Khaligraph’s much-awaited collabo with Otile Brown dubbed ‘Japo Kidogo’ is finally out (Video)

Papa Jones and Otile Brown have finally dropped their long overdue collaboration and it’s much better than what I had imagined when I heard that they were working on another song together.

If you didn’t know, Khaligraph and Otile have worked together before. They have two songs dubbed Imaginary Love and Nataka.

If you are a fan of these two musicians, just as yours truly, then I know you’ve waited for ages to see them on another track, especially now that both of them are blowing up. Well, that day is finally here!

The song dubbed Japo Kidogo was released a few hours ago. A quick peek at the comments section on YouTube confirms that many people can not get enough of it.

Maybe, just maybe this will be the biggest club banger this year. But then again, it’s so hard to tell seeing as we have 9 months before the year ends.

Vicky Pon Dis really did justice to the beats of Japo Kidogo. This song will put you in a good mood from the moment you hit the play button. You won’t resist the urge to dance along to it.

Vicky Pon Dis

Japo Kidogo is a Swahili word that loosely translates to ‘just a little bit’. Did I get that right? Anyway, the song’s chorus is a no brainer and easy to remember, it goes like, “Oh japo kidogo, japo kidogo oh mama break it down. Oh japo kidogo, japo kidogo.”

In this song, Khaligraph shows us for the umpteenth time that he’s not only a good rapper but also a great singer. He’s by far the most versatile artist out there. If you are here for Papa Jones then skip to 1:36. You’re welcome!

The video was shot at K1 Klub House by the one and only Enos Olik. You know what to expect when you hear that name. Nothing but class.

Before I forget, the choreography in the video was also on point!

Watch Japo Kidogo below. If I were you, I’d get some good earphones for this moment.

It’s a good time to be alive. It really is.

Msupa S was just comedian, no one took her seriously

Sandra Chebet Koech, alias Msupa S, has been away from the music scene for some time. However, it seems like no one is bothered with her hiatus which begs the question, did she have any fans at all?

To be honest, none of us took the self-proclaimed queen of Kale hip hop seriously from the beginning. I still remember how I was first introduced to her music. A friend thought I should watch a video by Msupa S that was soooo (sic) bad that it was actually good.

The song that made her household name was a re-fix of the international hit, All the Way Up, performed by Fat Joe, Remy Ma and French Montana.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dczFK7kfWQo

Weeks later, the lass was doing media interviews and comparing herself to the likes of Cardi B and Beyonce. When she appeared on The Trend, Msupa S told Amina that her friends told her that “she could rap like Beyonce.”

The Kale queen did another interview on Citizen TV where she took shots at Kenyan female rappers, including Femi One, Kyki and Njeri. Wrong move! But then again, maybe her boyfriend-cum-manager advised her to do so to gain popularity.

Before we knew it, Msupa S had a new song with Khaligraph Jones dubbed Watajua Hawajui. The song was catchy, that is not up for debate. She started getting shows and before we knew it, she had disappeared from the music scene.

She re-appeared in January this year and accused Willy M. Tuva of hitting on her. Interestingly, she later claimed that the posts had been made by her jealous boyfriend.

We had not heard much from her until recently when she debuted her new collabo with Best Boomer dubbed Wana Nini.

After listening to it a couple of times, I came to the realization that Msupa S has really grown. Her punchlines are more solid, her delivery and rhymes need a little work but you can tell that she’s getting there.

She’s slowly moving from a comedian who was the butt of odd jokes to a household name. All she needs is time!

Watch Wana Nini below and tell us what you think.

Khaligraph’s performance fee has shot to 1 million bob per show and it’s totally okay

Gone are the days when Khaligraph had to perform at several local clubs in Eastlands before he could hold a million bob in his hands. These days, he makes that amount in one show, easily if I might add.

Khaligraph

You see, 2018 was a good year for Papa Jones. First, he dropped an album dubbed Testimony 1990 that was received well by fans. He also had some good hits including Ngori.

Secondly, he won the Best Rap Act at Annual African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) beating the likes of Phyno, Olamide, Sakordie, and Nasty C.

He was also nominated for the Best Hip Hop award at the Soundcity MVP awards but he lost to South Africa’s AKA and in the Best Male African Artist (Non Nigerian) category at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA). He lost to Sarkodie.

He was also featured on yet another season of Coke Studio.

After getting international recognition for his work, Khaligraph felt it was time to adjust his rate card. An event organizer tells me that the Omollo hitmaker asks for one million bob for a show.

