Age is nothing but a number and you will understand this after seeing how Julie Gichuru dresses up and wears her hair.
The former TV anchor – who is now 43 years has been inspiring many young ladies with how she carries herself (in terms of fashion) and career wise.
She is undeniably beautiful and still keeps getting younger with the years. Well, this can be seen in her new hair do that has left many admiring her. Julie Gichuru has now switche up her hair from dark brown or rather black to blonde with a touch of black and boy does she look beautiful!
Looking at the photo it is easy to say that the lady is still in her early 30’s and I guess this is because she understands the importance of keeping her looks interesting. Checkout the new photo below;
Former TV queen Julie Gichuru a few hours ago revealed that she has been making several trips to the hospital to get her son checked – as he had a unique medical issue.
Though she chose not to disclose what her little one was going through, Julie Gichuru was kind enough to let her fans know that he had undergone a successful procedure and was now feeling much better. She wrote saying;
Been through a series of difficult days looking into a unique medical issue with our little one. Finally, done with a key procedure today. So relieved and thankful for God’s enduring grace, mercy, love and blessings. Please if you notice anything odd, irritating, uncomfortable or unusual with yourself or your child, don’t procrastinate. Ask questions. Seek professional answers. Do your research too. Don’t take chances. Take appropriate action. The earlier you deal with an issue, the better. Be well. Love. Light. Blessings.
The anchor also happened to share a photo while at the hospital and the likes of Maina Kageni and fellow journalists couldn’t help but wish him quick recovery. Checkout the photo below;
Julie Gichuru and her hubby sure know how to spend quality time together, they decided to test their endurance by taking cold bath together.
Cold bath improves emotional resilience, reduces stress, increases alertness and in sports it’s used in therapy to speed up recovery; the reason why world best football player Cristiano Ronaldo always takes ice baths at 3am.
Julie Gichuru and her husband Anthony Gichuru also decided to try the ice bath therapy. The two lovebirds stripped down to boxer and bikini before they got in a special bathtub which had freezing water and ice.
The former Citizen TV anchor claimed her hubby and her stayed in the freezing bathtub for a record 25 minutes. She cautioned her fans against trying it without professional advice.
“Ice bath #Brrrrrrr #Us ? Mr G can go up to one hour ??? I am up to 25 minutes. (please don’t try it without professional advice),” Julie Gichuru wrote.
(N/B Ice bath can cause Hypothermia – a condition that occurs when your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature.)
When you are a media personality, many will always look for something negative to say about you. And for this reason, I believe many have heard stories claiming that Julie Gichuru once had a tough phase in her marriage…. where she was being beaten by her husband, Tony Gichuru.
However speaking to Kalekye Mumo on Talk Central – Julie Gichuru for the first time came out to brush off the stories by saying that the allegations were baseless and cooked up just to keep people talking about her marriage. She said,
“Are we still in that one? (Rumor) for real? Let me let down those who wanted me to be battered, not a day in his life. That is number one. Number two, you hit me one time, you will never see the front of my face again, you will see the back of me for a few seconds, and that’s it! I don’t believe that any woman should accept any kind of violence; let alone physical violence, talk to me wrong! Talk to me wrong. No No No!”
She went on to add that she has been happily married to Tony Gichuru for 18 years and has not regretted ever being with him.
According to her Mr Gichuru treats her like a queen and since her love towards him has never changed – she sees him as the king of her heart
“Let me say something else. I love and respect my husband. In my home, my husband is the king. He will come home and feel happy and feel comfortable and he will make me feel like a queen. If you are in a family where two people are not getting along, sometimes the difficult decision, especially for children is to say maybe we don’t jump maybe we need to step back”
The two continue to remain as one of the most influential couple we have come across in the entertainment industry.
Former TV queen Julie Gichuru might have taken a break from the hustles of reporting news but she continues to explore the media industry with her projects that have seen her go far.
Away from the TV life, Julie Gichuru has always kept her life on the low leaving many of her fans wondering what she does. Well, just recently she shared a new video to show off her basket ball skills but what caught my attention is the huge mansion seen in the background of the video.
I believe that she was playing in her compound and the building might actually be where she lives with her family. Though the video does not show the house that clearly…there is no doubt Julie Gichuru and her family are definitely enjoying life in one of Nairobi’s finest suburbs.
The sentencing of three Githurai matatu crew accused of stripping and robbing a female passenger has thrilled feminists even as most men complain the ruling was harsh.
Nicholas Mwangi (bus driver), and two conductors Meshack Mwangi and Edward Ndung’u were found guilty of the robbery with violence and assault.
The three committed the offense in September 2014, the incident was caught on camera sparking public uproar in Kenya and outside the country.
Julie Gichuru commended the Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi for sentencing the three men to death. She said the ruling sends a strong message in the protection of women and girls in Kenya.
“Powerful ruling, robbery w/ violence/sexual assault, Githurai 3 sentenced to death. Strong message on protection of women & girls in Kenya,” Julie Gichuru tweeted.
Critics were quick to condemn her for championing justice for women and girls while she remained mum about women who were chopping men’s private parts.
