Octopizzo joined the many celebrities celebrating Khaligraph Jones after he was named among the BET Awards nominees for 2020. Through his Twitter handle, the Kamakize hitmaker congratulated his archenemy, Mr Omollo; but mentioned that this did not mean they are friends.
Through his Twitter handle, Octopizzo went on to talk about their ongoing beef while congratulating his friend; but went on to mention that this did not mean they are friends;
We’ve always had our differences & that will remain like that. But congratulations Brayo aka KJones on your BET nomination, all my die hard go vote for Jones. Na akishinda hio award namvuitisha vela cha lazima si ati nini. All the best.
Worried Fans
Octopizzo’s gang on the other hand did not seem so impressed with this; probably because it made them bow down to Khali’s fans who have been trolling them for years.
One fan asked went on to ask whether this was the beginning of a new friendship following the online handshake; he wrote;
Khaligraph Jones has been making headlines for both good and bad reasons! Apart from being the illest rapper we have in Africa; turns out that he is also an irresponsible dad as revealed by baby mama, Cashy Karimi.
For the past few days, Khaligraph Jones has been on the spot light after Cashy went on to reveal that he doesn’t support his son, Xolani. According to the lady, the rapper is aware about his son’s whereabouts; but for some reason Khaligraph Jones refuses to support his son.
Speaking to a popular news outlet; Cashy went on to reveal that the rapper only reaches out to ask for photos of his son; but never does anything in terms of looking after his baby boy!
Despite this being said about him, Khaligraph Jones continues to shine in the entertainment industry.
So far he has been named as one of the most talented rappers in Africa; and to prove this, the rapper recently left many congratulating him after revealing that he had been nominated for the BET awards.
Through his Instagram page, the father of 2 went on to write;
Yooooooooh, KHALIGRAPH JONES IS A MOVEMENT, My 1st Ever BET Nomination in The Best International Flow Category, The OG Shall be respected???????????? Cc @bet_africa@bet
Octopizzo congratulates Khaligraph Jones
As if being nominated for the BET wasn’t enough; rapper Octopizzo seems to have added some flavor to this mix!
Surprisingly, Octopizzo has gone ahead to congratulate his archenemy for being nominated for the BET award nominations. This his twitter handle, the rapper went on to write;
We’ve always had our differences & that will remain like that. But congratulations Brayo aka KJones on your BET nomination, all my die hard go vote for Jones. Na akishinda hio award namvuitisha vela cha lazima si ati nini. All the best.
Rapper Cashy who doubles up as a law graduate and mother of one has been on a roll exposing her baby daddy Khaligraph Jones for neglecting son, Xolani.
Apparently Khaligraph Jones has not only been avoiding his son; but even when sick, the rapper still chooses not to be active in his son’s life. So far Cashy has been demanding money for insurance inorder for their son to receive health care whenever he may fall sick.
Well, away from that Cashy is back with an Mpesa statement showing the amount she has since been received from Khaligraph Jones. Looking at the statement, it appears that Khaligraph only sent her money twice and that is 5k and 7k.
Although it is evident that baby Xolani is Khaligraph Jones son; Cashy went on to use the Mpesa statement as evidence to prove that their had been communication before the rapper disappeared.
In the detailed statement, Cashy makes it known that she is not fighting for a spot in the rappers life; but she only wants her son to be treated the same as his sister, Amali. She went on to write;
Rapper Cashy who is Khaligraph Jones ex girlfriend has finally confirmed that her son, Xolani was actually fathered by the her ex Mr Omollo.
This comes almost 2 years after Cashy welcomed her baby boy; but just like most celebrities she chose to keep him on the low until he turned 1 year. At this point no one really knew who the father was since Khaligraph had moved on with his current wife, Georgina; who also happens to have a 15 month old daughter.
On Sunday, 27 September Cashy however decided to finally reveal her son’s paternity; and just when we thought it couldn’t be baba Amali – turns out that he is actually responsible for the young boy.
Child support
This comes after the lady went on to reveal that she had taken the rapper to court for neglecting his son. Through her social media pages, Cashy shared a detailed post saying;
Cashy to Khaligraph Jones
In the caption Cashy went on to reveal her reasons for suing Khaligraph who seems to have forgotten about his son, Xolani. According to Cashy, all she needs is for her child to be well taken care of; and in detailed caption she went on to explain this saying;
Looking at the photo below, it’s evident that baby Xolani looks everything like his father; but the sad thing is he has never really acknowledged him in public.
Khaligraph Jones has been on the forefront pushing for Kenyan music to get sufficient airplay; and also continues to fight for the royalties artists in Kenya should be getting from MCSK.
Being an artist who struggled to get his music to the top; Khaligraph Jones has always made it known that his purpose is to change the industry. And from what we can see, lets just say that he is the only confident artist; strong enough to stand for what he believes in no matter the consequences.
Well just recently the top East African rapper went on to introduce; and at the same time appreciate a certain singer from Mombasa who left him speechless after being featured on Benzema’s latest project.