“If you’ve worked together before, he can revise the fee downwards. If major brands are sponsors of the event, he will definitely ask for more money,” the event organizer told me.

Perhaps this would explain why Khaligraph is doing less shows these days. It only makes sense that he should do one show and be compensated handsomely rather than doing so many shows and getting exhausted for no apparent reason.

Khaligraph has been putting in a lot of work and it’s okay for him to ask for such an amount. It’s about time he got paid for what he is worth.

Kiboko remix featuring Khaligraph Jones is finally out and we are really feeling it (Video)

2019’s most anticipated collabo, Kiboko remix, in which Masauti features rapper Khaligraph Jones, is finally out and we loooooove (sic) it!

Masauti

Masauti, who is also known as Kenyan Boy, has been in the industry for some time now. However, most people first came to know him when he released Kiboko.

In the song, the musician whose real name is Mohammed Ali Said describes a certain lass who is causing him sleepless nights because of her smashing beauty, alluring figure and skin colour. She’s the kind of woman that any man would kill for.

Weeks after the song was released, Khaligraph Jones posted a video of jamming to Kiboko. It didn’t take long before the the duo hit the studio to work on the remix.

In the remix, Masauti’s smooth vocals blends in well with Khaligraph’s rap so much so that you’ll have no choice but to listen to the song at least a couple of times.

The video, which was directed by renowned videographer Enos Olik, didn’t disappoint either. Apart from the smooth transitions between scenes, I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful colour coordination.

Watch Kiboko remix below and tell us what you think.

Tunji is all the way up

25-year-old rapper Ronald Mwawaka, alias Tunji, is taking Kenya’s hip hop scene by storm with his high energy bars and eclectic flow.

He didn’t take too long to learn the ropes. Tunji has moved from an upcoming rapper to a house household name in less than three years. That’s no mean feat!

Interestingly, the Rongai bred rapper wasn’t really keen on becoming a musician. Tunji began deejaying when he joined Multimedia University (MMU). However, he ditched the trade for music when he realized it wasn’t paying off.

Tunji

In 2015, he released a mixtape dubbed Now They Know which was meant to introduce him to hip hop fans. He released a couple of singles after that, including Mat Za Ronga, a song that skyrocketed him to stardom.

The song was so good that Khaligraph Jones reached out to him asking to be featured in the remix. Mat Za Ronga remix was one of the biggest songs in 2017. Tunji’s career also blew up.

Since then, he has released a couple of songs which have been received well by music fans. They include; Harambee, Dash, Excuse Me Dada and Mtu Wathii.

In all these songs, Tunji proved that he is worth his salt. A few weeks ago, he released yet another song dubbed Pour Me One and as expected, the song is getting massive airplay on local radio stations.

Clearly, there’s no stopping for this young man who has been giving established rappers a run for their money. Can he keep up? Only time will tell.

Listen to Pour Me One below.

Who´s the OG? Papa Jones vs Ms Cashy

On 10 over 10, Ms Cashy made it clear that she had moved on from Khaligraph Jones.

¨Mi ndiyo O.G hapa.¨ she told Willis Raburu, in response to his question about her past relationship with Khaligraph.

Quite contrary to who we all know as the O.G, Papa Khali.

Speaking on International Women´s day, Ms Cashy articulated ¨Power to us women. Tutasimama no matter what happens behind the scenes.¨

Ms Cashy

Ms Cashy seemed pained about the fact that she got threatened, a move that made her feel like people thought they could walk all over her because she was laid back.

The female rapper however reported the case to the police.

She echoed that most women did not have platforms to express themselves and even when they did, they were scared about what the public would end up saying about them.

The established female rapper revealed that she had started an initiative by the name ¨Naitwa” that is there to encourage individuals to express their stories no matter how challenging and rough the road might have been for them.

Rapper Ms Cashy makes a comeback

Ms Cashy further addresses the women, telling them they could easily overcome their circumstances with support from individuals whom have had similar experiences.

In addition, Ms Cashy tells Willis Raburu that her fire has just began blazing for she is yet to unleash more music and better collabos.

The female rapper had gone under for couple of years, before she recently made a publicity tour earlier this year.

However, even when she returned, she did not make such good remarks about her past relationship with ex, Khaligraph Jones, during her interview with Kiss 100.

¨I left because it got messy to protect myself because you can´t let yourself be in a place you´re constantly unhappy despite who he or she is.¨

Ms Cashy and Khaligraph Jones

¨Stability mentally and physically comes first¨ she stated pointing out that reason behind their breakup in 2017 was because of violence and abuse.

