Fred Omondi’s ‘wife’ speaks on how they met, as she welcomes her co-wives

In an interview with a local media house on June 28, the woman, who chose not to disclose her name, stated that she is Fred Omondi’s wife and the mother of his two-year-old daughter, Kyla Adhiambo Omondi. The late Fred had mentioned having a daughter whom he adored, but it remains unclear if Kyla is the same child.

Despite their relationship, she had stayed out of the public eye. “I am Fred’s wife. I have a child. She is two years old and her name is Kyla Adhiambo Omondi,” she said.

When asked about her reception by Fred Omondi’s family, she expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, which was contrary to her expectations. She had feared rejection since it was her first visit to Fred’s family home.

“I want to thank Fred’s mother for welcoming me warmly. When I arrived at the home, I thought they might question who I was, but the sisters and brothers welcomed me kindly. I am grateful,” she shared.

The woman traveled to Fred’s home on Sunday night, arriving Monday morning. She chose to come alone due to uncertainty about the reception she would receive. “I traveled on Sunday night and arrived home on Monday morning. I came alone because it was my first time coming home. I wasn’t sure if I would be welcomed or turned away,” she explained.

She revealed that Fred had shared his family background with her, expressing his desire for a familial connection. This motivated her to accept being his wife, even though they didn’t live together. “Fred told me about his background, that he didn’t have parents but would have liked someone to see as a mother figure. I agreed to be his wife. Although we didn’t live together, I would visit him for about a month before returning to my place,” she said.

The woman recounted how she met Fred at a function, which led to their relationship and eventually having a child together. “We met at a function. We started talking, exchanged numbers, and it continued from there until we had a child,” she narrated. She also mentioned that Fred had an active role in their daughter’s life, even shaving her hair. “Fred was the one who shaved her hair.”

She described the moment she received the news of Fred Omondi’s death, detailing her disbelief and shock. “Fred was always happy. I had never seen anything bad about him. We were okay. One morning, a friend called me and said Fred was at Mama Lucy Hospital, but I didn’t believe it. I had just talked to him, and he said he was coming to see our child because I was at my mother’s place in Kibera. I went to Mama Lucy Hospital but still didn’t believe it until I found out he had already passed away and was taken to the mortuary,” she added.

In a remarkable statement, she expressed her willingness to accept other co-wives if there were any. “I am not sure if there are others, but if there are, I welcome them.”

During Fred Omondi’s memorial service today, his brother Eric Omondi revealed that two baby mamas have already disclosed that they have Fred’s children. He also invited anyone else claiming to have a child with his late brother to come forward before the burial.

Omondi added that he is ready to take care of the children, but only if they resemble Fred Omondi. “There are children at home who look like Mulamwah. Those claiming to have Fred’s children should ensure they resemble Fred. Two have already arrived at home,” Eric said.

Not a Coincidence! Eric Omondi Reveals Hidden Details About the Day His Brother Died

Comedian turned activist Eric Omondi has raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding the death of his brother, Fred Omondi. In an interview shared on June 25, Eric revealed multiple theories suggesting that Fred’s tragic accident might have been orchestrated.

Eric Omondi reacts to ongoing protests against controversial Finance Bill 2024

Fred Omondi, Eric’s younger brother, died in a bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) accident on June 15. This incident occurred during a crucial period of anti-Finance Bill protests led by Eric, raising several questions about its timing.

Despite having to plan his brother’s funeral, Eric continued participating in the demonstrations against the Finance Bill 2024. His decision to protest while mourning was met with criticism and curiosity from the public.

Addressing these concerns, Eric explained that his brother’s death could not deter him from fighting for what he believed in. He highlighted several unresolved aspects of the accident, questioning its coincidence with his active involvement in the protests.

“Some people said I am mourning my brother, why did I come out to demonstrate. There are theories. This is the week of the Finance Bill. Who has been at the forefront to fight for this? Eric Omondi. So, is it a coincidence that this week my brother died?” Eric questioned.

Eric shared details that intensified his suspicions. He visited the accident site and noticed bloodstains, but the motorcycle driver was nowhere to be found. Eric questioned the driver’s sudden disappearance, considering the severity of the accident.

“My brother was being carried. We went and even saw the motorcycle. But where is the driver? The accident was bad, we even saw blood there. But the driver disappeared? That impact. People say he ran away. Where is he even?” Eric pondered.

Eric Omondi’s determination to protest despite personal tragedy underscores his commitment to the cause. He believes that if his brother’s death was indeed orchestrated to distract him from the protests, it would be a grave injustice. Eric emphasized that he would not let Fred’s death be in vain and would continue to fight against the Finance Bill.

“That’s why I went to protest because even when I sleep and wake up, I feel like this theory might be true. I don’t want to speculate, but it is also life. It could be true. If they thought they would distract me from fighting against the bill, then we will not lose Freddy for nothing,” Eric stated.

Kenyan comedians should stay away from music!

If you are keen enough, I’m sure you’ve noticed that almost every Kenyan comedian has crossed over to music. It’s almost as if that was the endgame for all of them. Wasn’t it though?

It started with Eric Omondi, soon enough the likes of Fred Omondi, DJ Shiti, Mulamwah, Eddie Butita, Mammito, soon joined in.

Eric Omondi
Eric Omondi

Sometimes I ask myself why they all decided to make this predictable move. Like, did they stop to think that we were already tired of their lame and tribal jokes. I guess not.

In as much as some of them are talented, (I give it to them, some can sing but  I won’t mention any names) why did they imagine that they would have any impact as musicians? What did they really want to achieve?

I bet it all began when they realized that they had lost relevance as comedians, that people were not cheering them as they used to so jumping ship and music seemed like the best option.

In my opinion, if you have established your career in a certain line, you should try your best to perfect it not to cross over to another career and fail terribly at it.

Eddie Butita

I’m aware that some of them try to include a comical aspect in their songs to show us that they can still do both but I don’t think anyone really cares.

It’s a fact that most of comedians are just trying to remain relevant by maintaining active fan bases but should they torture our eardrums while at it?

Whichever way you see it, Kenyan comedians should get back to terrible jokes that we were all used to and stay away from release music because let’s be honest, the country has enough musicians!

“It’s a personal vendetta” Fred Omondi speaks of the lady who exposed him

Fred Omondi has stepped forth to shed light on the incident at Blend Lounge on Sunday evening. The comedian says the lady who exposed him is out to ruin the reputation of the Omondis.

Fred was exposed by Blend Lounge’s waitress as a bill defaulter. The lady by the name Mary Sorty said the comedian failed to pay Kes 5850 forcing her to pay the bill from her salary.

The comedian says the bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label was to be paid for by the party host. He expressed shock with Mary Sorty’s statement on social media.

“I am shocked by the statement she (Mary) has made on Facebook. The pictures she has posted online were taken when she had requested for selfies with me,” said Fred Omondi.

Out to seek publicity

Fred Omondi further accused the waitress waging a personal vendetta against the Omondis. He says Mary Sorty even dragged Eric Omondi’s name to some controversy to gain publicity.

“I think this lady, Mary, is out to seek publicity. There was a time she’d dragged my brother Eric Omondi’s name to some controversy. There’s even an online user, who observed that she is out for the Omondi brothers. Mary ako na u-star mob. I have already spoken to Blend owner and he said he will settle the matter,” said Fred Omondi.