As seen on his post, Khaligraph praised Adasa for her angelic voice; and went on to use her as example that Kenya has enough catchy talents that remain unnoticed. He wrote;
Wale wanasemanga Kenya Hakuna Talent, This lady Has one of the Best Voices in Africa and Probably the Best voice In East Africa, Tusibishane Tafadhali, This song is beautiful, Her name is @officialadasa , Kama kitu Ni noma , ni noma #respecttheogs
Promote our own
In yet another post, the OG went on to ask his fans to support this particular lady as she has the potential to put our music on the chats. He went on to add;
Simply Amazing, we should promote this Kind Of Talent, I think Mombasa Will soon Takeover The Music Scene, hawabahatishi???????????????????????? #respecttheogs
Well, if you haven’t checked the song then be sure. Anyway below are just a few photos of lady Adasa who has left Khaligraph talking on social media.

Tanasha Donna and her manager have called out Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu’s new release Cheche that is allegedly a copyright of one of her tracks off her Donnatella EP album.
Barely hours after Cheche was released, Tanasha put up a cryptic post on her gram, singing along to her favorite Ride anthem that features Khaligraph Jones, but what many did not realize is she was actually hitting back at her baby daddy and his female signee Zuchu.
Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu on the receiving end over copyright
Donna’s lines that are a mix of a bit of Spanish, English and Kiswahili are similarly the same lines that Zuchu used on her intro and this did not sit well with the Kenyan girl and her managers. She captioned:
???? Yo te quiero tanteee , for your love asante….???? ???????? One of my fav tracks on #DONNATELLAEP hands down! Back to when RIDE ft @khaligraph_jones was trending #1 on @audiomackafrica without an official release.
Tanasha and Khaligraph only worked on the song’s audio but never got to release its video. However, after the recent events, the two have sworn to have Ride’s video dropping soon.
khaligraph_jones ???????????????? That song , gotta give them a Video for that
Tanasha Donna hits the studio with Khaligraph Jones
Her manager, Jamal Gaddafi also took to his social media to blast the Tanzanian artists for lacking originality and most especially copy-pasting Tanasha’s signature line.

Reactions
Fans who could tell something was burning, called out Zuchu for pretending to be someone she is not, ever taking after Tanasha’s footsteps, be it in her trips with Diamond or even her music career. Check out the savage reactions below:

With the significant reduction of positive COVID-19 cases over the last two weeks, it seems things will soon go back to normal and the restrictions that had been put in place to curb the spread of the deadly virus will be lifted.
Measures such as banning large public gatherings and ordering the closure of clubs and have denied many Kenyans a chance to socialize and see their favourite artists performing live for a whole 6 months.
As such, I decided to write down a list of Kenyan artist who I feel many people, including yours truly, are eager to see performing on stage. Here are their names in no particular order and to be honest I don’t mind if someone can get all of them to do one show.
1. Mejja – Okwonkwo as he is popularly known has been on a roll since the year began. He has dropped fire collabos and I believe many people are yearning to see him on stage because he’s a showstopper.
Mejja
2. Sauti Sol – If you watched Sauti Sol’s virtual concert last month then I’m sure you can’t wait to see them on stage soon because nothing beats a Sauti Sol live experience.
Sauti Sol
3. Nadia Mukami – She is arguably the biggest female artist in Kenya at the moment and to add to that, Nadia has also released many jams during the social distancing period that many people would want to see her performing live.
Nadia Mukami
4. Otile Brown – The mellow-voiced singer whose real name is Jacob Otieno Obunga dropped a fire album during the social distancing period and watching him perform those songs live will be an unforgettable experience.
Otile Brown
5. Khaligraph Jones – The OG or Papa Jones has also been working really hard and if you have ever attended his show then you know that he means business when he gets on stage.
Khaligraph Jones
6. Ssaru – I know many of you can not wait to see this lass performing because she literally blew up when we were in lockdown. To add to that, she has some dope wordplay and rhymes.
Ssaru
7. Timmy Tdat – I had to include the Dus Nyau hitmaker because his energy when he is on stage is unmatched. If you attend his concert, you go home feeling like you got value for your money.
8. Willy Paul – During the lockdown, Pozze has dropped collabos with Mejja, Nadia Mukami, Bien Aime, Ruby and done many successful single projects. Therefore, you just have to see him performing live.
9. Moji Short Babaa – If you are a promoter and you want an urban gospel artist who will pull huge crowds to your event then look no further than this chap.
Moji Short Babaa
10. Mbogi Genje – Many of us have gotten to see Gengetone groups like 34 GVNG, Sailors, Ochunglo Family, Ethic, etc. performing but we are yet to see Mbogi Genje and that would be an awesome experience because they are unique and so taleneted.
After battling tough struggles in their early years of life, majority of Kenyan celebrities have come out to flaunt the fruits of their hard work.
