Atwoli commended his wife and shared anecdotes about her helpfulness, such as ensuring he didn’t miss flights by confirming boarding times and providing him with insights on important events, like President William Ruto’s press conferences.

He recounted an instance where Mary assisted him in preparing for an international meeting in Algeria, where they attended an event hosted by Kofi Annan. Mary quickly found and provided him with background information about Annan, impressing those around him.

Atwoli clarified that his decision to marry Mary wasn’t driven by greed but rather by her beauty, youthfulness, and the fact that her name reminded him of his mother, who was also named Mary. He emphasized that having someone to assist him wasn’t about greed but practicality.

Furthermore, Atwoli acknowledged Mary’s role in ensuring he took his medication correctly, highlighting an incident where he mixed up his medication while traveling without her, resulting in drowsiness and fainting. Both his doctor and Mary scolded him for the oversight.

Atwoli also admitted to spending more public time with Mary, who was present during his speech at the meeting.

Francis Atwoli blasts Kenyans complaining about cost of living under Ruto

Francis Atwoli, the head of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions, has reprimanded Kenyans who have been grumbling about high taxes and living expenses.

Atwoli said that President William Ruto made it very clear what he intended to do during the 2022 presidential races in a video obtained by the Star.

He claimed that Ruto had made it plain that he wanted to create the nation with the help of every Kenyan.

According to Atwoli, Ruto is currently urging Kenyans to provide resources so that he may carry out his pledge to build the nation.

“Even currently, people are complaining of the high cost of living, price of things has gone up, oh we voted for this government but better William Samoei Ruto. He was very clear when he was campaigning. He told you wewe mama mboga, wewe mtu wa boda boda and everybody that this government will build with you.

Sasa ukiambiwa leta mbao, leta jembe, let vitu tujenge hii serikali unarudi nyuma unasema heri tungepigia Raila Odinga. (When you are told to bring wood and a plow to help build the country, you go back and start saying you should have voted for Raila Odinga)”

It’s time for Kenyans to recognise that some things are unchangeable, according to Atwoli.

He went on to say that it’s time for them to concede that Ruto is in command and give him time to carry out his national agenda.

“We must accept for him to implement his agenda because there are some situations you cannot change for either five years or 10 years.”

Atwoli among Ruto’s Gazetted 7-Member Panel to Recruit New DPP

President William Ruto has gazetted the names of seven individuals who will be responsible for recruiting the next Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The panel is composed of a diverse group of individuals with experience in law, law enforcement, and human rights.

The members of the panel are:

  • Francis Atwoli, secretary general of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU)
  • Shadrack Mose, Attorney General
  • Mary W. Kimonye, former judge of the High Court
  • Mary Adhiambo Maungu, former director of public prosecutions in Bungoma County
  • Roseline Odede, High Court advocate
  • Richard Onsongo Bush Obwocha, former candidate for the post of DPP
  • Twalib Abdallah Mbarak, CEO of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission

The seat of the DPP became vacant following the presidential appointment of the previous incumbent, Mr Noordin Haji, as Director General of the National Intelligence Service of Kenya.

The position is currently held in an acting capacity by Mr Dorcus Oduor, who was Mr Haji’s deputy.

The panel will be responsible for advertising the position of DPP, shortlisting candidates, and conducting interviews.

The successful candidate will be appointed by the President with the approval of the National Assembly.

The DPP is a critical position in the Kenyan government. The DPP is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the State.

The DPP also has the power to direct the Inspector-General of the National Police Service to investigate any information or allegation of criminal conduct.

The DPP is a powerful position, and the selection of the next DPP is an important decision.

The panel is expected to complete its work within the next few months.

Tunataka handshake! Atwoli Urges Ruto and Odinga to Meet to Discuss Economy

Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has urged President William Ruto and Raila Odinga to meet to discuss solutions to the poor economy.

Atwoli, who spoke in a video shared by Citizen TV, said that the two leaders are the only ones who can solve the current economic mess. He dismissed the bipartisan talks that were recently launched, saying that they are meaningless.

“That commission does not have any meaning. It is upon Raila Odinga and William Ruto to sit down and look at ways to address these problems. They are stakeholders in this country. The people in the tribunals are small people who cannot advise the two leaders. They need to meet for the common good of this country. It is not a must to have a handshake,” Atwoli said.

He also explained that countries in the East African Community (EAC) and other neighbours depended on Kenya and the state of our economy might affect them.

“They need to think about how they can save our shilling, economy. The whole of the East African Community and other neighbours solely depend on our economy. When we destroy our economy, the whole of East Africa will be done,” he said.

Atwoli’s call comes at a time when the Kenyan economy is facing a number of challenges, including high inflation, rising unemployment, and a depreciating currency. The two leaders have been at loggerheads for years, but Atwoli believes that they need to put their differences aside and work together to save the country’s economy.

It remains to be seen whether Ruto and Odinga will heed Atwoli’s call, but the stakes are high. The future of Kenya’s economy, and indeed the East African Community, may depend on it.

Be very careful with that man! Kenyans warn news anchor Wanuna after Atwoli confessed his admiration for her

Kenyans were recently on social media to give Sophia Wanuna, the KTN news anchor, some unsolicited advice after Central Organisations of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli’s poured out his heart saying how he loves her work.

Sophia was hosting the COTU boss in an exclusive interview on KTN’s Checkpoint show when he abruptly expressed his admiration for her.

“I listen to you Sophia. I am a fan of KTN. I am your fan, in particular, you as Sophia. Let me tell you, I listen to you carefully,” Atwoli insisted.

Kenyans however didn’t like his statement. Many were quick to warn Wanuna to stay clear from the man or else, she might end up becoming his fourth wife.

