“I can decide to make excuses, listen to what people say, give in to depression. But but I can too decide to hit it so hard at a point of no return, and if it hits back, I fall but never forever. I will keep hitting and it will keep hitting back, but it won’t hit back forever. For I believe, if I have to have it, i have to have it,” he says.

A Mombasa-based man named Rodgers Jasembo has become a trending topic after he took to Facebook to celebrate the death of his friend, Jerry Jalamo who is an a artist.
According to Rodgers, Jalamo, a once a popular vernacular musician, owed him money and had been taking him round and round till the day he passed on. Rodgers said that he’s glad he died.
”Am today feeling happy because this conman is gone after conning me thousands of shillings and avoiding me plus our contract. You can never go anywhere with some else’s money apart from the grave,” Rodgers captioned Jerry’s photos on Facebook.
Glad
The posts didn’t go down well as Kenyans attacked him for being pathetic. Later on, Rodgers came out to explain what really happened and clarify his earlier post. Shockingly, he wasn’t apologetic.
“I know that most of you will not understand this and will continue abusing me but am now forced to go straight to the point, I met this conman this year in March in kisumu and we discussed business, after the agreement that I was to organize for him three shows.” he said.
“He asked for down-payment of those three shows and I gave him exactly the amount of money he requested for, after that I went to Seme Akado to look for the venue for our first show and I got, and after four days I was able to get all the three venues for those three shows and I asked him to send me his photo that he would prefer to be on the poster and he refused and told me that he couldn’t perform because of the amount I paid him and asked me to add him 15k on top of the money I paid him earlier and I told him that I can’t add him any amount because I was the one to pay for the venues, permits, posters, supper for all band members, sound system and their transport so ningeongeza PESA ningeenda hasara, then after that phone call he told me that he will refund me my money back after one week, kumbuka hiyo alisema pekee yake and I said its alright, after one week I called him and a lady picked up the phone and told me that WAS NOT Jerry’s phone number.
“I downloaded true caller and called the same number and the name Was his though he didn’t pick up and I sent him a text message asking for my money but he didn’t text me back, after one month later I lost his number, then I went to club Nilotic BONDO to look for another venue for a different artist (Igwe Prezda Bandason) and I met Jerry again and told him that I lost his phone number and he told me that ako na yangu so atanipigia akishaweka airtime na anitumie pesa yangu pia But he didn’t call me or send me my money,
“I went to Siaya and secured a venue for Bandason at Kitu Moto Club then I went again to BONDO to ask him if he could perform alongside Bandason (kwa ile pesa yangu) and he said no, I asked him his phone number and he said that his phone was off and I left, then we met again coincidentally kwa club ingine BONDO (not Nilotic), he came straight to my table and asked me what I was drinking and I told him Redbull and he bought me 2 then asked me to just keep calm because he was in a meeting with his friends eti atanipigia later and again he didn’t and that was early August this year,
“I never met him again mpaka kifo chake jana, Now am just feeling happy coz alinicon na amekufa sasa hizo PESA hazijamsaidia, so that is how he conned me and I’m actually a happy man now, you can insult me again, I don’t care, tungekutana before akufe ningemsamehe lakini sasa ashaenda so ata niseme nimemsamehe still haitamfikia.”

Cool down

Rich Mavoko signed a contract with WCB in June 2016. The singer was previously signed by Kenyan record label Kaka Empire.
Diamond’s manager Sallam SK Mendez , speaking during an interview on The Playlist on Times FM, said Rich Mavoko was not honest in claiming that WCB was exploiting him.

You might be need to pay at least Ksh 5,000 before you post a video online after Kenya Film Classification Board latest announcement.
The board’s CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, who has quickly gone to a villain from a hero after the new announcement, insists that the laws will been put in place to control online chaos that has been affecting the world in general.
Get a licenses first
Filmmakers will now pay KSH 12,000 for registration and licenses, KSH 5000 for weekly upload, KSH 1000 for the days you film. A fine of 100,000 will be imposed if found Vlogging with a license.
Mutua has however denied that their will be a fine for vloggers.
“Where are people getting the information about Vloggers being licensed? We ran an advert and quoted the relevant sections of the law. Where in this ad does it mention that? KFCB is not charging anyone for You Tube uploads or Social media use. Absolutely not. Our interest is to bring sanity to the film industry by upholding the law as cited hereunder. You can not tell criminals from genuine film makers unless by ensuring that the genuine ones are licensed,” he said.
The announcement has led to a public outcry as creatives have come out to shun the government for killing talent.
So tunalipishwa kushoot video and uploading yet me kuafford hiyo data ni hustle. Somebody stop kenya at the next stop I alight please. #KFCB kindly explain how this will empower the youth again?
So will posting a music video also require me to get a KFCB license? This is going to cripple the already not so lucrative creative industry @InfoKfcb@EzekielMutua
Kenya doesn't care about its young people. From policies and laws making it difficult to make a living to looting in government denying us the future we deserve. But we're to be "patriotic". Respect our thieving leaders. And grateful. And accept we don't succeed coz we're lazy. K

“It is with a heavy heart that we must share the sad news of the passing of one of our closest friends, Sam Kiranga.
“Those who’ve been in the scene long enough know how many stages we shared together, and how many shows we’ve been to in support of each other’s bands. We love him like a brother, and always will.
“In the hearts and souls of all the people who have had the pleasure of working, playing and being a part of the amazing music he created, he will most certainly live on.
“Please take a moment of silence to honour a great guitarist, singer-songwriter, band mate, but more importantly, friend.

Seems like rapper Khaligraph is not taking a rest any time soon.

The two have released their latest collabo called “Halima” that is already taking over the airwaves. Singer Gabu knows what he drinks, how much it costs and always pays for it. That’s it. unless he has promised to buy you some alcohol, he’s not ready to pay for your bills not matter your current financial situation.
Clarifying rumors that he doesn’t pay bills in clubs, Gabu said he only clears his own bills though in many instances, people also want him to settle theirs. Forget his corny lines in his club bangers where he claims he doesn’t settle bills.
“Music is music, when I go out with you I know I will pay and buy for you,” said Gabu when adressing the issue. “But when you come where I am and start ordering things because Gabu is there, Gabu is not your father. I pay what I drink. Even if my friends come with girls, they will sort them out I am not a charity.”
Beating women
The singer, who has just released “Simple Lover”, had one more thing that he wanted to clarify: he respects women. Rumors suggested that he attacked a waitress at a popular club but Gabu said he was just in the wrong place at the time and was blamed because he was a familiar face.
“I was in the right place at the wrong time, guys were fighting and because I am the one who is known, ikakuwa ni Gabu. I appreciate and respect women.” he added.