A good number of them have proven this is through purchases of plush homes in high-end residential areas, others taking pride in the cars they ride. However, not all of them had a rough childhood per se. Let’s have a look:
1. Jalang’o
The renowned comedian, digital content creator and media personality recently crowned his successes with a grand purchase of a KSh15M all-black Range Rover Velar that he tripped to Kisumu with over the weekend. This is just one of his long fleet of luxury fuel guzzlers among them a BMW X6, Toyota Land Cruiser V8 and a convertible Mercedes Benz.

2. Betty Kyallo
The celebrated journalist took many by surprise after reportedly making a purchase of a KSh7.1M Porsche Cayenne soon as she resigned at K24 TV. Additionally owning of a sleek black Mercedes Benz which she is more often than not spotted in.

3. Masauti
The Swahili recording artist became a proud owner of a supposed KSh23.3M Bentley Continental GT V8 2020 First edition after his first debut single Liar featuring Tanasha off his ‘Masauti 001 EP’ album. A luxury SUV he was gifted by manager, Kea Boy.
The President of single mothers whose presence and power in the country has been felt of late, recently showed up at a Government meeting in a heavy fleet of black Toyota LandCruiser Prados, one platted ‘Madam Boss’ and the rest ferrying her bodyguards. That’s enough said.

5. Maina Kageni
As Kenyans were busy feeling the harsh effects of COVID-19 in May, a dear Maina Kageni took to the show room to welcome home his KSh6.9M brand new BMW X6 xdrive 40i 2020 edition reportedly the first of its kind in the East and Central African region.

6. Anerlisa Muigai
Born out of royalty, the Keroche Breweries heiress seems to have some good taste in what she rides in, spotted on numerous occasions in a sleek KSh12M dark grey Range Rover Velar.

7. Khaligraph Jones
Soon as April 2020 kicked in, the influential rapper splashed several millions on his luxury 2014 Porsche Cayenne. A four-wheel drive fuel guzzler of German Technology. This is not his one and only, possessing at least a white pimped Toyota Crown Royal Saloon, black Mercedes Benz as well as a pimped white Range Rover among his fleet of cars.
The gospel disk jockey married to singer, Size 8 takes bride in his sleek silver Range Rover that had always been his dream car and runs into millions. Meanwhile, his wife reportedly owns a KSh7M Jaguar XF.
Kenyan musicians have been rioting over the extremely poor leadership of copyright board, MCSK among other key organizations involved, who have for years paid up royalties in form of peanuts.
The wide view among artistes was that the industry was not conducive enough for the growth of their exceptional talents which have since been taken for granted. Some wishing they had started their careers overseas which would have now multiplied the kind of reception they are receiving in their own country.
Kenyan female rapper, Femi One
Weeks after their ugly rants went viral, a drastic audit was made among those corporates involved in collecting royalties for artists, with reports finally out clearly indicating that musicians’ royalties had been swindled.
MCSK, PRiSK and Kamp were among bodies majorly touched on by the forensic audit from 2017 to 2019 that unearthed deep-rooted inefficiencies in the systems. Findings that were presented to KeCoBo chairman Mutuma Mathiu on Tuesday in form of a draft report.
“The non-compliance exposes the three societies to serious risks of misappropriation of funds, civil and criminal liability and loss of income from penalties and sanctions,” read the statement in part.
A report that popular rapper, Khaligraph Jones has now given his two cents on, clarifying that an audit was not worth the sweat at the very least.
Because it was not news that some form of corruption scandals had been going on for the longest time possible and the entertainers continue to suffer even with all the numerous press briefings being given currently.
The Audit was Unnecessary, We have been Saying this from The beginning, The Kenyan Entertainment industry keeps on Suffering, DJs ,Artists, Event Organizers, Bouncers, Dancers Waiters, Club Owners, Restaurants etc,

Being a celebrity means your life is now exposed to the public. This gives netizens the power to air their different about opinions and if one can’t handle it; then you find them having bitter exchange on social media. But question is, if they can’t handle the pressure, then why sign up for it in the first place!
Zari Hassan the boss lady
Having dated Diamond Platnumz, Zari not only exposed her personal life but kids to online criticism from online fans. However everytime fans blast her for living a fake life, Zari always steps down from her throne to argue with fans. Wasting time and energy!
So far the president of single mums has proven that online criticism bring out the worst in her. Just a few days ago she went on to threaten radio presenter Massawe Jappani after finding out the questions she was throwing at Vesha Okello.
Well as much as Massawe was wrong, I bet at 23 years Ms Vesha could have dismissed some of the personal questions asked; but she chose to respond. Akothee on the other hand chose to use this against Massawe by showering her with insults!
Lilian Muli
Celebrity lives are hard and Ms Muli can tell you this for free. So far she has proven to have ‘roho ndogo’ hence her bitter exchange with fans who sometimes body shame, insult and pick on her. I mean would it really hurt to mute and ignore criticism? Lilian Muli is a brand, but sometimes she tends to easily forget this!
