Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and Johnstone Muthama were arrested yesterday September 11th over hate speech. Kuria has since confessed that he was arrested so that police could nab Muthama.
Moses Kuria has admitted in a video he uploaded on Facebook that he was used as a conduit to arrest former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama.
Speaking in his native Gikuyu language, Kuria claimed that he met the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) chair Francis Kaparo who told him that his remarks did not amount to hate speech.
The Gatundu South lawmaker reiterated that he was used as ‘bait’ so that the police could arrest the real culprit – Johnstone Muthama.
He argued that his alleged hate speech was uttered a week ago but police only arrested him after Muthama’s utterance during a rally in Kajiado on Sunday September 10th.