Julie Gichuru’s one-minute video on Twitter has made most Kenyans to label her the purveyor of fear and an advocate of injustice.
The former Citizen TV anchor took to Twitter to warn Kenyans about the dangers of resorting to violence to seek justice. Her advice comes after Nasa allegedly said there would be violence if August 8th presidential elections turns out to be another sham election.
Don’t let pseudo intellectuals lie that one can seek justice via violence. Conflict is the mother of injustice & she breeds a multitude. ? pic.twitter.com/LpNhCvsbyx
Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) interpreted Julie Gichuru’s advice to be another propaganda meant to brainwash citizens to do nothing even when the election is rigged.
Most people simply thought Julie Gichuru was instilling fear on Kenyans ahead of August 8th poll, critics labeled her an advocate of injustice in Kenya.
Kenyans expected a journalist who moderated 2013 presidential debate to remain neutral but Julie Gichuru openly endorsed Uhuru Kenyatta and internet couldn’t handle it.
Last Friday night President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto held an invite-only dinner at Safari Park Hotel to raise money for their re-election campaign.
Almost Kes 1 billion was raised for UhuRuto during the dinner; guests at the high profile event sat according to how much they contributed to the president re-election kitty.
Those who contributed more than 10 million sat closest to the president, those who offered at least 5 million were second on the seating arrangement while Kes 2.5 million and Kes 500,000 contributors followed respectively.
Media personalities Julie Gichuru and Caroline Mutoko were the emcees at exclusive fundraising dinner for the president and his deputy.
“Totally inspirational evening with President Uhuru Kenyatta as we gathered to support his re-election bid. @caroline.mutoko shared amazing audio from his 2002 campaigns, his focus even then was a united Kenya, peace, movement from absolute centralised power to a devolved system and free education. Thank you to all those who made time and to so many more who are supporting the campaign via mobile money. We must believe in something and I believe in one Kenya, I believe in progress and strong effective partnerships to actualise development, I believe in each of us exercising our individual rights to vote, and I believe in respecting that right and loving you as my Kenyan brother or sister whatever the outcome, I believe in working together to make this nation rise to great heights of progress and prosperity for all. Wherever you stand politically, God bless you and God bless Kenya. Twende mbele pamoja ??” Julie Gichuru wrote on social media.
Julie’s post drew uproar from Kenyans who felt that she shouldn’t be taking sides since she’s a reputable journalist who had moderated 2013 presidential debate.
Some of the reactions from Kenyans were totally ugly prompting Julie Gichuru to respond to set the record straight.
“Dear Kenyans, I will say this as simply as I possibly can, we are in this nation together. If you cannot see the progress that has been made you have clearly chosen not to. Yes, there has been progress. Are there challenges? Yes, of course there are and both @caroline.mutoko and I speak openly and widely about them – from corruption to tribalism and much more. ION, I exited the news cycle close to two years ago (fascinating that you barely noticed as you keep discussing me in the context of news) and have the right to comment and take a position on issues. You cannot BULLY people into your chosen stand and if you cannot respect the fact that people can take a stand that is not based on personal benefit, then that speaks volumes about you not the person you are attacking. Bimbo insults don’t work either, for women who have carved the space that we have, sorry, it does not apply and again speaks volumes about the mindless misogyny of the abuser. For those sharing civilised perspectives, all are appreciated. Let’s engage in a civilised fashion but most of all, let us respect each others views. I have love for you irrespective of where you stand and it is my prayer that you can adopt that same attitude towards your fellow Kenyans. If you can’t, what does it say about you? God bless Kenya always ?????????”
Nick Mutuma is among the most known media personalities we have come to know. His acting career has taken him to places and with that opportunity he has been able to dine with some of the most famous people in the world but he had never gotten the chance to meet Julie Gichuru.
However they recently bumped into each other during a certain meeting and being the very first time he was seeing the former TV queen, Nick Mutuma could not shy off from taking a selfie with her.
He shared the photo on his social media pages expressing how excited he was to have finally met the lady. He wrote saying,
Such a pleasure finally meeting you
Well, not many would think this is a big deal but when you think of the accomplishments Julie Gichuru has made at her age, then you will understand why she is an inspiration and hero to many including the likes of Nick Mutuma who are seen as celebrities in East Africa. Checkout the photo below.
When everyone was celebrating Mother’s Day by sharing photos of their mothers former news anchor Julie Gichuru posted a photo taken a few years ago, months after welcoming her adorable baby.
Julie Gichuru shared the photo to celebrate motherhood something that she describes as the best feeling to ever happen to a woman. From her caption she says she is grateful for the joy and abundant blessings she has received for being a mother to her children.
No greater joy ~ Motherhood ~ ‘when your heart beats in their chests’ JG ?????? #HappyMothersDay to all mothers and all those who take on responsibilities as a mother. May the good and great Lord ease every burden and deliver abundant blessings to you and yours ???
This is however the only photo she has shared showing off one of her babies a few months after birth. Judging from her ear to ear smile I bet Julie Gichuru feels like the most favored mother something all mothers feel when looking into their children’s eyes.
