Are Kenyan gospel musicians asleep?

I honestly feel like Kenyan gospel musicians are deep in slumber. I’m saying this because I feel that the gospel industry is not as vibrant as it was a few years ago. I feel like it has stagnated.

If you are an avid fan of Kenyan music then I’m sure you remember how the gospel industry was big five to ten years ago. Can you?

The gospel industry was so enormous so much so that secular artists were almost unheard of, no one even cared about them or what they were up.

The biggest song in the country at any given time was from the likes of DK Kwenye Beat, Juliani, Willy Paul, M.O.G, Benachi, Daddy Owen, Bahati, Gloria Muliro, Eunice Njeri, Mercy Masika etc.

I don’t know what happened but somewhere along the way, the secular industry overtook took over. We can debate about this until the come home but deep down you also know that this is a fact.

The gospel music is not what it was five to ten years and this begs begs the question, are Kenyan gospel musicians asleep, did they get too comfortable or are they just lazy?

I know it’s not a competition between the two sides. After all, they are all Kenyan. As a Christian, it just gives me comfort when the gospel industry is at the top.

Don’t get me wrong, I listen to a lot of secular music. Yup! From Sauti Sol to Ethic, anything goes. I have nothing against secular musicians.

It’s just I really miss that days when gospel music was the order of the day. Those days when gospel gigs had the biggest crowds. The days when gospel musicians were really praising God with music.

This is a clarion call to all Kenyan gospel musicians. Enough said!

Brenda Wairumu hints that baby daddy Juliani dumped her?

Kenyans have been wondering what happened to gospel singer Juliani and his sexy baby mama Brenda Wairimu. The two have been staying away from each other, at least online, leaving Kenyans with questions whether they are still dating.

Not together anymore?

In a recent social media post, Wairimu hinted that they might be not together saying:

“Blink away tears and walk forward, even if the first step hurts…because we grow fearless, by walking into our fears,” she said.

This comes after Juliani, in an interview, said that Brenda is not humble and even dedicated a song to her in his new album.

“I have a song that will reveal to you guys whether we are still dating or not but as far as what I have learned is human beings have ego. Binadamu hujidai sana, until you get them in hospital sick or dead. It is high time we humble ourselves especially in relationships and avoid including ego,” said Juliani.

Gospel singer Juliani is a man who is well known for his lyrics and poetic saying in his music. Apart from that he seems to be one guy who prefers to lay low to avoid getting stalked.

However, Juliani has given many a reason to talk following a tweet shared on his Twitter. The gospel artiste reveals that he would actually sell his kidney to meet Elon Musk or Jay Z. Well, if this is the only way he could afford his flight then why not. He wrote saying;

If I got an email today that I need to pay my flight, accommodation to have a minute with Elon musk or Jay Z. I would sell a kidney.

Though this was said on a light note, there are obviously who felt that his statement was too much for a gospel artiste.

Juliani to wed his baby mama, Brenda Wairimu

After welcoming their first child together, Juliani finally proposed to Brenda Wairimu and the two are set to walk down the aisle soon.

Brenda Wairimu on the other hand has been building her career through her talk show on Ebru TV as well as other projects on the side.

Juliani has addressed alleged break up with Brenda Wairimu. The gospel rapper reveals that he has never given anyone a reason to suspect his marriage was in turmoil.

Juliani asserts that Brenda and him are not at loggerheads as claimed by some people. He says people claiming he broke up with his baby mama are doing it for the purpose of fun.

“I don’t think people care genuinely about what’s happening in my private life. Unless one is idle, they don’t care. People often respond to the information you make available to them. If a section of social media users claimed that Brenda and I have broken up, I think they were saying that for fun purposes, nothing serious.

“I have never given someone any reason to suspect my love life was on the rocks. Brenda and I are doing fine, we’re closely knit. I don’t think there’s any reason for us to fight, or claim that we are at loggerheads,” said Juliani in a recent interview.

Fatherhood

Juliani also opened up about his 3-year-old daughter Amor. He expressed his joy over his daughter joining school in January 2018.

“I thank God for His grace in helping Brenda and I raise the baby to this stage. There’s no clear manual for bringing up a child, ni guesswork and God’s guidance. Fatherhood is taking me well. Niko poa. Actually, my daughter has begun schooling, she joined school in January 2018. So, anapiga piga raundi huko. Inambamba.”

Juliani hopes his meeting with Meghan Markle will earn him invitation to her royal wedding with Prince Harry

Juliani rubbed shoulders with Suits actress Meghan Markle a few years ago. Markle is set to wed Prince Harry and the Kenyan rapper is optimistic he could be invited to the royal wedding.

Juliani and Meghan Markle met in London in 2015. The soon to be royal bride plays Rachel Zane in the popular legal drama ‘Suits’.

“Are you a “SUITS” fan, that ka lawyers series? Am sure you know this face and she has even a wonderful personality,” Juliani captioned a photo of Meghan Markle and him which he shared in 2015.

I don’t know if i will be invited

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will exchange vows sometimes in May. The British prince proposed to Markle a few days ago. Prince Harry designed Markle’s engagement ring himself with two diamonds belonging to his late mother Princess Diana.

