Anti-narcotic detectives have impounded one of Hassan Joho’s campaign vehicles in a raid that saw heroin worth million of shillings seized.
Seven suspected drug traffickers were arrested with a half a kilo of heroin and Kes 4.5 million cash in the swoop. Police also seized seven vehicles which were parked in the Nyali compound they raided.
One of the vehicles that were impounded was being used in Hassan Joho’s campaign, the Toyota Crown was branded with photos of the Mombasa governor.
Coast regional police boss Larry Kieng said police were still interrogating the apprehended suspects after the court granted them five days to complete their investigation.
The half a kilo heroin was recovered in a kitchen hidden behind a cooker, detectives told the members of the fourth estate during a brief.
Of the seven suspects arrested, three were known drug barons, they were identified as Abdullahi Ahmad Kheri (Tanzanian), Hope Brenda Mbaga and Musa Athumani Kihara.
