Why Sanaipei Tande is busy telling the world about her younger dating days

Sanaipei Tande has been going around telling whoever will listen about her dating options when she was younger -there is no one in her life currently trying to pursue her like they used to.

Sanaipei Tande reveals why she will never collaborate with Willy Paul

Well, that might not entirely be accurate because I have seen the way Kenyan men’s standards are at the basement but one thing is certain, she is reliving the highs her younger dating days had given her.

Back in the day, Sanaipei Tande was among the hottest, most sort after ladies in Kenya. She was dating Esir’s cousin, Andrew Manga and they were a very mismatched couple. On the one hand, she was a very talented artist with the world in the palm of her hands while he was a middling rapper whose only true claim to fame was the fact that the late Esir had put him up on game.

She was tall and hot. He was short and though he was handsome and from a well off family, he wasn’t exactly the most hardworking artist. You could tell she wanted to make a name for herself but he was literally making music for shits and giggles.

Sanaipei went on to feature on some amazing duets and collabos but her solo career never really took off. Why that is does not interest me for today’s topic. Why we are discussing her is that she is talking about her younger days -the good all days when men were busy throwing themselves at her.

Otile Brown’s ‘Love’ letter to Sanaipei Tande turns heads

There was a time when she was the hottest cake on the shelf and every bachelor (let’s face it, even married men) were trying to get with her but to no avail. She seemed like the elusive catch that though many coveted, only one managed to have wrangled -Andrew Manga.

While at the time there was no real way of knowing whether or not it was a decision that would pay off, time has proven that her decision on who to date was a terrible one. He was the type of manchild who refused to leave his father’s house in Nyari for the longest time and this is a huge indicator of just how serious a man is. She should have been on high alert about this.

Then as time went on, she finally decided to leave the relationship. Sanaipei Tande was finally a free woman. However, as happens with a lot of pretty young things, she began putting on weight and gravity was taking its toll.

Sanaipei Tande was a hotty in her heyday

But in came Maina Kageni. He wanted her to have a baby for him. His baby. This came as a shocker because a lot of people were unsure as to whether or not this was a stunt given the rumours about his proclivities and orienta… Just rumours really.

Sanaipei Tande for her part did not seem to have taken the offer seriously even if he had promised to make her a housewife with a healthy stipend. Whether or not this is a smart decision on her part remains to be seen but I suspect she is regretting it because of how much she is rehashing and retelling this story years after she originally spoke about it.

She is also reminiscing about the men who were blowing up her social media offering her gifts for the chance to have her hand in marriage because those offers have dried up and she was caught unawares. And I suspect she is regretting not having agreed to settle down with one of her many suitors. She is currently aware that the calibre of her admirers is quickly declining as her sexual marketplace and especially her dating marketplace value plummets.’

6 year dry spell? This is why Sanaipei Tande is yet to find a boyfriend six years after breaking up with Andrew Manga

There is a lesson there for young celebrities. Many of Kenya’s celebrities only ever settle down once they are no longer spring chicken -or, alternatively, they simply become jaded single mothers constantly whining and crying about how Kenyan men are deadbeat dads.

I do not envy Sanaipei Tande, a star who knows her best days are long behind her and she can no longer attract the type of men who used to excite her and she has no one to blame but herself.

Maina Kageni: The relationship guru who doesn’t take his own advice

Maina Kageni is the worst type of relationship guru: one who doesn’t follow his own advice. He is a very successful Kenyan version of Derrick Jaxn who made his entire schtick on radio about him giving relationship advice that is usually so lopsided, only women actually take it seriously.

Infact, he has become such a success at what he does with his Classic 105 FM show, Maina and King’ang’i In The Morning that he has become a popular meme that goes, “Maina let me tell you” which precedes some relationship drivel that often either paints men negatively or women positively in a comically lopsided manner.

He recently had an interview with his colleague Jalang’o on the latter’s YouTube channel and what he revealed said allot about why I wouldn’t advise anyone to take his advice: spoiler alert, he is not advising people to do what he does.

But Maina Kageni’s do as I say and not as I do schtick is actually very interesting because it gives you an understanding of just how terribly women want to be lied to. What do I mean by that? Well let us start by looking at his statement about him not being married because he values his freedom.

maina kageni
Classic 105’s Maina kageni

“When you listen to my show everyday, it’s scary sometimes because you hear a lot of stuff. And I’ve heard it for years and years. But it’s taught me one thing; sometimes marriage is not for everyone… And then mi mtu wa freedom… What you do is you take your time”

So basically, the man who usually advises women to crowd out their men is saying that he wouldn’t put himself in that situation because he is too attached to his freedom. Imagine that Freedoms are considered fundamental human rights by the UN but when this radio jockey is giving advice to a woman who wants to completely deny her husband some space to breathe, he cheers on this toxic behaviour and other women apply that nonsense advise in their own marriages.

Another thing that has to be interrogated is the fact that he often tells women to go for men with money or he to a large extent celebrates women who insist their men uphold the old social contract where they must provide and protect then he goes on to say that modern marriages are akin to two people being yolked unequally.

maina kageni
Maina Kageni

Maina Kageni in essence admitted that men suffer when they become husbands because they have to provide above and beyond bare comforts for their spouses yet these same wives are busy accumulating wealth and not playing for the team. So while one party is breaking his back to provide for his wife and children, the other party is stacking up her money to use on herself and her children.