Jualiani says he’s not sure whether Meghan Markle will send him an invitation to the royal wedding. The gospel rapper however congratulated the Suits actress on her royal engagement.

“Sijui kama nitaalikwa hio wedding! Nile Royal mchele. CONGRATULATIONS @meghanmarkle,” wrote Juliani.

Meghan Markle will be the second first mixed-race royal in England. Her mother is an African-American whiler her father is Dutch-Irish.

Gospel singer Juliani has lately been keeping a low profile. He has taken time to release new projects however looking at his social media pages – the fella seems to be up to something.

Away from his musical career, lately the singer has been letting his fans know how much he loves his fiancé, Brenda Wairimu. Just the other day he wrote her a moving poem pouring out his heart in powerful bars that left fans admiring his skills of writing.

The two are said to have dated for some years now. However, sometime back things between the two seemed impossible but word has it that they are set to wed soon.

Juliani and Brenda Wairimu were blessed with a baby girl about 3 years ago. The couple has however made sure to keep her off their social media pages at all costs. Brenda Wairimu once revealed that she was not ready to put her daughter in the hands of merciless social media critics.

Juliani takes a swipe at IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati in a new song

Wafula Chebukati is said to be a man who is able to perform mathematical miracles. Nasa supporters claim the IEBC chairman cooked figured in the just concluded repeat presidential election.

The way Chebukati contradicted himself while announcing poll results is the reason why people say he’s a math wizard. The IEBC chair said on Twitter that figures from 267 constituencies out of 290 showed that 6.5 million Kenyans turned out to vote. (23 constituencies in Nyanza didn’t vote).

The final tally showed that 7.6 million Kenyans turned out to vote in the repeat election. The discrepancy in the 6.5/7.6 million turnout caused a lot of uproar.

Julian is dropping a new song and surprisingly Chebukati’s name appeared on his lyrics. The gospel rapper says that numbers don’t lie unless it’s Chebukati who is counting.

Singer Juliani writes a moving poem for his fiancé, Brenda Wairimu –you should take notes!

Gospel singer Juliani rarely shows his fans his soft side but when it come down to his daughter and fiancé, Brenda Wairimu the fella becomes somebody to totally different.

A few weeks ago he got on his knees and proposed to his baby mama Brenda Wairimu who also happens to be the mother of his child. Their union however left many shocked as the two were earlier said to have split following some issues.

However, their relationship seems to have overcome all the trials as the two are set t walk down the aisle very soon. Anyway, Juliani continues to show how much he appreciates his woman through his social media pages where he recently posted a poem dedicated to Brenda Wairimu. He wrote saying

Juliani opens up about the repercussions of impregnating Brenda Wairimu before they got married

Gospel rapper Juliani went against Christian teachings and got a baby before officiating his relationship; he has since opened up about how the church reacted to his action.

Juliani’s two year music hiatus ended when he dropped a new single dubbed ‘Machozi Ya Jana’. The gospel singer told Pulse he decided to take a break after he hit a plateau.

“I took a break from music for two years, 2014 and 2015. Artistes hit a plateau especially after topping charts for years. It can’t be just about recording and performing music. There are other various forms of art available to increase your influence and find revenue streams. This forces an artiste to look for new avenues to exhibit their skills. That’s how we came up with Turning Tables – a community of creatives, filmmakers, music, concept creators and social media influencers. We have different personnel handling different departments and we are in the process of acquiring more equipment for production.

“We recruit talent from all over the place, manage them and help them monetise their art. We produce for them, manage their content and help them monetise it on various platforms on agreed upon percentages,” said Juliani.

The gospel rapper also talked about his relationship with Brenda Wairimu, he opened up about the repercussions of impregnating his baby mama before they got married.

“Of course, it did. That is like the most obvious thing. But then again, everything happens for a reason and her birth was not an accident,” Juliani answered when he was asked whether he got backlash from the church for getting a baby before officiating his relationship.

Juliani also dismissed rumors about his alleged breakup with Brenda Wairimu, he stated he was still tight with his baby mama despite all that had been said about them.

“All people should know is that baby is fine. We love her and it’s beautiful to watch her grow. Her mother is fine too. We’re all good. Everything is fine. That should summarise everything people want to know about them.”

Brenda Wairimu seems to be the only woman who can bring out Juliani’s soft side and I bet this is why she managed to make him fall in love.

Juliani has always come off as this ‘bad boy’ type of person and from what I hear he is not one to mingle with people freely. But whenever he is with Brenda Wairimu, the Exponential Potential hit-maker always looks cheerful and loving something that many people translate to “love.”

But have you ever wondered how the two met? No…let me rephrase that…have you ever wondered Juliani proposed now since they are engaged and busy taking care of their young child?

Well, we have the 411 as narrated to Adelle earlier today on kiss and it sums up the perfect love story. He is currently doing a media tour for his upcoming show tomorrow, 31st March 2017 at Galileo lounge.

So Brenda Wairimu was shooting in Lamu when Juliani came up with an idea…why not fly down there and finally close it down with this woman?

Well, he did and also because he needed some chill out time to write and compose for his upcoming album.

And that’s when he took Brenda to some intimate place right in the middle of the Indian Ocean for some good food and equally good conversation. That’s when things got really sentimental and he got down on one knee and proposed.

She said YES and it’s been happy forever after.
