Day Jacque Maribe led a ‘protest’ at Citizen TV over bread (Video)

Former Citizen TV news anchor Jaque Maribe recently shared a video that showed her staging ‘protest’ with her colleagues while asking for bread from their boss – Peter Opondo.

In the video, the gorgeous media personality and her co-workers were seen holding up papers while saying that they would not get back to their work stations unless they were given bread.

“Tuko njaa na hatuwezi andika hoe hae shagala bagala hatuandiki story bila mkate hatuandiki story bila mkate, comrades power,” they sang in unison.

They claimed that they were hungry and it was hard for them to do any kind of work on empty stomachs. Some of the known faces in the video include Sylvia Chebet, Steven Letoo, Francis Gachuri and Sam Gituku.

Meanwhile, their boss, Peter Opondo, was seen smiling at them as he looked at them. He then went to confront Francis Gachuri but he did not give in.

Maribe resigned from Citizen TV in July 2019 after she was charged as an accomplice in the murder of Monica Kimani. Some of her colleagues in the video have also moved on to other stations.

Citizen TV’s reporter who was roughed up by NASA supporters in mourning

Francis Gachuri, a politics reporter from Citizen TV is mourning the 4th time this year. The popular reporter made the announcement through his social media pages shortly after losing his aunt, Nancy Ngonyo Kamundi.

According to the reporter, his Aunty passed on in a road accident making her the 4th family member to leave them in 2017. He wrote saying;

“Our family mourns for the 4th time since May 2017. Another road accident. Another precious life lost. Rest well auntie Nancy Ngonyo Kamundi. We mourn you.”

Close friends and relatives have joined in through comments to send their condolences to Francis and his family during this trying time.

Francis Gichuri roughed up at Wiper Party offices

The journalist gained fame back in August after a group of Nasa supporters attacked him in broad daylight. Accept o reports, this is because he was representing a station that the party was not in good terms with.

However, thanks to the MP’s and journalists who were available Gichuri walked out unharmed.

Francis Gachuri’s children write heartfelt letter to their dad after watching him being beaten silly by Nasa goons 

Citizen TV’s Francis Gachuri was roughed up by Nasa goons on Tuesday October 31st. Journalists were attacked during a meeting called by Nasa at the Wiper Headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi.

The incident was condemned by both Nasa leaders and Media Council of Kenya. There was also uproar on social media in regard to the same.

Francis Gachuri’s children wrote a letter to their father following the ugly incident in Lavington.  Sandra, Marcus and Curtis jointly wrote the letter which basically inspires and appreciates their father.

The Citizen TV reporter shared a copy of the letter on his Twitter handle. Gachuri says the kids wrote the letter after watching him being roughed up by the goons.

“Lastly, this note penned by my daughter Sandra and her brothers Marcus and Curtis after watching the incident on TV is the real deal,” Francis Gachuri tweeted.

Photos of the Citizen TV’s journalist who was roughed up by Nasa supporters at Wiper Headquarters

Francis Gichuri who is a news reporter at Citizen TV had a hard time a few hours ago after some few Nasa supporters decided to kick him out of Wiper Headquarters located along Othaya Road, Nairobi where he had gone to cover a press conference called by the opposition party.

From the stories making rounds on social media, Francis Gachuri was attacked by some Nasa supporters who were present for the briefing as they apparently did not want any journalists from Citizen TV at the area.

The video shared by K24 shows the reporter trying to escape from the people who can be heard shouting ‘aende’. Francis Gichuri however got help from some politicians who took him to a safe area to prevent the worst from happening.
