Kartelo steps out of his comfort zone, blesses fans with new entertaining content

Kartelo is one of those celebrities who don’t need introduction, I mean both him and Modesto have made a name for themselves through comedy, YT show dubbed Rieng radio and through music.

Tbt: Kartelo

However from my understanding, they may have lost touch with fans in 2020 after the Covid pandemic happened; and just like other youngins in the gengetone industry – they suffered a big blow (money wise) since there were shows, no sponsors and worse no savings!

Around the same time, Kartelo and Chipukeezy fell out…a story that’s yet to be told – since both parties remain silent about their lost friendship; but hopefully in future they might open up about it.

Back like he never left

Anyway with the struggles and a new mindset on how he will handle his finances – Kartelo is back featuring VDJ Jones and one Lucci Kingpin on a new jam dubbed Kwa news.

From the lyrics – you can tell they are singing about alcohol maybe not the best content; but again, they’re just using their creativity to givie fans what they want.

Apart from the eye catching visuals (no naked girls featured, thank God) the boys (allow me to call them that) got creative by including Mashirima Kapombe‘a name on the song…. and from the comment section fans loved this!

Having grown up in the ghetto it’s quit humbling to see how they’ve picked themselves up despite the setbacks; and are back to making an honest living through music. Checkout the new music below.

Kartelo Explains Why He Quit Radio And Stopped Creating Content

Karetol’s short video clips filled with numerous and unique sheng caught the attention of many Kenyans; who nick named him ‘Sheng master’. Karelo, whose real name is Nick Chege, became and internet sensation to most Kenyans, but all was short lived after he stopped creating content.

Kartelo Speaks

Turns out, Kartelo became a busy man. To begin with, Kartelo joined radio, Milele FM, where he stayed for over a year. Speaking on Mungai’s YouTube channel, Kartelo disclosed;

”Niliondekea kitu ka 2 months ago. Nimekuwa Milele for over one year plus. Nilitoka juu ya management ilichange. Kuna ile management yenye nilikuwa naskizana nayo. So, ule head of radio mwenye alikuwa hiyo time, ni msee alikuwa ana support dream yangu na ile kitu nataka kudu.”

Kartelo called it quits afterwards. In addition, Kartelo was also a co-host in Chipukeezy’s show, where he stayed for months. Later on, the two split up and it was speculated that their separation was a nasty one. However, both of them cleared up the rumours and claimed there’s no bad blood between them.

In addition, Kartelo became a young parent, and welcomed his baby daughter a few months ago. Kartelo is yet to speak about his comeback onto the screens, but most of his fans are eager to see him back.

Emotional Kartelo opens up about the death of his first born daughter

Entertainer Kartelo says he was born and raised in the ghetto; and the tough life helped him mature abit too fast compared to his age mates.
Growing up in such an area exposed him to drugs, unhealthy lifestyle and of course premature sexual behavior.

By the time he was in form four; his then girlfriend had already gotten pregnant and was expecting a baby girl.

Kenyan comedian Nick Chege alias Kartelo

Being the father, Kartelo manned up and decided to take up the responsibility; but unfortunately this never happened as the two lost baby while in hospital.

Opens up about late daughter

According to the guy, he first became a father while in form four; but this was only for a few hours, as the newborn succumbed to a few complications that came after birth.

Since then, Kartelo says he walked around with so much guilt; and his only option was to get another baby immediately; however he thanks God that he took his time before planning for the next baby.

Comedian Kartelo welcomes first child

Just like any other parent, the comedian says that he still thinks of his child; but is grateful to his current girlfriend who welcomed their first child together a few months ago.

Kartelo’s story comes shortly after his return to the entertainment industry; months after he allegedly fell off with best friend comedian, Chipukeezy.

Finally a savior! Willis Raburu offers to support Kartelo and the all other Gengetone artists

Willis Raburu is not just a presenter but an artist. About a year ago we saw the Citizen TV host drop a banger ‘wabebe’ featuring Rekless and other gengetone artists; and truth is – we loved it.

For the first time Kenyan artists were finally finding a genre they can identify themselves with. With Tz being known for Bongo music, Kenya was now all about Gengetone. At first it all good and apart from the nudity, vulgar lyrics and drugs that kept turning many off; at least Kenyan music was finally getting some recognition.

However after Corana pandemic happened, the Gengetone music industry started to slowly fade away; and before we could notice this – most artists i.e Ethic, sailorz and even Kartelo himself stopped making headlines like before.

