We are all happy for Kambua, I mean who isn’t?

We all know that gospel music hitmaker Kambua Manundu really struggled to get a child for a long time, so much so that she was publicly mocked  by some of her fans, well, critics.

Six years into her marriage with Jackson Mathu, she had not gotten a child and that left many wondering what could be wrong because unwritten African traditions, one is supposed to get a child within a year after tying the knot.

You see, Kambua has never been controversial, she is one of the gospel artists that no one has anything bad to say about. So and interestingly, people were wondering whether she had ‘wronged God’

I remember when she announced her first pregnancy in circa 2019, the internet literally broke. No kidding. People could not stop congratulating her, even those who had bashed her for being childless.

She often shares photos of her son whom she named Nathaniel Muhoro and many people, including your truly beam with joy. Kambua often refers to him as a miracle and I could not agree more.

We thought she was done but apparently, she is now pregnant with her second child. You know the saying that goes, “when it rains, it pours?” There is no better example than Kambua’s case.

Who knows, she might just decide to have her third child next year but didn’t God command humans to multiply and fill the earth?

I am happy for Kambua, as I’m sure you all are. She is like Sarah in the Bible who waited for so many years before she was blessed with the fruit of her womb. Enough said.

‘My father was not a witch doctor’ Kambua forced to defend family business

Gospel singer Kambua comes from a family that is known for selling herbal drugs. Her late dad, Professor Manundu, was among the first in Kenya to sell herbal drugs through his company Tabibu Cures International.

Many know Tabibu Cures International from its shows on TV when Manundu used to have a show talking about herbal drugs.

With that said, singer Kambua wanted Kenyans to understand that her dad was not a witch doctor, but a natural physician.

“We are an alternative medicine provider and not waganga as often misinterpreted. We use nature to advise people on how they can supplement the modern medicine with diet and well living,” she said.

Taught us persistence

She went on to add that her dad taught her to be resilient and persistent. She also added that she now runs their company and is glad her father taught her the business.

“My dad was a special human being. There was no impossibility in his life. He made everything seem so easy, so doable that sometimes I wonder how I managed to do it all. No doubt he left too big a pair of shoes for anybody to ever fit in,” she said. 

She added:

“My brother and I took over Tabibu cures ministries and many times, we keep referring to ‘How dad would have done this or that’. I miss him alot but I am grateful for the time spent with him.”

 

Kambua reveals why she left Mr Seed pending for three years before finally working with him

Gospel singer Kambua has revealed that working with Mr Seed was an idea that came up almost three years ago but had to wait for several reasons.

Speaking to Adele on Kiss FM, the singer revealed that Mr Seed wanted a collabo but she had to wait for three years because of her image. The two have just released their new song dubbed “Happy.”

“Kambua alikua ananiplayiatu star (Kambua was just playing mega star to me), and I had to explain to her that it is true gospel,” said Mr Seed.

Kambua in defense, said that jumping from one collabo to another would have made her look bad.

“It is the first time we have done a song together, although it has been three years since Mr Seed approached me to collabo with him. You get so many people who want to collabo with you, and so if you just go and say yes, you might become the collabo artiste of the year, you know. I had to space my collabos.” she said. 

On why Mr Seed wanted her so bad in her song, he said: “I love her voice and so we just connected so well and thank God, it finally came naturally.”

Gospel singers Mr Seed and Kambua Manundu have teamed up for their new song titled ‘Happy’.

The two have been hyping fans and on Saturday they finally released the song which is already getting airplay all over.

Taking social media, Mr Seed penned a lovely letter thanking Kambua for working with him. It’s the first time the two artists have hit the studio together and their work is just lovely.

Kambua shares how her ex-boyfriend used to ruthlessly body shame her

Gospel singer Kambua has had her own fair share of disappointments in relationships. Several times the lady, who has been married for almost 6 years now with no kids, has come out to shun Kenyans attacking women in marriages that have not been blessed with a baby.

Recently she also touched on the issue of ladies battling with body image issues, sharing her boyfriend shamed her for being plump.

“Many years ago, I was dating his guy, I was living life on the chubbier side of life. i was a lot heavier than i am now. i was fresh from high school and i met this guy, we liked each other so we started dating,” kambua said.

She went to add that her man kept on body shaming her and didn’t bother to help her check her weight or habits.

“But this guy has a serious issue with my weight. And he was constantly showing me different exercises. He has a lot of advise to give me. It did not bother me too much. There was a time he said something like, ‘You finished a whole chapo by yourself? A whole chapo?’”

“That was like strike two and a half. Strike three was this one time we were going out for a late lunch we went to a fast food place so he bought one piece of chicken for me, one for himself and a pack of fries for us to share.

Be with someone who celebrates you

“So, please keep in mind that i’m already conscious about my weight, what i eat around this guy because of what he said about the chapo. We start eating, i’m eating very slowly nibbling on my chicken taking a fry here and there, then halfway through the meal he goes like ‘i don’t think you should eat any more fries.’

She continued, “He takes the rest of the pack and continued to eat. So i just swallowed a kiwaru, literally. As i’m eating my chicken, he goes like, are you going to finish that, k? And i handed my chicken over to him. Everything inside me, it was like a mixture of balancing my tears, feeling humiliated, hungry and angry.”

Adding, “The relationship, obviously did not last. What I learnt from it is, don’t be with someone who body shames you be with someone who celebrates who you are in every season of your life.

Kambua: Stop making people feel ‘less than’ because they’re not moms by choice or by circumstance

Gospel singer Kambua is not happy how Kenyans treat women without kids. Being one of them after staying for almost 6 years in marriage without a baby, Kambua wanted people to stop mocking such women.

