoes as a testimony that life can change when you put enough efforts in what you do.

According to him, he always made sure to move from one area to another looking for a job and almost 20 years later he is now living the life he had always dreamt of. He can now give his young family some of the things he did not get when he was young and for some reason he has not given up on helping fellow Kenyans since he says he also got help to get where he is today.

In case you had given up on life, check out Mike Sonko’s below and use it as a testimony that no situation in life is permanent.

On Saturday October 28th Mike Sonko gave an update on the recovery operation at Lake Nakuru. The Nairobi governor sent his own divers to retrieve the body of his friend John Mapozi.

In the update, Sonko says that the plane wreckage has not even been traced. He reveals that divers’ mission has been hindered by poor visibility in the lake.

The search operation at Lake Nakuru

“Updates on Chopper Crash Incident in Lake Nakuru . The search and recovery operation is still on going as planned. The National Disaster Operation Centre (NDOC ) is on site and coordinating the Multi-Agency operation. Unfortunately the number of dead bodies recovered remains Two (2), the rest of the people and the aircraft are still missing. We appeal for calm as the operation is still on going. Safety for everyone is paramount as operation in the lake is delicate.

“Some of the challenges being encountered by Search and Rescue Teams are Poor visibility in the lake due dirty water, wide search area, presence of wild animals, weather among others,” wrote Sonko.

Divers hit by typhoid

Divers prepare for search operation at Lake Nakuru

Several divers involved in the search operation in Lake Nakuru have reportedly fallen sick. The divers are said to be plagued by typhoid and malaria.

Divers are said to have been complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea. They are reported to be suffering from typhoid due to contamination of the lake by sewerage. The lake is full of plastic bags, pieces of cloth and bottles.

Victims’ relatives camp at the lake

Relatives of the victims who perished in the helicopter crash are camping at the lake waiting for any good news from divers.

John Mapozi’s mother was on Tuesday seen gazing at the lake in agony. She looked at the lake for several minutes before retreating to the waiting tent.

Sonko sends special divers to Lake Nakuru to retrieve the body of his friend Mapozi John

5 people perished when helicopter crashed into Lake Nakuru on Saturday October 21st. Sonko’s friend Mapozi John was among those who in the accident.

“I am deeply saddened by the death of five young Kenyans this morning arising from the Lake Nakuru helicopter accident that has left the nation in shock.I was personally known to Captain Apollo Malowa who has flown me on many occasions, a truly dedicated serviceman who served this great nation selflessly.

“Mapozi John and Sam Gitau have been personal friends for a long time, and were true patriots and dedicated servants of the people. They were not only ardent supporters of President Uhuru Kenyatta and myself, but also worked tirelessly in the last and the ongoing campaigns. Mapozi John was looking forward to meeting me today for the ongoing presidential campaigns at Kajiado and Narok. However, God had another plan over his life.

Mike Sonko and Mapozi John (second on right)

“Indeed the demise of Anthony Kipkoskei and Venorica is a big blow to their families, friends, the Jubilee family and Kenya as a whole,” Sonko wrote after receiving news about the crash.

Only three bodies of the five on board the ill-fated chopper had been recovered by Monday afternoon. The two intact bodies recovered were those of Anthony Kipyegon and pilot Apollo Malowa. The third body had been mutilated and could not be immediately identified.

“Sonko Special Divers Team is currently at Lake Nakuru to help retrieve the bodies of the victims of fatal helicopter crash, so far two bodies have been pulled out from the lake, both males.I trust this team and they have assured me they won’t end their operation without recovering my Friend Mapozi John and the rest….May God Bless You,” wrote Sonko.

“Sonko has a fake diploma in mortuary attendance” Even in oppression Babu Owino manages to fire back at Sonko

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko called Babu Owino ‘shoga’ and ‘mbwa’ and also said other unpalatable words about the Embakasi East MP. Babu has since hit back at the Nairobi county boss.

Kenyans on Twitter expressed disappointment with Mike Sonko and called for his arrest after a video of him referring to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as ‘shoga’ and ‘mbwa’ emerged.

Sonko savagely attacked Babu Owino during campaigns for president Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday September 27th. Sonko said Jubilee had mafias who could deal with the Embakasi East MP.

Babu refused to engage the Nairobi governor terming him as an academic dwarf who forged his diploma; the Embakasi East MP posted his response on his Facebook page.

