Joy Muthengi: Leaving Citizen TV wasn’t easy

Former Citizen TV presenter Joey Muthengi has revealed that leaving Citizen TV a year ago was tough on her.

Joey, who now works at Capital FM, said that she was down when she left the station a year ago and was afraid the direction her career might take.

“Today marks one year since I left my last job,” she wrote. “It was a very difficult decision and I had no idea where I was headed afterwards. Won’t lie I’ve had some tough days. Yet God has guided me to the place I am now.”

Happy

She went on to add that she’s still happy with her choice even though some were angered by it.

“Today I am happy, I am content and I know that I am loved. I’m so thankful for the people who have stuck by me and encouraged me along the way. God bless “

“But Pastor told me I would find a husband”- Reaction after Joey’s post of year ending and she’s still single

Joey Muthengi is as sexy as they come but still very much single. She wants answers.

The 34-year-old host took to social media to jokingly share that the year is almost coming to an end and she’s still single.

“But Pastor nanii had told me I would find a husband this year…????. I’m still single..and calling the help line ????,” wrote Joey Muthengi.

It was a joke. We know. But, was it? Was it really a joke Joey?

Reactions

Not much about dating has been said about Joey. We can’t remember the last time she dated. Maybe she’s trying to announce she’s really available.

Anyway, some of those who responded to the posts include Akothee, Jasper Murume and a bunch of team mafisi of course.

‘Drunk’ sign language interpreter on Citizen TV mesmerizes Kenyans (video)

Kenyans recently took to social media to troll a sign language interpreter on citizen TV, accusing him of being drunk while on duty.

A video of the interpreter looking sleepy and high has been trending online for a few days now.

Funny

It’s not clear however whether the man was hangovered as Kenyans claimed or it was just another frustrating day at work. He seemed disconnected though while interpreting.

Here’s what Kenyans had to say:

What Joey Muthengi had to say after Kenyans asked her to start dating Mariga already

Some Kenyans believe Joey Muthengi’s perfect match has finally arrived and it’s time she makes a move before it’s too late.

That man is none other than footballer Mariga.

Kenyans have been pressuring the 10 over 10 star to make her move and tie him down but it seems she’s not into him. Or, she’s just pretending. Or maybe, Mariga is just too young for him–we know the kinda men Joey loves.

A fan posted on Facebook Group Kenya saying that the relationship can be lovely.

Lmao @ Kuchambua. Our relationship already fell apart. I’m sure this will be brutal,” said Joey Muthengi in a post on her Instagram page.

Relationship

Joey said her relationship with Mariga was purely professional and it stops there.

“No. We are not dating. The Milan outing was a business trip with a betting company (the billboards are up in Nairobi). Mariga is a very good professional friend of mine and our trip to Italy was purely work,” said Joey Muthengi.

Joey Muthengi sends Fred Indimuli lovely message after resigning from Citizen TV

Citizen TV presenter Joey Muthengi has wished her former workmate and fellow host Fred Indimuli all the best in his next phase after he resigned from Citizen TV.

Fred Indimuli, Willis Raburu and Muthengi hosted Citizen TV’s morning show Day Break together. Muthengi praised him for his work ethics and focus in her goodbye message.

“2 and 1/2 years ago I met one @fredrickindimuli as we joined the #PowerBreakfast team on @citizentvkenya. I must say this gentleman has a ridiculous work ethic (I mean that in the best way). Hard working, focused, gets along with everyone…basically someone you want on your team,” she said on social media.

Teacher

On Tuesday, he announced that it was his last day on Citizen TV. Indimuli didn’t share his next stop however. Joey said she has learned a lot from him.

“As you say Goodbye to #Daybreak today I just wanted to say that it’s been a pleasure working alongside you. I’ve learned a lot simply by observing how you approach your duties as an anchor. I wish you nothing but continued success. Don’t forget us little people when you make it to the big leagues. God speed Fred,” she said.

Wazee Mko Wapi? Joey leaves Kenyans in stitches after trolling her ex-lovers

Citizen TV 10 over 10 host Joey Muthengi has left her fans in stitches after posting a photo of her snoozing that was quickly turned into meme.

The host then later took to Instagram to join the fun, giving the image a caption that left many laughing.

“How I pray for my exes. Jesus loves you regardless.” she posted.

Old guys

The photo which was captured during her sister’s wedding last weekend left many laughing or questing about her exes. Remember, Joey was recently in the news after she confessing she only dates old guys.

“As a consumer of older men there is just like stability in that, or reassurance that they know what they need out of life, have learnt the lessons that needed to be learnt. They are even able to share their knowledge. These young guys are only good in pictures,” she said.

She added: “ati we are hustling together we can’t both be on the same level. Someone needs to have made it. In fact most of the guys whom you build each other from scratch usually end up leaving the woman for someone else. That is what mostly happens in those types of situations.”

Which leaves us thinking, was this message directed to her past wazees? It must be.

Here’s what fans had to say:

Joey Muthengi shocks Kenyans: I rather date rich old wazee than start life with a broke guy

Citizen TV presenter Joey Muthengi would go straight for a rich older guy than wander around with a broke younger guy.

