Police are currently investigating a tragic incident in which two boys, aged 12 and 13, drowned at a swimming pool in Kilimani, Nairobi.
The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon when the two boys were on a swimming expedition. Upon receiving a call, the police arrived at the scene to find the lifeless bodies of the two boys next to the pool. The bodies have been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
It remains unclear whether a guide was present at the pool during the incident, and the police are actively looking into the matter. Nairobi Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei described the incident as tragic and emphasized the importance of caution, advising swimming pool attendants to be vigilant, especially during busy weekends.
In another unfortunate incident in Kwale, at Kwa Ruwa water pan in Makamini “D” village, the bodies of two minors, aged six and four, were found floating after drowning. The brothers, who were tending to their animals, drowned in the water on February 10. Other villagers discovered the bodies hours later, and they were later released to the families for burial rites. The police are conducting an investigation into this tragedy.
Meanwhile, in Elmentaita, Nakuru, a man named Elijah Mutheki drowned in a dam while working at a farm on February 10. The police are actively investigating this drowning incident that occurred in Ngesha village. The body has been retrieved and taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