Khaligraph Jones
Khaligraph Jones known for his ‘savage’ clap backs
They call him the king of savage clapback but i can tell you that rapper Jones often lets fear of being embarrassed take over him. Most of the rappers on his level barely pay attention at comments from fans; but try throw shade at Khali and see if it won’t itch him to respond!
Babu Owino
Remember the last time Kenyans demanded justice for DJ Evolve? Of course. Babu Owino went on to have a bitter exchange with those who called him out; and despite his Degree in Law, his arguments sounded gibberish especially with the ‘mama yako’ insults!
Although Vera Sidika seems to have retired or tired of the socialite life; this particular lady is known to engage with fans especially well insulted.
The last time she was exposed for living in Gachie and not Kitisuru….Vera decided to parade her new mansion in mombasa not forgetting the flaunt the fashionable Gucci, LV among others to those claiming she is broke.
Pastor Godfrey Migwi, the founder of House of Hope Church which is located in Kayole, has lashed out at rapper Brian Ouko Omollo, alias Khaligraph Jones for ridiculing God.
Taking to Facebook, the man of cloth faulted the Juu Ya Ngori hitmaker for donning religious regalia while singing secular songs.
Pas;tor Godfrey Migwi
According to Migwi, who is known not to mince his words, Khaligraph was attracting curses upon his life and generations to come because they had decided to mock God.
“Use of clergy clothings for entertainment more so for secular songs and for personal gain is totally wrong and it’s time for change. For your information this is the highest level of insult as far body of Christ is concerned,” the post reads in part.
He went on to add that the fact that local entertainers are after money and fame doesn’t they are allowed to get away with anything, including ridiculing God to fulfill their goals.
“I know you’re after fame and money but you’re completely lost, mark my words, you better repent and break the curses, God is never mocked. Woe unto you and your generations to come after you,” Migwi posted.
He asked Khaligraph to take the religious regalia to the nearest Bishop and ask God to forgive him for what he had done, adding that Church ministers have to earn the right to wear those clothes.
Khaligraph Jones and his siblings seem to have so much in common to a point of looking like each other. I. This case, nitolee photocopy would work just fine.
Well, after keeping his family private for years; Ghafla recently ran into a few photos of Khaligraph Jones sister known as Isha. Looking at her photos, one wouldn’t even ask whether the two are related thanks to their striking resemblance.
Ms Isha who is a mother to baby boy identified as Damien happens to wear the smile as Khali and the dimple on cheek can make one think the two are twins – only difference is that they were born in different years.
So far Ms Isha continues to live a normal life unlike other celebrity sisters we have come to see on social media.
The lady is as natural true beauty and just like any other African woman; she has no time to alter her looks. Anyway, with the few photos we have managed to get we also understand that Khali’s daughter looks like her aunt Isha; but minus the light skin tone.

Khaligraph Jones family man
Away from that, Khaligraph Jones recently moved his family from a rental to a house he allegedly bought!
This was a major upgrade for the rapper who continues to show age-mates how to be family oriented! With such positive traits, Khali might just change how young men from this generation view settling down!

There was a time when buying YouTube views was the order of the day. Local musicians would release a song today and if you checked it the next day it had hundreds of thousands of views and almost hitting a million views.
I’m sure the practice still exists, it’s only that some of those accused decided to take a step back after being exposed. They realised that Kenyans were not as stupid as they thought i.e. we can tell if someone has bought views.
You see, it very easy to tell if someone has bought views on YouTube because all you need to do is check the other interactions that the video has i.e. the likes, dislike and comments. If they don’t go hand in hand then something is definitely amiss.
Khaligraph Jones
For instance it would be hard to explain how a video has a million views yet it only has 200 comments, 400 likes and 50 dislikes. The interaction doesn’t make sense if you compare it with the views because ideally comments and likes should be in the thousands for such a video.
In the past, both Khaligraph Jones and Octopizzo have been accused of buying YouTube views. This was around the time when they were beefing over who is the King of Kenyan hip hop. I’m convinced that they stopped because we no longer see those crazy numbers.
In a way, you could argue that buying YouTube views is slowing the growth of the local music industry because an artist wants to create this perception that they are hot on the streets so much so that they can garner a million views in a day yet they can’t pull crowds to a gig.
Octopizzo
Kenyan artists should remain true to themselves, especially now when we have new-age artists who can clock a million real views in 3 or 4 days. Our established artists should not bow to pressure to buy YouTube views.
We’d really like to know if they can really keep us with the new crop of Kenyan artists never mind the fact that they are way younger than them. Perhaps the old dogs can also learn a thing or two from the new kids on the block. Enough said!
Khaliraph Jones is the latest artist to be featured on Jalang’o Mwenyewe’s Youtube show and as expected; the rapper who doubles up as a father and husband opened up revealing unknown things about himself
Well, straight to the point, Jalang’o started by asking Khaligraph Jones to address an issue claiming that he achieved his current body by using steroids.
