Lulu Hassan couldn’t hold back her tears when Kanze Dena finally left Citizen TV after landing the State House job. The two developed a close working relationship after co-hosting Swahili news for years.
On Wednesday June 20th Kanze Dena addressed the media for the first time since she was appointed State House Deputy Spokesperson.
The former Citizen TV news anchor gave a briefing in Kiswahili on president Uhuru Kenyatta’s diary for this week. Lulu Hassan tuned on KBC to watched Kanze Dena address the media in her maiden State House press briefing.
Total bliss

Lulu replied saying it was indeed a joyous moment for her watching her BFF hold her first State House briefing.
Kanze Dena finally bid her fans goodbye on Sunday June 10th when she anchored her final news bulletin on Citizen TV. She recently landed a plum government job.
Kanze Dena left Citizen TV to join State House communication team. She was appointed deputy head of the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU) on June 5th.
The 39-year-old Kanze developed a close working relationship with Lulu Hassan whom she has been co-hosting Swahili news with for years.
Tears of joy
It’s was such an emotional farewell as both Kanze Dena and Lulu Hassan couldn’t hold back tears. Lulu really struggled to remain calm as Kanze talked on camera.

Lulu Hassan is grateful to the almighty after undergoing a surgery to remove a plate that was put on her left femur to support her posture following a road accident that happened back in 2010.
The news anchor revealed this through her Instagram page where she narrated her untold story or the first time. In a lengthy text, Lulu Hassan wrote;
April 19th 2010..I remember this day like it was yesterday…I was going for an assignment in Kisumu but on reaching kapkatet it all happened so fast…i found myself at the siloam hospital in Kericho first aid was being administered.. Next thing I knew I was in the ambulance on my way to Nairobi for an emergency theatre at the Agakhan Hospital .
She went on to reveal the effects she underwent and why she even thought that she was never going to walk again. Lulu went on to add,
The next few months would be tough. If you would have asked me then if I thought I would be able to walk or be on my feet again, I wouldn’t have imagine that was possible. But; Alhamdullilah !!! It’s been 7 years walking with a plate on my left femur…On the 30th October,2017 i finally gathered the courage to walk into theatre for a surgery to remove it …i had been relying on this Aluminium plate for the last 7 years after the accident in 2010…. 7 years that saw my walking style and body posture change completely thus affecting my back and work not forgetting the excruciating pain i woud have to endure whenever i wanted to lie down…Alhamdullilah after the Monday surgery; the plate is out…i would like to donate the plate to any elderly patient who may need it and cannot afford it ..hit my inbox.
However now that the plate has been removed, the mother of two will not be on air for a while since she will need some bed rest. She concluded by adding;
I will be in bed for some time to recuperate. I would like to thank my family , friends, my boss who constantly reminded me that i needed to do something…Dr Thuranira i dont know how to thank you but you made me have faith with our medical practitioners and introduced me to one Doctor Mogire (He is God sent)…… ..To anyone going through a tough time now… Be encouraged. It shall pass. ..
It’s been years now since former Kenyan boxer Conjestina fell ill forcing her to get admitted at the Mathari mental hospital back in 2012 before her relatives moved her back to the village.
Well, last year she was again admitted to the hospital and after a month Conjestina was discharged and moved back to live with her mother in Kisumu.
However, things have not been okay with her as her mum has come out to plead with Kenyans to help Conjestina whose heath is not showing any signs of improving.
The former boxer was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia which seems to have over powered her mind. According to Conjestina’s mum the lady has destroyed most of the Championship belts she won throughout her career.
Lulu Hassan shared a video through her gram showing how Conjestina’s health has become complicated and wrote saying;

Lulu is the executive producer of the Swahili telenovela dubbed ‘Maza’; a show that depicts the unfolding intrigues as well as drama of a once successful family that crushes on the envy of a best friend as the friend breaks the bonds within the family. Maza is set in the coastal city of Mombasa.
The show aired for the first time on Monday 21st August. Lulu was running a campaign on social media to popularized Maza before it finally premiered on Maisha Magic East.
Lulu, her husband Rashid Abdalla, Kanze Dena, Mvita MP Hon. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir were among the big shots that attended Maza launch event.
