Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol have a new manager from South Africa who will be handling their brand after parting ways their former mzungu manager Marek Fuchs.
Fuchs has managed them for almost a decade now and the band has done so well but Sauti sol believes it’s time to grow even bigger.
“It is only that we have also grown because we now have Sol Generation, but we will still be working with him, although he will not be managing our day-to-day work anymore. We are currently managed by a South African manager,” Said Bien.
Good terms
Bien further added that Marek will have been a good manager to them and going for a new management team was tough on them but there was no hard feeling.
“After we signed a new record deal, it came with new rules, which is why Marek is currently not our manager.
Adding: “He is a hardworking person and we will still have him as a brother. Life is about growth and so we have to keep growing.”
Sauti Sol singer Bien Aime Baraza and his fiancée Chiki Kuruka have left many awed after sharing a rather steamy dance video on social media.
The love birds decided to show the world how good they are when it comes to pulling off serious dance moves and since it was Chiki Kuruka’s birthday, Bien rewarded her with a really nice and erotic dance.
Steamy
The two have been dating now for a couple of years and Bien even proposed early this year.
“LAPDANCE FOR MY BABY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE.There truley is no me without you. My BEST HALF. Thanks for keeping up with my ashy ass for all these years (yes years) MY FACE IS YOUR THRONE. I love you @chikikuruka. See you later – Song: Overdose Artist: @Nviirithestoryteller” Bien captioned the video.
The video has attracted many reactions including from other celebs who have showed their support for the two love birds.
Boy Band Sauti Sol has also decided to speak out against the xenophobic attacks currently happening in South Africa.
Foreigners in South Africans have been attacked by locals yet again and are being forced out of the country. This has led to several deaths and destruction of property as thousands have trooped the streets to protest and loot.
Sad
Sauti Sol, given that they really travel to SA a lot, took to social media to react to the violence saying it shouldn’t be there.
Rapper King Kaka has finally given an explanation why American rapper Cassidy was not in their new video Far Away.
Speaking on Kiss FM with Shaffie and Adele, King Kaka told Kenyans that the rapper couldn’t make it for the shoot because he was morning.
“My song with Cassidy well, he did not show up for the video shoot. we were in LA and it was supposed to be a free video shoot. Cassidy was in ATLANTA for a gig and he said he could not miss it So I had to fly to Atlanta to SHOOT IT. he did not show up after numerous calls but he FINALLY RESPONDED WITH AN EXPLANATION saying he lost a friend who was shot the night before IN ATLANTA and SO he was mourning at that time,” said King Kaka.
Negative reaction
King Kaka also said that Kenyans reacted negatively after noticing Cassidy wasn’t in the video.
“I sent in the song via my friend and it got to Cassidy but he took a while to respond. A week later he DM’ed me saying it’s a good song, actually, he called it a fire track and asked for my Whatsapp number where he sent me his verse,” he said.
Adding:
“When the video came out, KOT did not see Cassidy in the video and SO THEY started saying it WAS a HOAX. to make matters worse, they also realized he had not pushed for the song on social media. KOT were so quick to jump on negativity, but on Monday he posted it.”
Nana Owiti was recently on Instagram to make a long confession of how she had a miscarriage. King Kaka’s wife narrated her story on social on how devastating a miscarriage can be.
Here’s the confession.
“It’s Feb 2014. Beautiful morning. I take a test and oh! It’s positive. King said he wanted mtoi amuite ‘Daddy Gugugugu’ Now if you have been an ardent fan of King Kaka in his Rabbit days you will know that is an excerpt from his song-Twende. He meant every word. He wanted a baby-I grew into that idea. So yeah! We didn’t talk about baby names by the way. King has started calling me Mama Gweth long before we planned on having a baby.
“Said it’s a unisex name. I tell him no need of starting clinic early so we good… First forward to the 1st of April 2014.I go the the washroom and get a blood stain. What is google for? Very fast I google and somewhere I find ooh implantation bleeding. Aaai! The math didn’t make up for implantation building but I choose to just hold onto the that as I freshen up and we head to the hospital. I tell the doc my LMP(Last Menstrual Period) and of course! The stain.
“He asks us to do a Scan.. the Sonographer calls another Sonographer and I hear. ‘Hakuna!’ Did I mention before that i drunk a lot of water coz the pregnancy is small they couldn’t see if the bladder is not full…Anyway I ask ‘Hakuna nini?’ the first Sonographer says ‘Hakuna heartbeat’… it felt like April fools day. (notice the day) I gave King a quick glance and quickly gave those two sonographers another one expecting a ‘We just fooled you!’ My God! There was no taking back their words.