This being the first time a presenter has gathered enough confidence to ask about this, Jalang’o went on straight asking;
Kenya´s illest rapper, Khaligraph Jones
Kuna time ulikuja ukafura watu wakasema unatumia madawa unameza ile madawa ya kuongeza misuli,ukue mwanaume mwenye miraba minne na misuli tingiya.
To which Khaligraph Jones responded by asking;
unaniuliza kama nilukuwa natumia kweli?
Khaligraph Jones speaks about steroids
Well, fortunately Khaligraph Jones has never used steroids but supplements! He went on to explain himself saying his current body is as healthy as expected since he only uses supplements and spends most of his time at the gym. He went on to open up saying;
Maisha lazima ung’angane ata kwa gym lazimaung’ang’ane. Ata tuseme for example ningekuwa natumia hizo madawa, ata hizo dawa ukitumia kama hufanyi kazi, hutapata hizo results.
Khaligraph Jones demands that International artistes curtain raise his perfomances
Jalang’o on the other hand went on to add saying;
In short masupplements kidogo lakini chuma kwa sana
Having been accused of puffing his body with steroids, Khali on the other hand went on to prove why he would never get on steroids saying;
Kuna ile misconception mtu akiskia supplements anafikiria ni steroids. Supplements ni chakula tu ya kawaida imekuwa refined to a point whereby if you take it inaingia directly to the bloodstream inafanya kazi yake. Kama ni protein imekuwa refined inaingia tu wa muscles directly unaona.
In conclusion the father of one urged the Youth to avoid intoxicating their bodies in the name of body building. He said;
and hizo ni madawa. mtu anadunga zinaenda zinaenlarge heart yako, mtu anapata heart attack. Lakini mimi supplements ni kitu natumia na i would advise anyone going to the gym everybody anaelewa mambo ya kuworkout anajua supplements ni very important yaani in your routine ya kutrain.
But steroids of course si direction unaza taka kuchukua ju nimeona ikimess watu.
Majority of times we have seen Khaligraph Jones on the grind – proudly staging stellar performances with his hard-hitting lyrics but hardly do we see the family man spending sweet moments with his young daughter.
Well, it is the high time we did!
The celebrated Kenyan rapper recently stepped out with his little girl as he was headed to work but he was not going to leave home unless he took her with him.
Khaligraph Jones with daughter, Amina Jones Ouko
Agreed, daddy-daughter bonds are one of the tightest yet cutest but Khaligraph´s bond with his baby girl is at another level.
In a short clip, Khaligraph is seen getting into his Mercedes Benz before his little girl runs up to him and hangs on his hand, refusing to let go.
Jones then tries to ask his girl to go back to the house but she resented by letting out a sharp cry, declaring she is not going to buy into that without compensation.
Khaligraph’s wife, Georgina Muteti with their daughter
The award-winning rap act was forced to carry his little girl on her laps and spend some couple minutes there before she was convinced they could not go together.
His wife, who was behind the camera was heard lamenting:
Such a spoilt child.
For Khaligraph, these were just daddy duties he needed to put up with.
The beautiful struggle, Daddy Gotta grind, Respecttheogs
Morris Kobia, better known as Motif Di Don, needs no introduction. If you like Kenyan music, chances are high that you’ve listened to a song that he has produced.
We called him up a few days ago because wanted to know about his journey to success, thoughts on Gengetone, how he started working with Khaligraph Jones, future plans and whatnot.
Motif Di Don and Khaligraph Jones
Motif explained that he was just making beats and giving them to his friends when it hit him that he should send one to Khaligraph because he was really popping at the time.
The Juu Ya Ngori hitmaker really liked the beat and they ended up being friends and that explains why he has been producing his songs since 2015.
Motif did not go to school to learn how to make beats. He told Ghafla that he learnt most of the things that he knows on YouTube.
Asked whether he can sustain himself whether the can sustain himself with the money that he gets from producing songs, he answered in the affirmative and explained that it was hard when he was starting but things got better.
Motif Di Don with Ethic’s Mtoto wa Eunice
He also shared his thoughts on Gengetone and explained that most Kenyans are vulgar and that is the main reason why genre went viral.
I also asked him about sampling jams seeing as he was in the center of the drama that led to Figa by Ethic being and he explained that the group’s management could not reach an agreement with the owners on how to split revenues.
Lastly, I’m sure all the ladies who are reading this article are wondering whether he has a partner and apparently he does. Sorry I had to be the bearer of this news.
I’m a big fan of Breeder LW. In my opinion, he is one of the fastest rising artists in Kenya. His approach to music is very unique and the chances that you’ll love his songs the first time you listen to them are very high.
I have always wanted to interview him so I reached out about a fortnight ago and he was kind enough to return my phone call.
Breeder LW
We spoke about a number of things including; his musical journey, the Gengetone wave, influences, future projects and whatnot.
You should have seen the shock on my face when I learnt that he has been doing music since 2013. The reason I was taken aback was because most people came to know him after he featured on Khali Cartel 3 in 2019.