¨When I started getting threats from other women, I decided that is it¨ Ms Cashy reveals that Khaligraph Jones was actually entertaining other women into his life.

The mother of one, adds that they tried talking about the matter at hand but it seemed impossible to have the loopholes mended.

¨He lost who he was because he was getting recognition after his brand grew¨ Ms Cashy said in reference to the Mazishi hitmaker.

Khaligraph later denied ever having known her saying ¨Lakini juu OG ni OG mazishi inakuanga ile ile.¨

However, they both seem to have moved on with their separate lives as Khaligraph awaits to become a father.

Video: Khaligraph makes scandalous revelations about Cashy in latest single

Khaligraph Jones is the talk of the town once again after releasing the official video of Beat It – one of the songs in his Testimony 1990 album.

I was busy minding my business when I came across the song on my YouTube timeline. Since I’m a huge Khaligraph fan, I could not resist the urge to hit play. I mean, what would you have done?

A few seconds in, I realized that it was not an ordinary song, it sounded more like wuod (son of) Omollo was spilling the beans.

And what better way to spend Valentine’s Day than to reveal how your ex lover did you dirty?

You see, the Kayole-bred rapper and his former girlfriend Cash Karimi have been at it for the last few days.

The lass, who shot to fame after featuring in Khaligraph’s Mi Casa Su Casa, has been doing interviews accusing the former of physical assault and a barrage of other things.

Many of us thought she was just out to popularize her new self-titled single which, interestingly, was released on Tuesday this week.

Although her intention was really to announce her comeback, it looks like there were deep-rooted issues between her and Khaligraph which forced them to go separate ways.

In the song, Khaligraph revealed that he had done so much for Cashy and he was really disappointed that she went ahead to cheat on him.

He also called her unprintable names and went on to say that he should have listened when people told him that she is a gold digger.

The video was perfectly done with various scenes depicting the confrontation that ensued when Khaligraph busted another man with his girlfriend.

Interestingly, the audio for Beat It, which is like saying tembeza kiatu, was released in June 2018 but most people didn’t pay much attention to the song until today when the video was dropped.

Here’s the video:

“You believed in me when no one did” Check out Khaligraph Jones special message to Naiboi

Before Khaligraph Jones career picked up, he was just like most struggling artists making music with the hope of making it someday.

Judging from his photos taken during the time his career began; it is indeed clear to see that Brian Ouko aka khaligraph Jones was really struggling.

Well, for those who know how the music industry works in Kenya, will understand some of the struggles Khali faced. However in his case, at least he had a few producers giving him hope about making it big one day.

Naiboi and Khali’s friendship

Thanks to a post shared by Khaligraph Jones we understand that he has been friends with 2 in 1 maker, Naiboi for a long time now.

In the post shared on his Instagram page, we understand that Naiboi is among those who encouraged Khaligraph Jones not to give up hope. He stood with him probably supported each other in  one way or another. Anyway, read Khaligraph Jones post below.

Drama: Khaligraph Jones dissing ex lover in new video?

All is not well with Khaligraph Jones and his ex, Cashy. The two have been hinting this for a few days  now and word has it that Cashy will be exposing Khaligraph Jones in her soon to be released single.

With this news making rounds on social media, Khaligraph Jones has also decided to drop a new song that could be explaining why he left his ex.

Khaligraph Jones with ex, Cashy

From the lyrics, Khaligraph Jones talks about being betrayed and used by the person he loved most. He goes on to add that he was warned by friends about his lady being a golddigger but he only understood this when it was too late.

Painful breakup

The song also goes on to reveal that Khaligraph Jones went through a lot emotionally as he comes out to talk about his pain.

Baby on board: Khaligraph Jones new girlfriend pregnant!

Things between Khaligraph Jones and Casey are definitely over. If anything, there seems to be bad blood the ex lovers judging from their recent posts shared on social media.

After the two called off their relationship, it was revealed that Cashy was pregnant for another man. This raised a few questions that remain unanswered till date.

The lass however welcomed a bouncing baby boy late last year and seems like Khaligraph will be doing the same thank year.

We’re pregnant!

Rapper Khaligraph and his girlfriend will be welcoming their first born in a couple of months! This was revealed by the rapper through his Instagram stories where he shared a video from girlfriend’s ultrasound sound session.

Judging from his caption, Khaligraph is indeed excited and just like any new dad he honestly can’t wait to meet his baby.

Well, it’s congratulations from us!

Khaligraph Jones envies Timmy Tdat… wants to start performing topless like him

Timmy Tdat is the king of stage if his ratchet performance is anything to go by. Apparently Timmy inspires other artistes, Khaligraph Jones now wants to take a leaf from him.

