Jomo Gecaga, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s personal secretary and nephew, has publicly acknowledged his children for the first time.
In an Instagram post, Jomo revealed the names of all his children, including the ones he fathered with popular media personality Anne Kiguta.
The revelation came in response to a post by Jomo’s girlfriend, Lola Hannigan, celebrating him on Father’s Day.
Lola shared a heartfelt video of Jomo with her daughter, Malaika, expressing her gratitude for his exemplary fatherhood.
She captioned the post, “Happy Father’s Day my love. You are such an amazing dad.”
Jomo, who was touched by Lola’s post, took the opportunity to pay tribute to his children.
He wrote, “My Malaika in name and spirit, may you always watch over us and your siblings. @lolahannigan, thank you, but it takes two. Udi, Uhuru, Makena, Malaika and… X, thank you for entrusting me with being your dad.”
Jomo and Lola are also expecting another child together. The couple had previously welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in April 2020.
Lola joyfully shared the news on her Instagram account on Mother’s Day, expressing her gratitude and excitement for the upcoming addition to their family.
Alongside a photo showing her pregnancy, Lola captioned it with a heartfelt message:
“Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfil His promises to her.”
This is the first time that Jomo has publicly acknowledged all of his children. In the past, he has only spoken about his children with Anne Kiguta, Udi and Uhuru.
The revelation that he has four other children is likely to be met with mixed reactions. Some people may be surprised to learn that he has so many children, while others may be supportive of his decision to publicly acknowledge them.
Regardless of how people react, it is clear that Jomo Gecaga is a proud father who loves his children very much.