“I died a little. King was confused and I some more. I walked out first and sat by the hallway of the hospital. Then King followed then we went back to the Sonographer and he asks..’ there is nothing you can do?’ (Trust the Eastlando in this guy) Then he responds..’The best we can do is a wash as soon as possible..because by her LMP she should be 12weeks but by the fetal blah blah(those medical jargons).
Support
“Iko 7weeks meaning she’s been walking around with a dead baby for weeks!!!!!’ God! I died some more…We were taken to the ER and before the medical evacuation was performed I gathered enough courage and asked why?what happened ? what did I do wrong? The doc was kind enough to explain.. ‘Could be many things..Stress..Hormonal imbalance..’ Honestly my brain went into a trance and well, I don’t remember much of anything he was saying. King Hugged me and well, we mourned our little angel that we didn’t get to meet.. When I woke up, King was by my bedside, My heart dented, soul fractured, eyes swollen and my womb childless
Did I worry My Relationship with King would suffer a massive blow? Oh! My God!! ABSOLUTELY! Did I worry I would never get through that!! Wah! Si ndio!!! Anyway, Home we went with hopes of a child(ren) someday. God naye ni nani? In 3 months time, I was pregnant with our girl Gweth @gwethgeezy who is going to be 5 in a months time. Another 3years after that I got my son @princeiroma.
“If you are going through this Turmoil, I promise time is a healer and it shall be well. Your blessing is coming. Cry if you have to, sleep if you feel like, talk to a counselor. Chin up and Pray and hope for the best. When the doc waves that Green flag, do not be scared to take off. Try again.. I love you all. Love and Light .”
Rapper King Kaka has blamed the media for some of the woes Kenyan artists are facing.
According to the artists, media has always supported foreigners more than they have done to local artists, a reason why artists from other countries are big locally while artists from Kenya are are not even known outside.
“I think the media is to blame. We are not given airplay in Tanzania. In Kenya, media is playing so much foreign content so you cannot say Kenyan artists do not have content,” King Kaka said in an interview with Willy M Tuva.
Charges
King Kaka is set for a high end album launch towards the end of November 2018 for his new project, Eastlando Royalty. He has been touring Nairobi to promote it, moving from one campus to another.
King Kaka was not happy with how much Kenyans are being paid for a show and said that money is hard to reinvest.
“You want to know why we put out substandard content out there? A foreign act will come to the country and do a show for KSh 2 million while a Kenyan artist will only get paid KSh 150,000. That money cannot even cater for a music video outside the country,” he lamented.
Burna Boy was a trending topic during the weekend after he was asked to apologize for disrespecting Kenyans and refused.
The Nigerian singer, a few months back called Kenyans peasants on his social media pages angering many. Many influential people tried to bend his arm for an apology but he totally refused.
Sauti Sol singer Bien Aime took to social media to explain that Burna Boy is not so much on the wrong since Kenyans can’t even respect themselves in the first place, therefore shouldn’t ask for respect from foreigners.
Political
“If you demanded an apology this vehemently from political class. This would be a different country all together” wrote Bien.
Some fans were not happy with his statement and immediately started attacking him.
“You are always right …but this time you are missing the point” A fan told him.
Bien replied:
“We don’t respect ourselves but we demand respect from others. We (Myself included) have brought this country and particularly our industry to its knees. I don’t endorse Burna Boy behavior.. But feel like we have bigger fish to fry”
Rapper King Kaka continues to enjoy more success. The rapper is expected to share stage with billionaire Bill Gates in a few weeks in New York.
Her daughter Gweth has now been appointed as a brand ambassador for Marini Naturals. Marini Naturals is Michelle Ntalami’s company.
Gweth was picked by the company as the ambassador for their newly-launched kiddy range officially known as Marini Kids.
“A big congratulations to Gweth for being our second girl brand ambassador! @gwethgeezy is @nanaowiti and @thekingkaka’s little princess!” Ntalami.
Three years
She went on to praise the young kid who just clocked three years a few months ago.

Musician King Kaka will fly to New York in September for the second annual Goalkeepers conference organised by Bill and Melinda Gates.