Performing topless and grinding on female revelers is a must for Timmy Tdat, the rapper has sparked uproar countless times thanks to his ratchet performances.

But Khaligraph now wants to emulate Timmy, the Kayole rapper also wants to start performing topless… but not grinding on women.

Gym

Khaligraph recently announced that he had gone back to the gym to work out so that he could get in shape, with the aim being to perform topless like Timmy.

“Am back on that Metal game, but I Had to Hide under my MKM jacket when standing close to these 2 beasts, by June pia me nataka nianze kutoa shati kwa stage kama akina @timmytdat lol Cc @stephenodudo @pippenjay #RESPECTTHEOGS,” wrote Khaligraph.

Khaligraph Jones follows in Diamond’s footsteps to become media owner

Diamond Platnumz launched his own TV and radio stations sometimes in November 2018… Khaligraph Jones is also launching his own.

Khaligraph has for a long time felt disenfranchised by the Kenyan media, he started the ‘beef’ with radio and TV presenters whom he blamed for not playing enough Kenyan music.

The rapper mocked presenters by offering to fly them to Nigeria, he was protesting the influx of Nigerian music in the Kenyan airwaves.

New station

Khaligraph’s dissatisfaction with the kind of music being played on Kenyan radios and TVs has inspired him to become a media owner.

The rapper is taking matters into his own hands by launch his own radio station. He announced the station will go on air soon without going into the nitty-gritty.

Hio siku usivae panties! Massawe Japanni blasts Betty Kyallo as Khaligraph serenades her with sexually explicit lyrics

A clip of Khaligraph Jones telling Betty Kyallo how he is going to bang her has sparked mixed reaction on social media. Radio Jambo presenter Massawe Japanni is among those who were offended by the clip.

The video shows Khaligraph serenading Betty with dirty lyrics from his lewd song ‘Stick’. The rapper talks about sex in the song, he raps about how he will bang a woman, talks about oral sex, sex at the airport, caressing, etc.

Betty was dancing as Khaligraph rapped about how he would bang her, she blushed a little bit as the rapper kept talking about the dirty things he would do.

Total nonsense

Radio Jambo presenter Massawe Japanni was totally irked by the clip, she called out Betty Kyallo for tolerating such kind of nonsense.

Otile Brown takes a swipe at Khaligraph Jones for blaming Kenyan presenters for his failures

Khaligraph Jones launched surprise attack at Kenyan presenters, he claims that local artistes are not given as much airplay like foreign artistes especially Nigerians and Tanzanians.

The Kayole rapper mocked Kenyan presenters by offering to pay for their trip to Nigeria just to assess whether they have fans in Naija (because he claims presenters play too much of Nigerian music).

Otile encourages the cry-babies to work extra hard and to know their value instead of crying and complaining about their music not being given airplay.

“No time for crying and complaining ..Grind is the only way. Put in work and know your worth,” wrote Otile Brown.

“If you are still depending on Radio and TV to make you big then you’re nothing” Jalang’o fires at Khaligraph Jones

The past weekend witnessed drama, a new beef has pitted Kenyan musicians against presenters. Apparently some Kenyan artistes claim the reason why they are not successful abroad is because presenters don’t give them airplay like they do with foreign artistes.

One such artiste is Khaligraph Jones, the rapper mocked Kenyan presenters when he offered to pay for their trip to Nigeria just to assess whether they have fans in Naija (because he claims presenters play too much of Nigerian music).

“I am planning on Bringing at least 10 big Kenyan media personalities/Radio presenters to Nigeria for a 10 day trip which I myself shall cater for,I want to see if some of y’all will be recognized by your Nigerian fans or if you even have fans at all here, it would be very sad if you don’t though ?? ?????????????? #respecttheogs,” wrote Khaligraph Jones.

We don’t choose music played on radio

Jalang’o fired back at Khaligraph for mocking Kenyan presenters with the trip to Nigeria. The Milele FM presenter challenged Kenyan musicians to get out of the comfort zone, he said artistes who are still dependent on TV and radio to make it big are bound to fail.

