In a tragic incident shrouded in mystery, 25-year-old Christine Auma lost her life to unknown assailants in Kamwala village, Boya sublocation, Ndhiwa constituency on Wednesday.
Auma was preparing a meal in her kitchen on Wednesday night when suspected criminals forcefully entered and launched a deadly attack. At the time of the incident, her husband and relatives were in a different part of the house’s sitting room, anticipating supper.
Assistant Chief Milton Kawino reported that Auma’s husband became alarmed when he heard a loud noise at the kitchen door, prompting them to investigate. Upon entering the kitchen, they were met with the horrifying sight of Auma’s lifeless body in a pool of blood, with her head missing.
A closer examination of the kitchen revealed that the assailants had beheaded the woman, using a machete (panga), resulting in the separation of her head from the body.
The husband’s distress led him to raise an alarm, drawing other residents to the scene. Despite attempts to gather information from neighbors, no one witnessed the assailants, and they managed to escape without leaving any traces.
Ndhiwa subcounty police commander Paul Rioba confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the perpetrators.
“The assailants were not seen, and the motive of the attack has not been established. We are investigating the matter,” Rioba commented.
The victim’s remains have been transferred to the Manyatta Kobodo mortuary.