The 10 over 10 host, who is rumored to be dating  a moneyed guy, shared that dating a broke guy is one of the riskiest things women do because they don’t know how he’ll change once he gets the money. It also doesn’t have security.

Old men

Speaking during Citizen TV breakfast show, the 33-year-old revealed in a heated argument that she would rather date older men who are rich rather than struggle with a young promising guy. Her comments left co-hosts Willis Raburu and panelist Roy Karuhize rather surprised.

“As a consumer of older men there is just like stability in that, or reassurance that they know what they need out of life, have learnt the lessons that needed to be learnt. They are even able to share their knowledge. These young guys are only good in pictures,” said Muthengi.

She added:

“I am looking for security financially, maturity, these are things I need in a relationship. Like I said off camera I spent a lot of my youth with the youths while in campus. What did they do for me? ati we are hustling together we can’t both be on the same level. Someone needs to have made it. In fact most of the guys whom you build each other from scratch usually end up leaving the woman for someone else. That is what mostly happens in those types of situations.”

Dreams come true! Singer Holy Dave becomes a lecturer and this is what he’s teaching now

He’s a singer, actor, pastor, host and now you can tick a lecturer too. Gospel singer Holly Dave wears many hats, but in all of those, he want to be a lecturer just as bad as he wanted to be a singer.

Taking to Instagram, the singer shared that he has landed his dream job thanks to Nazarene University where’s now teaching Entrepreneurship and Community Development.

“When I started pursuing my PhD a few years back I dreamt of the day I would step into a lecture room as a lecturer…see God. Thanks to my mentor Dr. Peter Kimuru aka @petero_mugash (standing next to me) today I made a debut at the Africa Nazarene University teaching the Entrepreneurship and Community Development course. Today’s topic was Marketing for Entrepreneurship. #TeacherDave #ImaniMovement,” said Dave on social media.

The artists announced in 2015 that he had enrolled for his Ph.D in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development at the University of Nairobi.

Carole odera attacked by Kenyans for ‘dissing’ royal wedding

Kenyans were not happy at all with Fashion Watch panelists Carole Odera after she claimed Meghan Markle was “poorly” dressed and that her make up did not live up to expectation.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the weekend had a glamorous wedding which was followed worldwide.

Many people have been giving their opinion on the wedding but one particular one, Carole Odera, seemed to have annoyed so many after claiming that Markle  could have done better in terms of  dressing.

Carole Odera’s quote

Kenyans didn’t like comments and took to Facebook fire at the Citizen TV presenter who works along side Lilian Muli on Fashion Watch.

Here is what people had to say:

Citizen TV’s Joey Muthengi and bother Holy Dave mourning after losing their source of spiritual guidance

Citizen TV presenter Joey Muthengi and brother Holly Dave are mourning after losing their grandmother.

Both of them took to Instagram to share emotional posts and pay tribute. She was 108 years old.

#RestInParadise Grandma, thanks for teaching me the ways of the Lord, for loving me, for believing that I could be something extraordinary. Thanks for being the wisest person I ever knew, for mothering a clan of wonderful people. Go with God. Rest now dear susu. We love you #RIPAnna #SusuMbesa#MbaaMuthengi,” she said in her post.

Her brother, Holly Dave, posted a similar post, saying how his grandma lived her life to the fullest.

“Celebrating the life of the woman who raised the man who raised me. Born in 1910 (108 years old), it’s safe to say you lived a full life! You taught dad and the ruthless focus that he passed down to us. See you in heaven Anna Mbuu, aka Susu Mbesa, the Muthengi Family matriarch,” He posted.

Rubadri leaves NTV for Citizen TV, Set to hold for a pregnant Lilian Muli

Days after Larry Madowo resigned and got another job from BBC, fans begged him not to leave behind his co-anchor Victoria Rubidiri. It seems their prayers have been answered though not fully.

Victoria Rubadiri has now ditched NTV and is headed for Citizen TV where she’ll be replacing a pregnant Lilian Muli, sources say. Rubadiri becomes the latest journalist to ditch the ailing Nation Media after eight other leading journalists left recently.

Citizen wins big

Some of those who have moved to Citizen TV include Pamela Asigi, former NTV’s editor, was appointed Managing Editor, English desk, whereas Jamila Mohammed, former NTV’s Swahili news anchor will now be Citizen TV’s Managing Editor, Swahili desk.

10 over 10 host Joey Muthengi quits show

Joey Muthengi will no longer host the popular 10 over 10 show that airs on Citizen TV. She recently made the announcement on her social media pages that she has quit, saying that it was time for her to grow.

“I feel like it’s time I grew into the more serious segments of news anchoring, besides, I’m loving it,” said the popular hosts who works along side Willis Raburu.

Looking for a serous image?

At 32, Muthengi, it seems, is moving to a more serious image after she started anchoring the One O’clock news on Citizen TV. She might become a full time anchor and join the likes of Lilian Muli and Janet Mbugua who dominated the field.

10 over 10 has also been marred by some negative controversies with moral cop Ezekiel Mutua always attacking the program for indecency another reason why the host might have left the program.