King Kaka sounded excited while announcing the conference on his Instagram page saying that Kenya will be represented in the event that will take place from September 25th to 26th at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
“Another win for Kenya. Very excited to be speaking at this year’s Goalkeepers alongside Trisha Shetty ,Ed Sheeran , Bill Gates, Aranya Johar, Melinda Gates ,Graca Machel and David Sengeh. New York see you this September.” she said.
Goals
Other prominent names set to appear in the lucrative event include David Sengeh, Chief Innovation Officer for the government of Sierra Leone, Trisha Shetty, an Indian lawyer, social activist, and founder of SheSays, Aranya Johar, an Indian spoken word poet among others.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation started Goalkeepers last year to help eradicate poverty in the world. By sharing stories and data behind the Global Goals through events and an annual report, the conference hopes to inspire a new generation of leaders—Goalkeepers who raise awareness of progress, hold their leaders accountable, and drive action to achieve the Global Goals.
Singer Sage has come out to share her journey so far as a single mother. The popular singer, who got a daughter after a secret affair with King Kaka, said that she’s handling it well though being a single parent isn’t a joke.
“Raising a child as a single mum is the most challenging things I have faced so far. I had a constant fear of wondering how I’m gonna deal with when she goes to school, and she will be asking herself, ‘How comes I am not living with my dad?’ And that was the biggest worry. I have learnt that God is in control of everything,” she said in an interview with Word Is.
Alone
King Kaka was in a relationship with wife Nana when she fathered Sage’s daughter and has always been there for her. Sage, however, said that she does most of the heavy lifting.
“You know I am alone, other parents are paying fees together, they can handle that together. In the beginning, I was freaking out, but after her first term in school, I was able to pay her school fees and even to ensure she goes to school on time, and get everything she needed, including her snacks. It is learning how to let go and leaving God.” she said.
Rapper King Kaka nine months ago was blessed with a son. He named him Prince Iroma though Nana Owiti, his wife, has never revealed the son’s face on social media.
The two have now unveiled his face for the first time ever in some very nice photo shoot.
“Hello guys. Finally,9 months later here’s my face without an emoji. Who do I resemble?Mommy or daddy? they said on social media.
The photos left Kenyans in awe as they continue to admire the couple who have been together for more than a decade now.
Rapper King Kaka recently took online to appreciate and celebrate his daughter, Ayanna, who has just turned four years.
In a social media post, Kaka poured his heart out sharing how Ayanna has changed sharing she has even learnt how to play the piano.
Daughter from another relationship
Ayanna was born out of a rather controversial secret relationship King Kaka had with fellow singer Sage. She was born just about the same time King Kaka’s first born, Gweth, who he got with wife Nana Owiti, was born.
“Can’t believe it that it’s been 4 years. You’ve grown into such a beautiful lady , you play piano and you are intelligent. May God grant you all your wishes and just know that Papa is here for you, uko kwa speed dial (kwanza we get you a phone) Happy Birthday Ayanna , I love you,” he posted.
Sage also added:
“My beautiful flower turned 4years old. 26.03.2018. We have done so much growing up my love. Both of us. Me: who loves you more than anything in this world? Ayanna: You mommy.”
It is sad to see our own artists exchanging nasty words on social media. Instead of supporting each other like how the Tanzanians are doing…our own are busy exchanging bitter words online.
A few weeks ago King Kaka came out to say that Sauti Sol had not done much to help upcoming artists in the country (something that many agree with).
However this was not received well by the Sauti Sol members who recently called for a press conference to address King Kaka’s claims. Well, Bien went ahead to say that Avril and Timmy Tdat are too good to be signed under King Kaka creating bad blood between him and King Kaka’s fans.
Anyway the rapper has come out to end the beef in a video he shared on Twitter. While addressing the issue he went ahead to say;
“Sauti sol I am just being a man here, if I have wronged you, I have seen you have insulted me so much I’m very sorry. Telling fans to go and check out the beef won’t help anything. Fans what you should do is go to MTV Awards and vote for Nyashinski. This beef is unhealthy. I have not been on the internet for a while, so I checked in yesterday and found out that Sauti Sol had called for a press conference and the content of the press was to insult me. When you watch the two interviews, you will find out that what I said is purely true. It very sad that were are at time when we are insulting each other instead of supporting each other”
He went on to add…
“Kaka Empire has provided employment to a number Kenyans, and when someone starts to shot down my efforts is not good. You telling young Kenyans it’s bad to come up with new ideas, Kaka Empire was a vision one day and now it’s working. Let’s not have this meaningless beef”
