I would never ask you for money and I don’t write click bait content- Larry Madowo warns Kenyans

Former NTV news anchor has warned Kenyans over fake pages on social media registered under his name that are soliciting money from Kenyans.

The BBC journalist took to social media to warn his followers about the pages which have been also posting click baits. Madowo, who is BBC’s Africa Business Editor, told Kenyans that all his pages have been verified and people should take note.

He urged Kenyans to help report the fake pages so that they can be pulled down.

WARNING. None of these are my Facebook accounts. I only have one verified public page. I don’t run any money-making schemes and I would never ask you for money. I also don’t write clickbait content. Please unfriend and report them,” warned Larry Madowo.

Victims

Public figures have always been a victim of this as con men us their names to hustle fans. Almost every celebrity in Kenya has been forced at one point to come out and issue a similar statement after fans started complaining that they have been conned.

Larry Madowo reports in Swahili for BBC and leaves Kenyans very impressed(video)

We have all known Larry Madowo as an English reporter and news anchor but it seems at BBC where he moved a few months ago, a lot has changed.

Kenyans were left impressed after watching a Swahili report from Larry Madowo on BBC in which he spoke effortlessly, proving yet again that he’s a really talented journalist.

Uber Strike

Madowo was in Kenya to report about the recent Uber strike and how drivers have been having a hard time trying to make ends meet.

After doing an interview in underwear, Larry Madowo now forced to borrow shirt after BBC came calling

Seems like news anchor Larry Madowo is never ready or, just always busy.

Sometime back in 2016, Madowo did a BBC Radio interview in his under cloths after forgetting he was scheduled for a talk. That was in Tanzania during a conference on technology and Mobile penetration in Africa called “Mobile 360.”

“I forgot about that BBC interview until we were 5 minutes out. I had no time to put anything on so I just spoke to the world in my underwear,” he said then.

Having lunch

Now, the popular journalist was forced to ask for a shirt after an abrupt BBC interview. He was on lunch when the giant media firm came calling. A friend saved him with a slim-fit  shirt that turned out perfect.

“I had to cut short lunch with a visiting friend to do this. I haven’t shaved for two weeks and was wearing a T-shirt. That’s where @shiyenzefashion swooped in to save the day with this amazing shirt fit for international TV,” captioned Larry on an Instagram post.

NTV gives Larry Madowo extra airtime to inject life into new show after he quit the Trend

Larry Madowo will be on your screens for a longer time starting this Wednesday. The NTV journalist has directed his energy to a new show after he quit the Trend.

Nation Media has indeed acknowledged that Larry Madowo has the Midas touch, the extra airtime they gave Larry proves this assumption.

Larry Madowo took over the Trend in December 2012 and made it to be the dopest and most watched entertainment show in Kenya. Larry however quit the Trend a fortnight ago and now it’s clear what plans his bosses had for him.

Apparently Nation media honchos want Larry to work his magic on the relatively new political show Sidebar. Larry has been given extra airtime to inject life into Sidebar – just like he was given extra airtime when ratings for The Trend skyrocketed.

“Starting tonight and every Wednesday on @ntvkenya, our show #Sidebar gains an extra hour at 10pm. So we’re on at 8pm & 10pm because there’s lots to cover in these extraordinary times and we want to get through all of it. Tonight, Senator Joy Gwendo & MP Junet Mohammed will join me at 8pm. At 10pm, I’ve got Senators Mutula Kilonzo Junior & Kipchumba Murkomen. Let’s do this, shall we?” Larry Madowo announced.
