Kenyan singer slams Beyonce for ignoring Kenyans in her Lion King album

A Kenyan singer has spoken out loud pretty much what many other Kenyans are thinking regarding the new Lion King Album from Beyonce.

John Katana from the band The Mushrooms, spoke to American blogsite TMZ in an exclusive interview saying that Beyonce should have included Kenyan artists in her album because Lion King was shot in East Africa.

Hakuna Matata

He also added that The Mushrooms came up with the popular Hakuna Matata phrase another reason why they should have at least be included in the project.

“The creatives are complaining saying that a Kenyan act, if not Them Mushrooms, should have been on the album,” said Katana.

“The phrase [Hakuna Matata] came from Kenya, from our band. So everybody feels that Kenya should have been added a piece of the pie.”

Beyonce featured only West African artists in her album a thing Kenyans didn’t like. To make matters worse, Beyonce said the album included the best from Africa.

‘This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa, and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it. We’ve kind of created our own genre and I feel like the soundtrack is the first soundtrack where it becomes visual in your mind. The soundtrack is more than just the music, because each song tells the story of the film.’ she said before it was released.

A man from Kibera is currently on the tending lisRts following a recent report that he enjoys feasting on cockroaches.

Geoffrey Lugai confessed to NTV during an interview that he enjoys eating the insects that mostly scare many people. He confessed that he has been eating the roaches four years now.

“They have proteins and that’s why I enjoy them,” he said in the interview.

Reactions

The video has left Kenyans with mixed reactions as some laughed him off while others begged him not to sell the roaches to people.

Given the direction Kenya is headed, where everything seems poisonous, perhaps cockroaches don’t sound so bad after all.

KTN TV presenter tells homosexuals to seek Jesus for cure: There is no sickness too great for Jesus

Former Tukuza host Kendi Ashitiva has asked the LGBT community to seek Jesus who will cure them.

The gospel singer shared an article on her Facebook page titled “200 ex-LGBT men, women rally to show freedom they’ve found in following Jesus.”

According to the singer, homosexuality is a sin and only Jesus can save them.

“Dear LGBTQ, I told you JESUS CAN FIX IT….. There is nothing he can’t cure. Congratulations to these ones. All our sicknesses moral, physical, emotional he can cure.” she captioned the article. 

In an other post, the presenter many mouths agape after claiming that homosexuality is a sickness. In a long letter, the singer urged gays and Lesbian to go to churches and be cleansed.

Here’s the letter

“Dear LGBTQ folks,

It’s easy to think that the Church hates you, and who knows maybe some of us do or maybe we have not loved you in the way that you want us to love you. Please forgive us. However please note that we love you enough to tell you over and over again from our pulpits and through our courts in Kenya that what you believe as healthy sexuality doesn’t work FOR YOU but AGAINST YOU.

Is the church perfect? Absolutely Not! The church is a hospital, everyone in there is SICK, SICK I TELL YOU and GOD is our GREAT PHYSICIAN. Healing us and fixing our mess with each passing day as we get to know him. Our sicknesses range from lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, murder, abortion, corruption etc. Every nasty thing imaginable, you will probably find it in church. That’s why we are not proud of our sicknesses because we know it’s WRONG. What we do sometimes is wrong no matter how you want to look at it,” read the letter.

“The very intricate design of our bodies is proof of our creator’s magnificent expression of sexuality that is pleasurable, fulfilling and most importantly reproducible(we get to procreate). The woman’s vagina doesn’t struggle to accept a man’s erect penis and truthfully speaking It’s a pretty amazing affair, nothing quite like it. You should try it, I have ????????!

“What we are praying for you to see is that this too is wrong, it’s sick and that it needs fixing and there is no sickness too great for the great physician Jesus and no matter how some of us have painted him as, trust me he is far kinder and nicer than any of us know and he can handle your mess (he sees you showering and he sees you doing it (sex), imagine he can handle it).

“So no matter how you colour it, it JUST DOESN’T WORK GUYS, ONLY ONE WAY WORKS.”

Best episode ever! Marua shaves off Bahati’s dreads Delilah style in new episode of Bahati Reality and Kenyans enjoyed it

Bahati and his wife Diana Marua recently announced their new show “Bahati Reality ” that airs on NTV every Saturday.

Kenyans however, vowed never to watch the show claiming that it’s childish, fake and boring. Apparently, many are taking their words back after watching a few episodes.

In the latest edition, the program had a very interesting scene where Marua and Bahati argued about his recent hairstyle. We all know how Bahati’s fake dreadlocks pissed off many including his wife.

Sneaky

Towards the end of the show, Marua says enough is enough and shaves off the dreads while Bahati is a sleep on the couch.

The scene will sure remind you of the popular bible story of Samson and Delilah, which has the pretty woman shaving his man while he was a sleep to take away his strength.

Fans loved the scene and many in the end applauded the program that was first getting harsh criticisms. We know it’s all fake but…so is Game Of Thrones.

74-year-old watchman dies after allegedly overdosing Viagra

A body of a man was discovered in his house on Saturday morning in what is being believed to be a case of excessive use of Viagra tablets.

Ronald Onduko Ndubi, 74, from Bosaragei Village in Nyamira North Sub County was found dead in his house by his employer Naftal who had come to pay him a visit.