Breeder also shared his thoughts on the Gengetone wave. People have been saying that the sound – which has ruled the airwaves for the last two years – became boring and it’s now a thing of the past.
Breeder LW
However, Breeder LW does not share these sentiments. According to him, the sound is alive and what’s happening is that it’s evolving and during this phase some artists will be phased out while others will continue to shine.
I also asked the Inde hitmaker if he has ever considered joining a group and he told me that he was in a duo when he was starting off but it’s not something he would consider at the moment because it would limit him.
I am sure you are wondering how he got to feature on Khaligraph Jones’ Khali Cartel 3, the song that introduced him to Kenyans, and apparently, they met in 2019 and he promised to work with him in future.
Asked who he looks up to in the local industry, Breeder LW told this writer that he that he admires all the successful musicians and tries to borrow something from each of them.
It seems Mbosso and Lava Lava do not understand how the OG works! I mean hasn’t he silenced big Nigerian artists to have these Bongo artists making fun of him on Instagram?
Well there might be new beef brewing between the OG and a few members of the WCB family. It all started after Khaligraph recently complained about Diamond Platnumz photographer not sending him his photos.
For some reason Lukamba expected the OG to chase after him but of course we all know Khali doesn’t roll that way! He however mentioned this as a by the way during an interview which Lukamba finally come across.
Lukamba responds
In a sarcastic post shared on his Instagram page, photographer Lukamba went on to make fun of the OG; promising him a full album of photos – but little did he know he was playing with fire. Lukamba wrote;
To back him up singer Lava Lava went on to drop his comment laughing off at Lukamba’s funny statement; while Mbosso on the other hand went on to leave his comment saying;
Lukamba
Dah Sijafikia huku ..Changamoto za card zinataka kunigombanisha na Kaka yangu OG @khaligraph_jones Bro siku Tukikutana yaani nakupiga album mzima na kupa hapo hapo ???? #respecttheogs
Khaligraph Claps back
Seeing how ‘disrespectful’ the WCB guys were acting, Khaligraph Jones decided to respond in a well detailed comment; that has left fans asking both Mbosso and Lava Lava no to engage with the ‘master ‘of trolls.
Khali wrote saying;
@Lavalava @Mbosso naona mumechekeshwa sana. Lakini huyu kijana wenyu nyinyi wote murudi ushago. Chungeni sana ama niwafagilie nyinyi wote kama Mr Nice. You will respect the OG
Lava Lava on the other hand also issued his apology; but of course Mbosso was not ready to bow down – especially since he is a hot shot in Eastern Africa!
If there is an artist that I have missed on the Kenyan music scene it’s one beautiful lass known as Phyllis Ng’etich. You might know her from that Taabu song or the song that she did with Khaligraph and King Kaka dubbed Ruka.
The first time most of us heard about her was when she was a contestant on Maisha Superstar. To this very day I still remember her rendition of Nameless’ Sinzia. It was magical to say the least.
Phy
Phy is such a great vocalist and I would even dare say that she is one of the greatest female vocalists in Kenya, you might think otherwise and it’s totally okay.
When you listen to her, you just get life instantly. If you were having a bad day, her songs just cheer you up and I am not exaggerating any of this. Ask any die-hard fan of hers.
And it is partly the reason why I would love to see her back on the music scene. Other than the fact that she is such a great singer, I think she is also too young to take a backseat. I believe she is 26 or so.
Phy
Understandably, she became a mother and that is one of the challenges that comes with being a female artist but I believe her child is now all grown and she should now make a comeback.
To be honest, her fans like myself, really miss her and if she released a new song today, we would listen to it for the rest of the year. If we can, we will even make it the national anthem. No kidding.
It is really sad seeing such a talented artist just fade away. Phy, if you’re reading this then it’s about time you made a comeback on the local music scene. Enough said.
Kenyan dancehall artist Kevin Waire, alias Wyre, is still a big deal in the country today, more than two decades after he wrote and recorded his first song but have you ever wondered how he has managed to stay relevant up to this very day?
Well, it’s pretty simple. First, he has always stayed true to himself. He has never bowed to pressure to venture into a genre that he’s not really feeling just to stay afloat. He has been churning out dancehall jams from the first day and that won’t change anytime soon.
He also doesn’t hurry to release new songs so as to remain relevant. The Nakupenda Pia hitmaker has a very long catalogue of hits that have kept him on people’s lips. Therefore, he takes all the time he needs with his projects on while performing his old jams.
Wyre
Secondly, Wyre has been consistent since he made his debut in the music industry in the late 90s. In as much as he does not release a new song after a month or two – like most local artists – he also does not go for so long without releasing new music.
He has also constantly expanded his fanbase by working with a number of local and international acts. Some of them are; Nazizi, Kidis, Prezzo, Khaligraph, JB Maina, Benjamin Kabaseke, Nonini, Vigeti, Alaine, Cecile and Morgan Heritage.