“I will not stoop low to engage one Mike Sonko who has a FAKE diploma certificate in Mortuary attendance. I have more serious issues to deal with #NoReformsNoElections” Wrote Babu Owino.

Mike Sonko orchestrates trap to bust Highridge chief after complaints from Indian family (Photos)

Highridge chief was disgraced after he fell for a trap laid for him by Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission (EACC) following complaints from an Indian family.

The Indian family of Mohan Singh Dhanjal and Satwant Singh Dhanjal contacted Sonko seeking help, cartels colluding with local administration wanted to seize their property.

The Dhanjals told Sonko that they reported the matter to the area chief but surprisingly the chief demanded bribe to offer them protection.

Highridge chief after he was busted taking bribe

“I received a text from the families of Mohan Singh Dhanjal and Satwant Singh Dhanjal requesting to meet me urgently over a sensitive matter. Being a Sunday, I called them for a meeting. They narrated to me about two of their family properties that they have occupied since 1974. Sadly, they have been living under constant threats lately from cartels who want to grab their land. They had reported the matter to the area chief who had proven to be uncooperative. The chief had ordered them to deposit with him the original Title Deed by 10:00am today, allegedly over a debt against the title of Ksh.350,000. Strangely, the family has never borrowed against the Title, neither have they ever guaranteed a loan,” Sonko wrote in part.

EACC officers inspects the money that the chief took as bribe

The Nairobi governor advised the Dhanjals to report the matter to EACC who laid a trap to bust the corrupt Highridge chief.

“I advised them to report the matter this morning to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC), who provided officers to accompany them to meet the chief. Upon arrival, the chief demanded that the family gives him and the area DO Ksh.30,000 for “protection.” The EACC officers swiftly swung into action and arrested the chief, who is currently being held at Kilimani Police Station awaiting to be presented in court,” wrote Sonko.

Sonko vowed to step up the fight against cartels who used to enjoy the protection and support of previous governments and administrations.

“As I promised, the days of the cartels who have been tormenting and defrauding honest, hardworking Kenyans came to an end the day I assumed office.”

“Your passing left pain beyond measure” Sonko celebrates his late dad in emotional post

Sonko’s father Gideon Kioko Kivanguli passed on two years ago at Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted in the ICU following a short illness.

The deceased was buried in his rural home at Mua Hills in Machakos County. Sonko constructed a mausoleum to house his dad’s grave.

Friends and family yesterday September 6th gathered at Sonko family mausoleum for a special prayer to mark the second anniversary since the passing of Mzee Kivaguli.

Nairobi governor eulogized his late dad in an emotional post on social media;

“Exactly two years ago today, you slid quietly into eternity. Time stood still but it can never erase your presence in our lives. Death may end life but not a relationship. We remember you as a wonderful gift from God, our pillar of strength. We deeply cherish your memories of love, dedication, kindness, wisdom and generosity which will remain our guiding light.

“You still are in our hearts, your memories linger, sweetly, tenderly, fondly and truly. We miss you dearly. Your amazing life was a blessing to us; the memory of your deeds a treasure, your passing left a void beyond words and your absence a pain beyond measure. Although physically gone, you have always been a thought away from us. God be with you till we meet again. May the Almighty rest your soul in eternal peace,” wrote Sonko.

With president uhuru and his deputy at Uhuru Park, security was tight as usual. The VIP section was under the watchful eyes of the president’s security detail, no commoner was allowed near.

But guess who made it to the VIP section? Githeri man himself (Martin Kamotho) was on the VIP section dressed in the same clothes he was seen in his viral photo.

Sonko’s powerful message as he promises to create new job opportunities for women, youths and persons living with disabilities

Mike Sonko has finally been sworn into office and is now Nairobi’s new governor. His inauguration took place at Uhuru park attracting hundreds of supporters who could not miss this special celebrations.

Mike Sonko

Through his Instagram page the now Nairobi governor wrote a thanks giving message thanking everyone for supporting him all through out and went on to promise that he will create new job opportunities for women, youths and people living with disabilities.

Mike Sonko

In his long post he said;

Nairobi will never be the same again from today. I shall work around the clock to guarantee efficient and timely services for all our residents. My new administration will put in place an elaborate plan to clean up the mess that has been left behind by the outgoing county government, while ensuring that every resident shall get value for their money as taxpayers. In my government, the garbage menace shall become history as we have already demonstrated in the ongoing “Operation Ng’arisha Jiji.”This auspicious day marks the end of the cartels that have held the people of Nairobi hostage for many years.
Land grabbing and forceful evictions of our people without following due process will be a thing of the past.