Wewe ndo utajimaliza, coz what married people do is to try and keep u and impress. You try and do crazy, out of this world things that you think she will remember forever, that’s how you kill yourself.

In essence, Maina Kageni knows that his advice is misplaced if indeed he is trying to help couples actually win at marriage and raise balanced children. How is this the man Kenyan women uphold as the saviour of their marriages unless they are truly trying to finesse their partners? And what’s worse is that this template of radio will never change until people reject the lazy notion that they can walk through life without taking responsibility for their decisions.

Maina Kageni is right, Kenyan women do not invest in their husbands

On the rare occasions that I am in my parent’s car early in the morning, my mother opts to listen to Maina and King’ang’i In The Morning much to my chagrin. And today I got to listen to the topic of discussion:

And this was an interesting topic of conversation because it shows a schism between generations in Kenya. My mother was adamant that this is a none issue for any woman who is focused on being a wife and mother. According to her, it is a no brainer. You will invest in your husband because you know that first, life is made up of ups and downs and second that this is the only way for a family to remain strong and intact.

I informed her that this is not the case for my generation nor the generations immediately ahead of mine. By that, I mean people who are 25-34 and the generation of people immediately ahead of that.

“He is my father!” Maina Kageni exposes unknown relationship with Citizen TV founder SK Macharia

Maina Kageni seemed shocked by the responses he got that indicate I am telling the truth. Women seem to have been raised with the idea that what is theirs is theirs but what is their husbands is also theirs. In essence, men have been reduced to the primal understanding of providence.

Maina Kageni
Classic 105 presenter, Maina Kageni usually has discussions around relationships

As a result of this thought process, you have some rather unstable marriages in which the wives and husbands view each other as enemies. And when people begun defending their stance, alot of blame was thrown around with very little responsibility for the situation being assumed by anyone. This only further grounded my belief that men and women are indeed marrying their enemies or perhaps they eventually shift from being lovers to being enemies.

Maina Kageni discloses why he might never marry!

But the thing Maina Kageni’s topic doesn’t really elucidate on is the fact that families are like teams. If one player is playing against the interests of the greater team, then that will ruin them.

Maina Kageni
Maina Kageni

Men are indeed meant to be providers and protectors. But women have appended their side of the traditional social contract. They want not to be held to their end of being nurturers. I will accede that times have changed so we too need to evolve the marital contract but it cannot be to the benefit of only one party.

I remember telling Sanaipei I don’t want to commit, but please have a baby for me – Maina Kageni confesses

That is actually why the world over, marital rates are plummeting with this especially being of concern in America.

And with the advent of and en mass embracing of online dating and hookup culture, the numbers will only continue to drop as more and more men begin to view marriage not just pessimistically but nihilistically. Why bother yoke yourself to a partner who refuses to build wealth with you but prefers to remain a burden even when it is unnecessary? Why not just build on your own slowly and enjoy the bachelor lifestyle?

Maina Kageni, Mwalimu King’ang’i raise important labour laws questions

Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i have raised some important questions on Kenya’s labour laws which do not seem to respect the Kenyan worker.

Mwalimu Churchill publicly declares how he prefers to get fired after ugly K24 saga

And the subject matter that they focused on was the manner in which K24 decided to fire it’s employees after management had occasioned and fostered ill-will towards them and the company, culminating at one point in legal action being sort by the employees to protect themselves.

churchill aka mwalimu king'ang'i

This had been occasioned by K24’s decision to backdate a 50 per cent pay cut. Former K24 employees moved to court to stop this and actually won that exact desired measure only for them to receive an SMS notifying them of their retrenchment.

“Congratulations!” Mwanaisha Chidzuga seemingly mocks K24 employees fired through night SMS

The day you decide to fire me, don´t send me an SMS, I can even be driving or doing something that might cause an accident. Let´s get this straight, you don´t do that sh*t to me. Call me for a drink and when I am high, drop the news. Some things can kill you.

And Maina Kageni chimed in saying,

maina kageni

Shame on you, how can you do that? How can you ask someone to meet you at a certain hotel and then drop such news?

The reason why the conversation Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i is bigger than they know is that this conversation shone a spotlight on the manner in which Kenyan employees are at the mercy of their employers.

K24 unveils new faces taking over the newsroom after firing its entire old team (Video)

While it is true that the macro-economic situations brought about by Covid-19 have trickled down and adversely affected Kenyan businesses, it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to deny employees basic dignity.

mwalimu king'ang'i aka churchill

Aside from what Mwalimu Kinga’ang’i highlighted regarding the circumstances one might find themselves after being sacked via SMS, one has to wonder whether K24 and Mediamax will be able to rebuild a workforce consistently seeking to turn around the company’s fortunes especially after they have witnessed how the old guard were unceremoniously ejected.

The conversation between Main Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i also raised a question on whether the government actually cares about the wellbeing of Kenyans outside of their clear gluttony for taxation. And it is of special interest that Media Max is held in majority by Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family.

Covid-19 has introduced us all to a cowardly new world and it remains to be seen whether the conversation between Maina and King’ang’i will spark a change in thinking within Kenya’s