Lastly, Wyre has always been disciplined. To date, we’ve never heard a scandal about him neither does he engage in cheap publicity stunts, as is the case with most local artists, to market his music. He relies on the chema chajiuza philosophy and it always works for him.
Kenyan artists should learn a thing or two from him if they want to have careers spanning many years.
Watch his latest collabo with Young Courageous and Janvier dubbed Ruka below.
Save for the likes of Sauti Sol, Khaligraph, Willy Paul, Octopizzo, Nyashinski, Victoria Kimani and STL, I doubt most Kenyan musicians are known beyond our borders and who is to blame?
Sauti Sol
You see, we live in an age where an artist doesn’t have to rely on mainstream media. i.e. TV, radio and newspapers, to grow his or her fan base. As such, we’ll spare the mainstream media in this discourse.
I strongly feel like blame should be apportioned equally on the artists themselves, producers, DJs, fans and video directors. In my opinion, all these people are sleeping on their jobs.
These parties are supposed to play various roles to ensure that Kenyan music transcends our borders but they are slacking.
For instance, why can’t our producers make beats that can be enjoyed by foreign audiences or people who are outside Kenya?
Why can’t our video directors make good videos that are worthy of being played on international music TV shows? Why must they overcharge artists for good videos?
Why can’t our deejays, especially those who play in popular clubs, have Kenyan songs back-to-back on their playlists? Why are they biased towards Tanzanian, Nigerian and South African artists?
DJ Creme playing at a gig
As music fans, why are we not requesting and/or buying Kenyan music? Why are we not showing up for events to show Kenyan artists that are solidly behind them?
Lastly, when will our artists stop being lazy? Why can’t they be proactive? When will they learnt that the biggest secret to success is consistency?
We’ve had this conversation so many times. It has gotten to a point where it is tiring to even talk about these things. It’s time for change!
What are your thoughts on this? Who is to blame? Please leave a comment below.
Michael Kennedy Claver, better known as Naiboi, is without a doubt one of the few music geniuses that we have in the country at the moment. If you ask me, I’ll tell you that he’s way ahead of his time.
I have to admit that I was a little bit worried when I realized that the Pacho Records founder didn’t have a song whose success can be compared to 2018’s 2 in 1 then Sondeka All Stars Remix happened.
Naiboi
If you look at the artists who were featured on the song, from the new-age acts to those who have been in the game for longer, then you’ll appreciate Naiboi’s ingenuity.
Just like 2 in 1 – which was made up of short videos of celebrities singing along to the song – Sondeka All Stars Remix features artists who are constantly on the lips of Kenyans.
They are; Fena Gitu, Mordecai of H_art The Band, Visita, Benzema of Ochunglo Family, Kristoff, Ex Ray of Boondocks Gang, Femi One and Khaligraph Jones.
Khaligraph Jones
Chances are, your favourite artist(s) is among the aforementioned names and this will make you listen to the song, and when you do you’ll realize that it’s actually a masterpiece.
To prove that the project was a brilliant idea, it has not only clocked 300,000 views, which is really good, but it has also been on the top 5 trending songs since it was released.
Naiboi just doesn’t release music like most local artists, every step is well-thought-out and the end result is always amazing.
I don’t know what he is planning next but I can tell you for free that it will be unique and you will be left asking for more. Established artists who are struggling to stay afloat should take a cue form him.
Listen to Sondeka All Stars Remix below and tell us what you think.
Local music rarely transcends borders and to be honest, it’s partly our fault as Kenyans. We don’t appreciate our artists enough. Maybe things would be different if we did, who knows?
Stella Mwangi
Artists from Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and other African countries have been making headways in the international music scene because of the support that they enjoy from their country mates.
This support motivates them to set bigger goals and pursue them. Perhaps this explains why their music industries are way ahead of Kenya and from the look of things it will take us time to catch up.
You could argue that local musicians are not doing enough and that they are not making music which can be played outside Kenya. That notion is wrong and the complete opposite of what is really happening.
If you are keen enough, you’ll notice that the likes of Sauti Sol, Khaligraph, King Kaka, MDQ, Victoria Kimani, Octopizzo, Stella Mwangi, Blinky Bill, have been working hard to show the world that Kenya has so much to offer.
Billy Bill
However, their efforts neither here nor there because we don’t support or encourage them. It’s almost as if they are making music for the sake of it. This should not be the case.
At any given point in time, the biggest song in Kenya is always from Tanzania, Nigeria or some other African country. It’s rarely our own music. We are consuming foreign music at the expense of local music and this is wrong.
If you look at the biggest Kenyan concerts the last few years, you’ll realize that the main performer was either an international act or from Nigeria, Tanzania and the likes. Why is this so?
By giving local artists a chance to be the headline acts of such big concerts, we’ll show them that we have a lot of faith in them. This way, they will be have the confidence to chase even bigger goals.
Another way we could support them is by buying their music and merchandise, showing up for their concerts, sharing their new music releases and encouraging them every chance we get. What would it cost you to send a tweet to your favourite artist telling them to keep pushing? Absolutely nothing!