He went on to add;

Mike Sonko

There shall be enough water for all residents. We shall build enough markets for our small scale traders and review licenses to enhance ease of doing business. We shall support our youth, women and persons living with disabilities to start and grow their businesses, while creating employment opportunities. We shall seal all loopholes to suffocate the thieves who have been stealing our revenues. We shall build new and equip existing health facilities to guarantee our citizens of first class health services. We shall make Nairobi the preferred destination for all local and foreign investors and tourists. Because we deserve the best, and we shall become the best. Under my administration, Nairobi shall shine again as the face and gateway to Africa.

I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your continued support and goodwill, and invite you to partner with me in restoring the lost glory of Nairobi, and make it the “Green City in the Sun” again. As Nelson Mandela once said, “It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger or work. Then people will appreciate your leadership.” God bless you all. God bless Kenya. Ahsanteni sana. Twendeni kazi wazalendo wenzangu.

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko deploys hundreds of Youths to clean up Nairobi City (Photos)

Mike Sonko seems to be on a roll as he has started cleaning Kenya’s capital city as he aims to make Nairobi the cleanest city in Africa.

From the photos shared on his social media pages, his Sonko rescue team which is made up of young people is seen scrapping off posters from walls while others clean heaps of garbage from the streets.

This comes after he swore to ensure Nairobi gets the service it deserves and now he has already cleaned up the Wakulima Market, City Primary, Kasarani areas and parts of Ngara.

So far today is their 4th day and according to Sonko this is just the beginning of his projects that will soon be launched by his team.

Checkout the photos below;

Warning shots fired: Mike Sonko spells doom for City Hall tenderpreneurs ahead of his inauguration

Mike Sonko has made it clear that it won’t be business as usual at City Hall from the very day that he assumes office. The Nairobi governor-elect has already started talking action.

Mike Sonko turned down Kes 25 million set aside for his inauguration ceremony. Sonko instead ordered that the money should be directed to payment of county staff within 48 hours to avert planned strike by the workers over the nonpayment.

The Nairobi governor-elect has also cautioned City Hall tenderpreneurs. In a public notice, Sonko said once he is sworn in he will put in place elaborate process that will ensure genuine contractors and suppliers.

Sonko said this after it emerged that individuals purporting to be working for City Hall were soliciting bribes from contractors and suppliers to influence speedy processing of pending payments.

The flamboyant politician further warned City Hall cartels to keep off before the long arm of the government gets hold of them.

“Sonko remains functionally illiterate convicted drug dealer” Miguna Miguna takes final dig at Sonko

Miguna Miguna has categorically stated that he will NEVER recognize Mike Sonko as his governor. He said Nairobians have elected a convicted drug dealer and a looter.

IEBC interim results show that Mike Sonko is leading incumbent Evans Kidero with over 167,500 votes in 3251 out of 3378 polling stations; Sonko 838,858 (53.52%), Kidero 671,270 (42.83%).

With these results so far, Mike Sonko is only a step closer to become Nairobi’s second governor. The prospect of Sonko becoming the next boss of Nairobi is a bitter pill for Miguna Miguna to swallow.

Miguna took to twitter to throw tantrums at the Nairobi governor-elect; he compared Sonko to other dictators including Adolf Hitler warning that Sonko wouldn’t transform Nairobi.

Sonko forced to explain why his running mate Polycarp Igathe never wears Jubilee t-shirts

Mike Sonko always wears Jubilee t-shirts and caps whenever he is on the campaign trail but his running mate Polycarp Igathe is rarely seen in Jubilee ensemble.

The flamboyant Nairobi senator brought on board a technocrat (Igathe) to assist him in managing Nairobi county as he deals with politics of the day should he win Nairobi gubernatorial seat on August 8th.

Igathe still maintains his classy dressing style (suits) and it’s evident that he’s finding it hard to fit in casual attires like Jubilee branded t-shirts.

Sonko and Igathe being prayed for

A concerned tweep asked Mike Sonko why his running mate doesn’t like wearing Jubilee branded t-shirts and the Nairobi Senator had an interesting explanation.

