A follower called me a whale after sharing my vacation photos- Lynda Nyangweso

Radio presenter Lynda Nyangweso has opened up on trolls she got recently while on vacation with her family at the beach.

Nyangweso took to social media to share the photo while enjoying her vacation but some Kenyans wouldn’t let her enjoy in peace instead.

“I posted the picture because we were happy and we were having fun we were on vacation like any other regular family on vacation. someone called me a whale. I think that is the most creative one. I appreciated it. At least you did your research because he specifically called me a beluga whale.” she said in a QandA session.

Support

Every time she posts something on social media she almost always expects to be trolled. After her post though, she opted not to bother with the trolls and moved on with his life.

“Honestly, the best thing I did was post and went on with my vacation. It is only afterward I saw people expected me to wear I don’t know garbage bags.” she said.

She went on to add that despite the trolls, her hubby has always been with her through the ups and downs and she always runs to him for support.

“Ooh my God my husband is the most amazing person because he is the blindest to such things so I thank him for that but I will say this time what got to me was that people DMing him and telling him really mean things”

Kiss Fm presenter Linda Nyangweso: I felt a lot of shame eating in public

Kiss Fm presenter Linda Nyangweso has opened up about her struggle with weight.

In an episode of the ‘Legally Clueless’ podcast, the presenter shared how having weight issues made her afraid of even eating in public.

“The truth is I feel like every woman is insecure right? I have always had body insecurity issues because I just don’t look like the other girls who I am told are supposed to be the beautiful ones, it’s hard to be a plus sized girl. I went to an artsy school where everyone was limber, skinny and blonde and then I joined an industry where beauty is more marketable than anything. It has been an ongoing insecurity. I used to hate taking pictures because it was evident that I was very different. I was not only super short, I was also super fat and so you kind of standout standing next to these tall Amazonian girls around you,” Linda confessed.

“I had to stop that because I like who I am, I deserve to take up space. I constantly feel like I have to apologize for existing because I didn’t look like what you think I should look like. I stopped feeling that way when I realized that if I’m constantly apologizing for existing I am not actually living.”

Shameless

Only when she was at peace with her image did things easy up on her. She said now she doesn’t mind much.

“I eat and I don’t feel shame about it, I used to feel a lot of shame about eating especially in public because I always felt that when people see me eat they think I am constantly eating. I stopped eating in public, I never ate is school because I was afraid people assumed that is all I am doing anyway. These days I am shameless about that. I can say I am hungry and I don’t feel like that makes me look fatter,” Linda said.

KISS FM popular radio presenter denies insulting Raila Odinga and inciting tribal violence

With tension rising a few days after Kenyans came out to elect their new president, there have been a few people trying to incite others through their social media pages but so far this is being contained by those who understand the importance of maintaining peace in the country.

One popular radio presenter Linda Nyagweso has come out to distance herself from a Facebook account spreading hate speech towards Raila Odinga.

The lady who is known for her sultry voice and American accent has warned those using the Facebook page (which has both her names and picture) and at the same time apologized to the public who might have been affected by the message posted by the fraud pretending to be her.

Looking at the comments from her followers and fellow colleagues, it is easy to tell they were all disappointed to learn that some Kenyans have not yet learnt from the chaos that was caused by such words in 2007/2008.