“Motherhood is a calling. A great one. But it’s not the only one. Stop all this kosokoso of making people feel “less than” because they’re not moms, by choice or by circumstance.” Kambua tweeted.

This is not the first time she has talked about being childless. While speaking to Amina Abid on the trend, she shared that guys have been bullying her on the issue on social media.

“People will have an opinion over everything, over children. Today I saw a comment and deleted it because this guy commented on my Instagram and he says ‘When are you going to get pregnant, you’re getting old. I remember thinking, the reason why it angers me is that people don’t even know what your journey is like. They don’t know what you’re struggling with. They don’t know if you even want to have children. They don’t know if you can have children and there are so many people especially today who are struggling with infertility. It so unfortunate that we become such a culture of being so intrusive and putting people down. Shaming each other on things like that. I would wish that people would be sensitized. I have people who are close to me who might not be at the forefront like I am but who go through that every day.” She said.

Kambua opens up on being childless in her marriage

Gospel singer Kambua has been in the headlines several times concerning her marriage in which has not been blessed by a child yet.

During Mother’s Day she posted an emotional post sharing that it hasn’t been easy being married and not having a kid. She has been married for six years now.

Here’s what she said:

“I have debated ALL day about whether I should write this post or not??. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you wonderful moms out there. We love you ?. But I’ve been thinking about a special group of women- those with open hearts and empty wombs. Some because of illness, infertility, others miscarriage, and infant loss. Women who, beneath the pomp and flair, secretly dread #mothersday because it is a constant reminder of what they don’t have, what they lost, or what they may never have,” she said.

“Well, I don’t have the luxury of living a “private” life, and have often been the subject of ridicule and mockery for being “childless”. Reminds me of Hannah and Penninah. You see, painful as it was, Hannah needed Penninah to provoke the situation. And God moved to show Himself strong in Hannah’s life. Beloved, I don’t know what category you fall under- the infirm woman, the infertile, the barren, the angel mom (just respond with a ?)… what I do know is this: God’s ways are good, and they are perfect. Gospel singer Kambua has had different encounters on social media with her fans. In a long post, the singer explained why she’s trying to filter some of the things people say to her and why she has now disabled the comment sections on her Instagram.

Blurring the noise

The singer shared that it’s time she kills the different noises affecting her life and focus on what only makes her better.

“*Long post alert* So for the last couple of weeks I decided to disable my comments on most of my pictures. I know it frustrated some of you and I appreciate all who slid into my DM to find out what the deal was. Anyway, this is it. I have been feeling for a while that there are many voices in my life. Most, well-meaning, but still, many. It’s so easy to lose yourself even to the applause and admiration of people. Social media is such a crazy place I must say! One moment you’re crucified, and the next your praises are sang,” she said.

Adding:

“Whoa. Such a confusing place to be! I’m learning how to be still. How to be OK without the applause… without the noise. I’m learning that sometimes the voice of The Shepherd can be drowned out by other voices; by the wind, and the storms. And that sometimes The Shepherd speaks, but we cannot possibly hear Him above the racket. So how about you try it. For me, it’s the socials. For you, maybe it’s noise from somewhere else that you just need to tune out for a while. He is always speaking…are you listening? Love always.”

Singer Kambua is not really a show off but says she’s a huge spender. The singer recently opened up on some of the most expensive things she owns and surprisingly it’s not what many expected.

In an interview with Malkia Africa, Kambua shared the most expensive thing she has ever bought is not her car, house or phone but her wedding dress.

“The most expensive thing I ever bought was probably my wedding dress. I fell in love with the dress and I was like ‘okay we have to make it happen’.”  Kambua said.

Stopped being extravagant

The singer also narrated that has stopped spending like she used to. She blamed loneliness for her spendthrift habits.

“I would describe myself as a recovering spendthrift. I got into a crazy habit of shopping while in college because I lived away from home and it was very lonely.” she said.

It’s been four years now since gospel singer Kambua lost her dad, Professor Manundu, but it still feels like yesterday to her. The singer has always posted emotional messages on social media as she struggles to move on from the sad memories brought about by his death.

She recently took to social media to share a deep message expressing what she’s feeling and how life has been ever since he left this world. According to her latest post, Kambua shared that she feels empty and broken ever since he passed.

“09/04/2018. 4 years my Baba. 4! I still feel so so lost without you. My heart breaks every time I think of you. I miss your laugh, your random songs, your booming voice, your smile. I miss you my friend. My day 1. My daddy. I carry you in my heart always. Keep resting in peace ?” She captioned a photo on Instagram.

 

Kambua addresses lack of children in her marriage 6 years after she tied the knot

Kambua Manundu has been forced to talk about her marriage thanks to trolls. The Citizen TV presenter married Pastor Jackson Mathu in a colorful garden wedding held at Windsor Golf Club in 2012.

Kambua has had to deal with critics for the 6 years she has been married. Trolls throw shades at her because she married a man who is much older than her.

Kambua addressed lack of children in her marriage during an interview with Amina Abdi. She confessed she has had a very difficult time dealing with people castigating her about not having kids.

“People will have an opinion over everything, over children. Today I saw a comment and I deleted it. This guy commented on my Instagram and said ‘When are you going to get pregnant, you’re getting old,” said Kambua.

Kambua is perplexed why people jump into conclusions without considering that it could be her choice not to have children.

“They don’t know if you want to have or can have children and they don’t really care for you. We have become a culture that is so intrusive and putting people down and I would wish people would be sensitized,” said Kambua.