Khaligraph Jones was good friends with Chris Kantai who passed on back in 2019 following depression which allegedly contributed to his death. Rumour had it that Chris Kantai battled with dark thoughts for a long time; but somewhere along the long he got better and even started making music.
Before his untimely death, the late Chris worked with Khaligraph Jones on a project Ting Badi Malo; that saw his career bloom overnight despite having disappeared from the music scene for years. Rumour however has it that he was not rightfully paid by Khaligraph hence getting back into depression due to the struggles of life.
For the first time Khaligraph Jones opened up about his relationship with the late Kantai adding details as to why he was not allowed to attend the singer’s burial. Speaking to CTA’s Richard Njau, Khaligraph Jones went on to add that Kantai’s mum was made to believe that he was the reason why her son got depressed. Khali said;
The late Chris Kantai
Even after his death a lot of things were said, that ooh Khaligraph you went and worked with him and when he was suffering I just left him to suffer. They are always looking for someone to blame when there is a crisis.
Khaligraph Jones opens up
Although Khaligraph understands that Kantai’s mum was made to believe lies, the rapper has no bad blood with anyone; but he has since learnt how to deal with pressure, criticism among other things that push artists into mental related illnesses.
Do you know I wasn’t allowed to attended his burial in Ngong. Apparently this is what was being said about the whole ordeal; Kantai’s mom was made to believe that I’m the one who made Kantai go through depression and eventually passing.
Although it is hard to tell whether Khaligraph owed the later rapper money; Khali was kind enough to share his side of the story where he distanced himself from the claims. He went on to add that the stories are lies but all in all he already played his part. Speaking about the money issue Khali went on to say;
It is said that I owed him money from the song we did together. That I didn’t pay him and now he passed away and it’s all because of me. And now the mom gave directives that Khaligraph Jones should never be allowed to attend Kantai’s funeral. That is how it happened. It hurts but, it is what it is.
I’m ashamed to say this but the truth is that I first heard of the name Breeder LW when Khaligraph featured him on Khali Cartel 3. He had a dope verse in that jam, if you’ve never listened to it, you probably should.
Anyway, as they say, better late than never. With time, I’ve grown to love Breeder LW’s music and I think he’ll go far if he keeps doing what he is doing at the moment.
Breeder LW
Other than the fact that he has a deep voice, somewhat like Odi Wa Murang’a, as you listen to his songs, you’ll notice that he has a unique flow. Put simply, you just want to keep listening to him as he does his thing.
I don’t know about you but Breeder LW, also known as Bazenga Daddii, reminds me of the days when Calif Records churned out great musical acts. I’m sure if the record label had not collapsed, he would be singed there.
Breeder LW
One of the things that sets him apart from most Gengetone artists is that there is some maturity in his lyrics. He puts a lot of thought into his work, at least that is what I feel when I listen to his tracks.
To add to that, his wordplay skills are on point because he comes up with some of the best rhymes ever. Breeder LW is a natural and I’m happy that Kenyans are now paying attention to his music, if you are not then you should.

Khaligraph Jones remains unapologetic about his latest song dubbed Hao.
The song has been receiving massive attention for days now; as fans look forward to listening to the part where the ‘OG’ dissed Bahati and his wife!
Most social media users were left shocked by how Khaligraph called out a fellow artist; who is not just a husband but a father of 3. Khaligraph shamed him for allegedly letting his wife control and baby him. In the song Khaligraph Jones goes ahead to spit saying;
Khaligraph Jones ft Masauti
Kuwa celebrity ni garama juu wakishakujua ni lawama, Bahati akianza alikuwa mtoto wa mama sahii twitter amegeuziwa yeye ni mtoto wa Diana hakuna huruma siri ni kulenga tu
Khaligraph Jones speaks
However speaking during his Instagram live session, Khaligraph Jones denied dissing Bahati or his wife in the new song.
According to Khaligraph, he was just echoing what many have been saying on Twitter and Instagram!
Rapper, Khaligraph Jones
For him, this was just another creative way to create awareness on the different types of bullying Kenyans on social media have recently been accommodating. He explained himself saying;
“I said Bahati akianza alikuwa mtoto wa mama sahii twitter amegeuziwa ni mtoto wa Diana. First of all, that is not a diss and I’m seeing people who are trying to make it sound or look like Khaligraph Jones is dissing Bahati. I’m just echoing the sentiments of these people on twitter so Bahati manze usijali Khaligraph Jones hakuwa anakudiss,”
Mulamwah exposed as a bully
Khali’s new song drops just a few day’s after Mulamwah announced that he was quitting comedy and the online life as he could no longer handle the bullies!
Comedian Mulamwah
But even before this could settle, fans on social media went all out to expose him as one of the notorious bullies known on social media.
Many felt this was a move to gain sympathy from online fans who already knew the type of person Mulamwah is!
But as far as bullying is concerned in the entertainment; it’s a shame that celebrities are on the forefront encouraging such petty acts just to get noticed.
