Radio Jambo presenter Lion Deh bid a final farewell to his young son, Master Lion-man, on January 11, 2025, during a burial ceremony held at their ancestral home in Eshiongo village, Khwisero, Kakamega County.

The emotional service brought together friends, relatives, and colleagues who offered their support to the grieving family. In a heartfelt message, Lion Deh expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support, saying, “Thank you for your comforting messages and prayers as my family and I try to accept the will of God.”

A Tragic Accident at Home

The heartbreaking incident occurred while Master Lion-man was playing in the family’s living room. The young boy fell off a sofa, hitting his head and sustaining a critical injury. Lion recounted how the boy began convulsing immediately after the fall, prompting the family to act quickly.

They rushed him to a nearby medical facility, where a CT scan revealed internal brain bleeding. Doctors recommended emergency surgery, which lasted three hours.


A Glimmer of Hope

After the surgery, there was a moment of hope as doctors reported that the procedure had been successful. Lion shared, “He was rushed for a three-hour surgery, which was successful.”

However, complications arose as the injury caused severe brain swelling. The boy’s condition worsened, leading to his admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Condition Deteriorates

Despite the medical team’s efforts, the swelling in the brain proved too severe. Lion shared the devastating update, explaining that the brain had suffered irreparable damage.

“Due to the nature of the injury, the brain had suffered and started swelling. Medics hoped the swelling would stop, but it was too severe,” he said. Tragically, Master Lion-man was eventually declared clinically brain-dead, with his life sustained by machines.