Kartelo speaks

Speaking about his experience as an artist from the Ghetto; Kartelo this past weekend opened up about some of the struggles boys his age have been going through since they became famous.

According to the guy, there are people who had been working overtime to kill the Gengetone industry; forgetting that this is the same industry that has helped reduced crime in the society.

Kartelo

He went on to give examples of how Ethic’s Swat inspired ‘youngins’ to invest in their talents whether music or dancing; and just when things were looking up – some powerful cartels decided to wipe them off meaning most would resume to the life of crime.

Willis Raburu offers to help

Well, it’s not clear as to how Kartelo’s down fall came so fast especially with friends like Chipukeezy around; but all I know is that there is something the young artist is not telling his fans.

Probably this is because he cannot snitch on his former friend; but with time – fans are pretty sure Kartelo will open up about his downfall.

Anyway seeing how Kartelo and others have hit rock bottom after their short lived fame; Willis Raburu has promised to step in to ensure these boys don’t go back to their old habits of theft and dealing drugs. Through his gram the Citizen TV host said;

Honestly felt so passionate about this story that @kartelo_official has shared about the struggles that artists face. It really hurts and I’m going to do all I can to do something about it. BAZU

Well – this is just a promise, but let’s see what BAZU has in store for the youngins.

Kartelo Urges Kenyans To Support Gengetone Music, Says Youths Depend A Lot On It To Make A Living

Where did Gengetone music go to? This has been the question by most people after a noticeable drought of the juiced up music genre. Gengetone music rose to fame between the year 2018 to 2019 and was the genre that almost everyone was jamming to.

Ethic, Ochungulo Family and Sailors were the most famous Gengetone groups during that period. More and more groups started coming up shortly after and entertained the nation with their sheng lyrics and hyped music beats. The unique entertainment from the genre is now depreciating tremendously. Only a handful of songs manage to perform well nowadays.

We have witnessed some members pulling out of their groups; such as Ochungulo Family; who splitted up with Benzema; and Sailors, who parted ways with Lexxy Yung, who decided to go to gospel.

Kartelo Speaks

Without a doubt, the genre is mostly characterized by young artists with impeccable knowledge on the sheng language; and this is why the ‘sheng master’ Kartelo wants more support for these artists.

Speaking on his social media, Kartelo claimed that most youths are depending on such to feed their families. He urged Kenyans not to be happy about downfall of the youths; but instead support them by any means.

This was after he went silent for a long period and made people to speculate that he was on drugs. Turns out, everything is good on his side; all he wants is support. Kartelo featured in Gengetone songs such as ‘Kimonyoski’. Maybe there’s more to come.

Sheng Master Kartelo Finally Speaks On His Whereabouts.

Comedian and sheng guru Kartelo, real name Nickson Chege, has finally come out after a long period of silence. The young comedian’s whereabouts was becoming a concern to most Kenyans. Rumours circulated that drugs made him lose focus on his radio career, which didn’t last for long.

The comedian was Co-hosting ‘Chipukeezy Show’ alongside Chipukeezy; who promised his fans that the show will be back.

Being a young father has also kept Kartelo busy. His 1 year old daughter has been keeping both him and his girlfriend busy throughout.

Kartelo’s Whereabouts

Opening up about his whereabouts, Kartelo has denied any claims of engaging himself in drug abuse; and says all is well. He divulged this alongside comedian Mulamwah, who visited him;

 ”Mimi niko tu… Hakuna ngori. Si lazima kukuwe na ngori. Unajua mimi apart from kukuwa msanii, mimi ni baba ya msee, mi ni mtoi wa msee… Ukiwa msee mjanja lazima upige shughuli zako. Department zako zote pia lazima zikaange zikiwa fine.”

Kartelo continued to add that he can’t refuse any financial assistance from Kenyans;

”Unajua mimi ni msapere siwezi kataa. Wewe ukitaka kueka weka tu. Haina mambo, mimi nitafurahi.”

He however refused to disclose any details about his radio station ‘Rieng Radio’.

Kartelo flaunts 4 month old Ethiopian daughter leaving many with baby fever (Video)

Funny man Kartelo who has been working tirelessly to build up his career welcomed his first child with girlfriend; Fahima Nassir 4 months ago and like any new dad, he went on to introduce the adorable baby to his IG followers!

The thought of him becoming a father was however received with mixed feelings; considering most of his female fans knew nothing about his girlfriend. However after the baby arrived, Kartelo had no option but to make his relationship with Fahima public!