Jalang'o
Jalang’o

“@khaligraph_jones is planning a trip for presenters and media personalities to NAIJA to see if they have fans there since we play too much Naija and soon the next trip will be to bongo! Yes we don’t have fans there but before you start blaming us! Did you know that presenters don’t even choose music played on Radio and if they do they have very little say on what goes on air? No you dint! Before music is scheduled on Radio it is researched on and all we do is play ! The other day we were involved in making our playlist, I posted it here asking you to help us and the results were shocking almost! 50% Bongo 40% Naija! Today on Apple Music there are only 6 Kenyan songs in top 100 Kenya! So hata hiyo pia ni ma presenters na djs wamepanga? But the question is how did we get here to NAIJA and BONGO? Marketing! Aggressiveness! And getting out your comfort zone! If you are still depending on Radio and Tv to make you big then you have nothing in this industry! There are too many avenues! YouTube, Spotify,Apple music..then we have social media platforms! Diamond launched his Album in more than 10 countries some of you have not launched even for your family! We can’t play what we don’t know! I personally has hosted and booked you guys for events and paid you guys for shows even if it’s little ,I have done my part! The other day @thekingkaka launched his Album they dint even show up and the other day saw them begging selfies with Diamond just like they did with Neyo instead of asking for collabo! Khaligraph you know what hard work is and what it took you to be there! Sautisol dint have to depend on us! Hii ni 2019 na mkiendelea hivi mtatukuna saana! The veteran mix master further called on other fellow Djs not to play controversial songs such as ‘Lamba Lolo’ and ‘New Position’

Octo however dismissed the tweep saying that he doesn’t recognize Omollo.

“It was fake” Vera Sidika comes clean on her beef with Khaligraph

Vera Sidika and rapper Khaligraph Jones fired at each other sometimes in May 2017. The genesis of their fierce beef was bleaching.

It was around that time that Khaligraph had been accused of bleaching himself. To take the heat off himself, Khaligraph shared an old photo he posed with Vera Sidika in Nakuru while they were both team dark skin, and bragged about how they both bleached.

“Late TBT hahahahahaha, watu walitoa Tint. With #verasidika Raaahhh #Kingkingking #respecttheogs,” Khaligraph captioned the photo.

Vera Sidika angrily responded to Khaligraph’s post. She called out the Kayole rapper for claiming that they both bleached, Vera stressed that bleaching and skin lighting was only for women.

“Everyone has been sending me screenshots of this boy posting a photo shopped pic claiming “tulitoa tint pamoja” first things first; My dear hujatoa tint bado! TINT yako bado imeacha ma traces nyuma coz ulitoa manually badala ya automatically. What kind of man bleaches!? Bleaching and skin lighting is for women. Not men. Cause it’s like makeup. Men don’t apply make up. Oh plus we ain’t the same bro! Skin lightening and bleaching are two totally different things…Stay on your lane Prissss!” wrote Vera Sidika.

Fake beef

It turns out that Vera’s and Khaligraph’s beef was fake. The bootyful socialite came clean about the fake beef during an interview with Word Is.

“The beef was fake, and people did not know that we created the beef. If the fans think we have beef then let them think so,” Vera Sidika confessed.

“If he doesn’t have ego like Luos he can come for the money” Vera Sidika responds to Khaligraph’s request for 500k loan

Khaligraph Jones publicly asked Vera Sidika for a Kes 500,000 loan so that he to the amount he already has to buy a Kes 100 million Bugatti.

The rapper was only poking fun at the bootyful socialite. He was mocking Vera over the 500k loan which was the reason why she broke up with Otile Brown.

“If he (Khaligraph) doesn’t have the ego like most people from where he comes from, he can come for the money. Luos are different but if he wants the cash I will give it to him, because it’s not a big deal to me,” Vera Sidika said during an interview with Word Is.

Khaligraph also responded to the request he made about asking Vera for a loan. He explained that it was only a joke meant to people laugh.

“It was a joke and I wanted to make people laugh. I chose her (Vera) case with Otile Brown because it was a funny situation. From what I have been reading on blogs, because I have not been following up on their relationship, I found it funny. I have nothing to gain on beef,” said Khaligraph.

500k loan

Khaligraph Jones poked fun at Vera Sidika’s name as he begged her for a Kes 500,000 loan. The rapper was mocking Vera over the 500k which was the reason why she broke up with Otile Brown.

Otile and Vera went their separate ways after the former asked the latter for a 500k loan to buy a Mercedes Benz. Khaligraph also asked Vera for a 500k loan so that he could add to the amount he already has to buy a Kes 100 million Bugatti Veyron.

“Veronica Sidika Shikwekwe, Cheza kama Wewe, pie me niletee hi machine Mtaa, naskia we ndio unapeana ma loan apa nje, it’s only $1million na nimebakisha 500k,” wrote Khaligraph on Instagram.

Khaligraph and Vera Sidika have had a beef since May 2017 when he made a joke about Vera and him bleaching. The bootyful socialite didn’t take Khalighraph’s joke lightly.
