Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption affecting various areas across 11 counties on Thursday, aimed at facilitating system maintenance.

In Nairobi, several areas including Naivasha Road, Kikuyu Road, and Waithaka will experience power outages from 9 am to 5 pm. Similarlyin Kiambi, parts of Limuru Town Shopping Centre, Githongoti, Kwambira Equity, Manguo, Ngarariga, Nyambare, Rufus, Ngarariga Girls, Murengeti, Nyambare and adjacent customers. Other affected regions include Namanga Town and Bisil in Kajiado County, Lingwai and Bindura in Uasin Gishu County, and Kinyoro and Kisawai in Trans Nzoia County, all experiencing interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm.

Power outages are scheduled to affect several areas in five counties of Kenya on Tuesday, October 17, from 3:00 AM to 5:00 PM, according to a notice issued by the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) on Monday evening.

The affected counties are Kiambu, Kajiado, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, and Mombasa.

In Kiambu County, parts of Ting’ang’a and Ngemwa will be without power between 3:00 AM and 5:00 PM, while parts of Muthiga and Magana will be affected between 2:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

In Kajiado County, parts of Ngong and Kibiko will be affected between 3:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Part of Bombolulu Street in Mombasa County will also be affected by the power cut.

In Nyeri County, parts of Ichamara, Ngoru, Kiganjo, and Kirichu will lack electricity between 2:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Part of the town of Kutus and the area of KTI University will be affected by power cuts between 3:00 AM and 10:00 AM.

KPLC has not provided a reason for the power outages, but it is likely that they are related to maintenance or repair work on the electricity grid.

Customers in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements to minimize the disruption to their activities.