So far we know that the lady is Kenyan and half Ethiopian meaning that her genes played such an important role in the making of their baby, Twyla. This after the new video showing how beautiful the baby girl keeps getting emerged on Ms Fahima’s page.

Well since it takes two to make a child, we can’t wait to see whether the baby will continue taking after her mother; or whether Kartelo’s genes will pop up as she keeps getting older with time.

However as for now, Fahima seems quite excited and happy with her journey to motherhood; and that fact that she gave him a beautiful daughter even makes her more special.

“Mimi nishaidate njege!” Miracle baby shares stories of his police officer girlfriend

Kartelo has to be given credit for his radio show dubbed; Rieng Radio that has been doing quite well on YouTube!

For those who have come across the videos already understand how lit the show is; and now that Sailor’s Miracle baby aka Peter has partnered as the co host; these two boys continue to entertain fans and the Youths through their show.

What makes Rieng Radio unique is the fact that these young men have been sharing experiences of life in the hood; and for the cool who have never seen this side of life may think they (Kartelo and Miracle) get their ideas from movies.

In their latest episode dubbed police brutality Kartelo as usual drops his one two jokes before Peter Miracle baby reveals that he dated a police woman.

Nick Chege aka Kartelo

Living as a police woman’s boyfriend

According to Miracle baby, he dated a female cop back in  the day but it wasn’t so easy! For the first he narrated his story saying;

Mimi nikuwa nadate dame karao before nikue snitch. unachecki jo wanakuanga very demanding! Anaeza kuja akuambie mara moja.

However according to Kartelo, the woman Miracle baby is talking about was in the KDF and not armed forces! As much as this sounds as a joke, in the comment section a few fans felt that the confession might have been true.

Unlike what many know is that some few of these young men from the ghetto end up getting involved with cops; but this never gets out to the public.

Although the two could have shared more information on the topic,it appears that they opted not to; probably for security reasons. Anyway checkout the detailed post below courtesy of Kartelo’s channel.

Gengetone gospel should not become a thing!

There is a new music genre called Gengetone gospel and as much as it slaps so hard, I just hope it does not become a thing because it just seems like a mockery of God. Actually, it is.

It all started when Bahati released a song dubbed Taniua with Boondocks Gang which is made up of Ex Ray, Maddox and Odi Wa Murang’a. They are the guys behind hits such as Mboko Haram, Rieng and Kidolee.

Mr Seed followed suit with Kwa Hao alongside Vuva 34 GVNG, Breeder LW, Maddox, Dezian and Kartelo. I know it is only a matter of time before Willy Paul drops his.

Sooner or later upcoming artists will think its okay to release such songs because their role models and the bigwigs in the industry are doing so and it is then that things will get out of control.

I don’t know about you but I think the fact that gospel musicians are tasked with spreading God’s word should mean something.

They should not mix the gospel with all these dirty songs. It is completely wrong. I did not say that I have a problem with Gengetone, I enjoy it probably more than you but just not when associated with God’s word.

Bahati

A few days ago, I was watched an interview where Bahati why he did a collabo with Boondocks Gang and he said that he is trying to win them over to Christ.

What a joke. Their song was motivated by the need to make money and grow their fan bases. As such, it;s very wrong for Bahati to claim that he is leading Boondocks Gang to Christ because they will continue to make raunchy music.

Even in the song where Bahati featured them, Boondocks Gang threw in some coded and dirty Sheng words and they made me wonder what motivated them to poke fun at God and shoot the video in a Church to rub it in his face.

Watch Taniua below by Bahati and Boondocks Gang.

Ladies! Comedian Kartelo opens up about his ideal woman

Comedian cum radio presenter Kartelo also known as Nick Chege has been doing quite amazing for himself!

Nick Chege aka Kartelo

With the help of his best friend Chipukeezy, Kartelo has been able to make silent money moves on the low; letting his successful career makes the noise for him!

Anyway, just recently Kartelo got to open up about his ideal lady since the love season is upon us. Unlike many men who go for physical  appearance or how wealth – Kartelo is looking for totally different qualities.

Kartelo’s dream lady!