Apparently Sonko and Igathe had an agreement that his deputy should rock official attire while he wears casual clothes and vice versa.

Caroline Mutoko listed among cabinet appointees in Mike Sonko’s Nairobi County government

A list of cabinet appointees in Mike Sonko’s Nairobi County government has been making rounds on social media in the past few days.

The list shows that Caroline Mutoko has been selected for Urban Planning docket in the event that Mike Sonko trounces Evans Kidero in the forthcoming August 8th election.

Caroline Mutoko

Other prominent people in Mike Sonko’s cabinet include Bruce Odhiambo (Trade Industry and Tourism executive), Millicent Omanga (Public Services executive), Billy Arocho (Security and Compliance executive) former KFF boss Sam Nyamweya (Finance, Economic and Planning executive), among others.

Mike Sonko has however rubbished the list claiming that it was created and circulated by people who had lazy imagination. He issued a statement in regard to the same:

STATEMENT ON THE FAKE LIST OF COUNTY GOVERNMENT LINEUP CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA:

My attention has been drawn to a list circulating on social media purporting to give names of people who shall serve in my administration as the next Nairobi City County governor.

Clearly, it is a lazy imagination by my political detractors who are shamelessly out to confuse my supporters and the good people of Nairobi.

The architects of the same seem to completely lack creativity, and correct understanding of the people of, and challenges facing, Nairobi.

As I have stated before, I remain committed to ensuring Nairobi’s next government is all-inclusive and representative not only to reflect the face of Kenya, but also the cosmopolitan nature of Nairobi and the many special interest groups as demanded by the Constitution.

I urge all my supporters and the people of Nairobi to treat this latest propaganda with the contempt it deserves, and focus on our journey to liberate the city from the corrupt cartels that have panicked and resorted to deploying unorthodox tactics to cause unnecessary tension and anxiety.

I wish to thank all the people of Nairobi for the great faith they have continued to have in me, and their overwhelming decision to elect me as their next Governor. I am humbled, and forever indebted to you all.

God bless the people of Nairobi. God bless Kenya.

Sen. Mike Sonko

Incoming Governor, Nairobi County

Sonko ruthlessly tears journalist apart during a press conference (Video)

Mike Sonko has no chills, the Nairobi Senator pulled a Miguna Miguna on a journalist during a press conference at a Nairobi hotel.

Sonko and his running mate Polycarp Igathe held a press conference at Nairobi Safari Club last week where they explained their manifesto to journalist.

The flamboyant Nairobi Senator took issues with a journalist who asked him about cabbage collection and disposal in Nairobi. He was not pleased with how the journalist framed the question so he ended up intimidating him.

“You have also been accused of other things, and it scares me…and you intimidate me in front of your fans, that scares me,” The journalist told Sonko.

Sonko lost his cool and fired back, he told the journalist that he wouldn’t kill him stating that Kidero was the murder.

“All the journalists are my friend, mimi sina uadui na majournalists, your friend (Kidero) ndo he is a murderer, yeye ndo anaua watu, mimi siui watu. So uliza swali yako pole pole bila hasira, ukiuliza na hasira naweza kosa kuijibu,” Sonko told the journalist.

Saumu Mbuvi’s message after her dad was pounded like cassava flour in Nairobi gubernatorial debate

Nairobi gubernatorial debate was interesting to watch, of course Miguna Miguna came on top and Sonko performed poorly because he couldn’t express himself fluently and coherently in English.

Miguna Miguna made mincemeat of his competitors during the debate, the former PM aide crashed his opponents as he distinguished himself as the only candidate with integrity and competence.

Sonko was not very lucky competing with academic giants – Miguna Miguna, Evans Kidero and Peter Kenneth, the Nairobi Senator was intimidated with his rivals who spoke fluent English and articulated themselves better; Sonko resorted to answering questions in Swahili.

Sonko’s daughter Saumu Mbuvi took to social media after the debate to urge the youth not to be fooled by her dad’s opponents who had great command of the Queen’s language. Saumu reminded people that her dad was the better option for Nairobians.

“To My fellow Youths , Lets not be blinded by men in suits with imported English .We are the future and we need a leader who stands with us by all times. We need a leader who fights for us ,understands us and Moreso walks with us.Mike Sonko has been the only leader providing employment for the youths wengine walikua wapi ??…Sonko has been for us and forever with us,” wrote Saumu Mbuvi.