Ndubi, who is a watchman in the area, might have been killed by an overdose of the drug which were found beside next to him.

“We cannot conclude that he used the Viagra but let us wait for the clear information from the investigating agencies so that we can establish the truth behind the death,” said Bosaragei location chief James Ondiba.

Investigation

The chief added that the body had no physical injuries and there was no sign of any other person living in the house.

“We were informed by the employer of the deceased that he had tried to knock severally at Ndubi’s door but there was no response as the door was locked from inside. Neighbours had to break the door only to find the guard dead covered in a blanket. Next to his lifeless body were the Viagra tablets.” 

Fake news! Evidence that the ‘Imenti House’ video was not shot in Kenya

Social media for the better part of yesterday has been buzzing with jokes, memes and curiosity after an alleged sex video found it’s way to several platforms.

The video, which has been trending by the name Imenti House, has two adults engaging in sex in what looks like a clothing store and Kenyans were led to believe it was shot in Nairobi at the popular mall.

Misled

It has now emerged that the clip was not shot at Imenti House in Nairobi. It was shot in America and posted on Twitter way back in April 2018 by a user who has a lot of pornography on his timeline.

Some Kenyan re-shared the video and started claiming it happened at Imenti making it spread like wildfire.

Kenyans then joined the movement and started releasing memes which has really helped the video circulate. Well, most of us got fooled by this one as netizens really believed it was shot it Kenya.

Did TV bosses ‘punish’ Ciru Muriuki for having dread locs? She claims so

Talk about you hairstyle being used against you.

Sometime back, having dread locs was considered a sign that you are a criminal and involved in a lot of ungodly things.

It seems that era has not yet faded completely.

Former NTV The Trend host Ciru Muriuki has come out to hint that her hairstyle was a major reason why she never got better opportunities at Nation Media.

Shave

The TV host, who now works at BBC, claimed that bosses ignored her when it came to promotion and opportunities after they requested her to shave and she rejected.

“I was asked to cut my locs by a boss. I didn’t. Opportunities continued to pass me by at that station. I finally left and now I work at the BBC with my four-year-old UNCUT locs,” Ciru said on social media.

Fans wanted to know which station she was talking about. Some believed it was K24, where she moved after NTV but Ciku said that K24 gave her an opportunity.

 “K24 took a chance on me and I’ll be forever grateful to them.” she said. 

Yes, players are pregnant but won’t miss Championship-Federation comes clean

After a photo stating that the Kenyan Volleyball team might miss the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Japan because all the team members were pregnant, many didn’t believe.

The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has come out to state that the team won’t miss the championship but, it’s true the members are pregnant.

A media presser by the federation shared that five members are actually pregnant but that won’t stop them from heading to Japan to compete.

“We also want to note that the aforementioned (pregnant) players (Brackides Agala, Esther Wangeci, Lydia Maiyo, Mildred Odwako and Ruth Jepngetich) served the national team in the best possible way during their time but have not been drafted in the provisional squad currently training at the Kasarani indoor stadium ahead of the international tournament,” read the statement.

They shot down a photo that has been doing round online stating that they are set to miss the event.

“Therefore, it is really uncalled for to say the team is handicapped when as a country we have amazing talent to choose from.”

Man caught on video beating wife like a dog given a shocking 12 years prison sentence

Daudi Nzomo has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for domestic violence. Nzomo was last week caught on video beating his wife, Winifred Mwende, for allegedly cheating.

The Makueni man became a wanted criminal after the clip went viral and Kenyans begged the government to arrest him. Delivering the judgment, Makueni Senior Principal Magistrate James Mwaniki said he considered Nzomo’s criminal record that shows that he has been violent.

The 35-year-old was arrested in Nguuni, Kibwezi West Constituency after Kenyans’ plea. His mother confessed that he’s been a violent man for a longtime.

Police also arrested those who recorded the clip and watched as Mwende received blows and kicks from an angry Nzomo.

After a man named Daudi Nzomo was caught on camera beating his wife like a stray dog, Kenyans now want another person also caught attacking a drunkard charged.

A video has been doing rounds on social media showing a woman attacking the man who was drunk as a fish. The lady dressed in black attacked him after the chap allegedly refused to pay for his drink.

“Where is my money? Give me money. You have to pay me,” the irate lady repeated as she slapped, kicked and punched the helpless drunkard.

Equality

Some Kenyans argued, however, that it doesn’t matter if the guy didn’t pay since she is assaulting him. The event happened at Kasarani.

Daudi Nzomo finally arrested after video beating wife

Police have managed to arrest Daudi Nzomo, a man from Makueni county who was caught on camera assaulting his wife at Kya-aka village in Muvau.

Kenyans, using social media, begged the police to find the man after his ruthless act which was caught on camera and posted on social media.

Ruthless

Nzomo, 36, was arrested at Nguu market on Thursday, with the help of residents.

“Police had been pursuing him since Tuesday after the video clip went viral,” said Makueni county commissioner Mohammed Maalim. 

The victim, Evelyn Mwende, 33, is at Makueni Level Four Hospital. Earlier reports had stated that she’s was an underage. Nzomo attacked her for allegedly cheating.