Speaking about the type of lady he wants, Kartelo says that he wants a female police officer! According to him, he wants the polite female officers in charge of Occurrence Book (OB) at a police station. He went on to say;

Kartelo

This comes a few weeks after Chipukeezy sent him a special congratulatory message after landing a job at Milele FM. Chipukeezy who is quite close with Kartelo wrote;

So proud of this soldier wasee wote wa ghetto Shagz wale manze bado wamekwama me nataka kuwaencourage manze unaeza toboa na hustle yako tu tia bidii usilale penda Mungu na atakubariki. Kama umekuja Nairobi kutoka shagz nab ado mlango hazijafunguliwa usikate tamaa, toka hapo nje ijenge nyumba zako na ugungulie utajipata umefungulia hao wasee walikuwa wamekufungia big up @kartelo_official wish you well. Don’t try to fit in kasee be you this Nairobi life you see ni kama moto ya pasi iwezi pika chapatti so wasikutishie. GHETTO YOUTH STAND UP walifunika sasa tufunue

This is where Chipukeezy and Kartelo will now be airing their show after leaving Ebru TV

Comedian Chipukeezy and Kartelo have officially moved from Ebru TV and will now be airing the program on Youtube.

On social media, Chipukeezy made the announcement that the show will now be posted on Youtube and will be used as a platform for nurturing talent.

He also added that the recording will be shot in National theater and schools.

”Chipukeezy Show is going back to where it started. The live recordings will be happening every Monday but the show will be aired on my YouTube channel Chipukeezy TV. The live recordings will also happen outside Nairobi as we will visit universities, high schools, counties and even diaspora i.e, Dubai, USA, Qatar,” he added.

Away

The comedian also added that the show will have to take a one month break because he’s currently in Tanzania shooting a movie.

“I am away in Tanzania for one month shooting a movie ..Once i get back to Nairobi live recordings will resume immediately ….God mbele wasee,” he said.

Ebru TV responds to Chipukeezy’s post which claims Kartelo was fired for his ‘Ghetto’ character!

A few hours ago Chipukeezy shared an alarming post claiming that Ebru TV was no longer going to air his ‘Chipukeezy show.’

Kartelo

Apparently Ebru TV sent him an email asking him to terminate his contract with Kartelo since the show had become too ghetto for their viewers. He however says he couldn’t let the fella go and for this reason decided to pull out of his agreement with the TV station as he hopes to find one that will accommodate his team.

Ebru TV denies firing Kartelo for being ‘ghetto’

We at Ghafla reached out to Ebru TV who opened up about the situation. It turns out that Kartelo had apparently been given a project to work on but failed to deliver.

According to our close source, Kartelo had already been paid in full but failed and to deliver which forced the station to terminate any appearances of Kartelo on Ebru TV.  Our source went on to reveal saying;

Two Day ago Ebru Tv had an disagreement with Kartelo on a project because he had been paid to push and promote an Online Advertisement which he failed to deliver according to our expectations. But as per on Thursday 22/8/2019 he had not posted any of the adverts on his platforms. Based on this the corporation felt that this is negligence of duty and contract not adhered. We have not fully delivered to the client and given value of their money.  So hence forth the management terminates any appearances of Kartelo on Ebru TV.

Did Chipukeezy lie about the the contents in the email he was sent by Ebru TV?

From the documents that we have it has been stated no where that Kartelo has been removed because of his Ghetto Character. And because of this Chipukeezy terminated his contract, Is it because he knows he can’t get viewership anymore so he’s looking for “Pity views”? And from The post that Chipukeezy made on his Instagram I believe that’s self interest because Ebru Tv has been known for supporting local talent before even the ChipukeezyShow started.

Well there you have it!

Rico Gang has teamed up with Kartelo on a new banger dubbed ‘Kimonyoski’ and we love it (Video)

Rico Gang, the group that is famed for songs such as F*ck Boy and Chachisha, is back with a brand new banger that we can’t get enough of.

The group, which is made up of Triand Rands, Gray Cee and Harry Craze, has featured popular comedian Kartelo in their new jam titled Kimonyoski.

Kimonyoski is a sheng word which means a group of people who like to have fun i.e. partying and whatnot.

Kartelo

If you are a fan of Kartelo then you’ve probably heard him saying ‘mbogi ya kimonyoski’. It’s part of his signature greeting.

He often says, “Oya oya oya eeh mimi unaweza niita Kartelo ama unaweza niita kwako, mbogi ni kimonyoski hitilafu sacco inna di area representing.”

Rico Gang’s new banger is based on Kartelo’s greeting but I have to say that the execution was above par. Of course, they added some words to spice up.

I was really impressed by the lyrical flow and the worldplay in the song. However, I have to admit that Gray Cee’s part really stood out. There’s just something about this lass that makes you want to listen to her over and over.

The beat by Waka Waka was also on point. Although the producer isn’t quite known, I think people should keep an eye on him.

Watch Kimonyoski below and tell us what you think. You might need your earphones for this!