Last year, Atwoli’s relationship with another KTN news anchor Mary Kilobi hit the headlines and Kenyans claimed he’s pulling the same moves he did on her.

Here’s what Kenyans said:

“Hahaha this guy knows how to execute his pick up lines on a lady. Sophie count yourself in,” one tweep commented.

“Sophia Wanuna that man is dangerous…he can just look at you and you become pregnant if he winks automatically you become his latest wife.”

“careful Sophie I am sure he likes you there is nothing like being your fan.”

Mary Kilobi come see this! Atwoli kicks out 2nd wife Roselinda Simiyu from Kileleshwa home (Photo)

Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli was on Tuesday evening August 22nd embroiled in a scuffle with estranged wife Roselinda Simiyu at their Kileleshwa home.

The trade unionist kicked out his second wife together with her 13-year-old son from their apartment in Kileleshwa. The Star reports that Atwoli and his second wife bought the apartment in 2006.

Roselinda narrated how a visit to see their son degenerated into a furious exchange of words in a complaint she filed with the police.

On his part, Atwoli explained that he has allowed his second wife to visit her son in Kileleshwa but has forbidden her from staying in the apartment.

“I allowed her to come and visit the kid but not spend the night. I have a first wife who does not behave like Roselinda. She respects our marriage,” Atwoli was quoted by the Star.

Atwoli met Roselinda in 1996, she was a single mother of three but the Cotu boss married her anyway. Roselinda bore Atwoli two more kids.

Roselinda’s marriage started falling apart in 2015, but things got worst in 2017 when she expressed interest to vie for Webuye West parliamentary seat.

Atwoli is heard dissuading his second wife from running for the seat in a leaked telephone conversation. The Cotu secretary general threatens to kick out Roselinda from their matrimonial home in the phone conversation.

Stop asking people about their bedroom skills on TV, Jeff Koinange warned by government body

Citizen TV host Jeff Koinange has been warned by Media Council of Kenya (MCK) to stop questioning his interviewees about bedroom matters on Live TV.

On Wednesday, the popular radio and TV presenter hosted Francis Atwoli and went on to inquire about his bedroom prowess. MCK believe the interview had obscene language that should not be on Live TV.

“The interview kicked of at 9.49pm where Jeff started by asking Francis Atwoli to clear the air about his marriage with TV anchor. Atwoli confidently admits he is married to Mary Kilobi but the host goes ahead to ask questions touching on private aspects like age difference between the two and Atwoli’s performance in bed,” said David Omwoyo the CEO of MCK in a letter to Citizen TV.

Be warned

Omwoyo went on to warn him, in case he repeats it in the future sharing exactly what angered them.

“The questions Lakini bado kazi unafanya, (You still perform well), Katiba bado unasoma (you still read the Constitution) and Kazi unaweza (You can manage the job) are repeated severally in the interview. At one point Atwoli dismisses Koinange reminding him it’s important to be cautious about disclosing private issues for the sake of his children and audience,” MCK said.

Adding:

“By this letter MCK wishes to inform you that it reserves the rightto take disciplinary action against the host of the programme and the media in view of the above contravened clauses. In the meantime urgently furnish the council with steps taken to avoid such occurrences in future,” MCK  said.

Photos of Francis Atwoli’s mega mansion in Kajiado where he lives with his 3rd wife KTN anchor Mary Kilobi

69-year-old Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli married 34-year-old Mary Kilobi two years ago. There were claims that the Cotu boss snatched someone’s wife but it has been confirmed that wasn’t the case.

Mary Kilobi told the Nairobian that Atwoli is such a lovey-dovey who moved mountains to win her. The KTN Swahili anchor says she first rejected the Cotu boss because of their age difference but later on she realized age was not a factor in love.

“He proposed to me but I said no. But he insisted, saying that he was serious and would wait for even 1,000 years for me to say ‘yes’ and marry him. But I have now realized that age should never be a key consideration in a relationship. Atwoli is that guy who is never bothered about mundane issues that sometimes break up marriages,” said Kilobi.

Moved in together as man and wife

Mary Kilobi and Atwoli moved in together in 2016 after he finally won her heart and fulfilled Luhya traditions formalizing their union. The couple live at their IIbisil home in Kajiado county.

“He told me he was lonely and needed a wife to live with in Kajiado. I challenged him to visit my parents and make his intentions known if he was serious. He readily responded by sending a delegation to the village about two months ago,” said Kilobi.

Photos of Atwoli’s  IIbisil home in Kajiado were first publicized in August 2016 when the Cotu boss hosted all delegates attending the 10th EATUC Summit at his home.

Atwoli sets the record straight about claims of snatching KTN anchor who is a married woman

Central Organization of Trade Union (Cotu) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has finally addressed the hottest rumor that left most people in shock.

About a week ago, there were rumors on social media that KTN Swahili anchor Mary Kilobi had dumped her husband to get married to Atwoli.

Speaking in Kisumu on Monday 6th August, Atwoli stressed that he doesn’t fool around with married women. He stated that his dad told him never to take any man’s wife.

“Somebody recently tried to tarnish my name on social media claiming that I’ve run away with his wife… what a foolish man he is! My dad told me if you are still alive, don’t fool around with some peoples’ wives,” said Atwoli.

Always confirm with parents

Atwoli, who openly practices polygamy, further stated that before he asks a woman for her hand in marriage he always confirms from the parents whether or not the girl is married.

“Even the several wives I have, I always confirm from their parents whether they are single or not. Therefore, I cannot take someone’s wife.”

“I chose not to pretend because I was part of the system” Atwoli finally reveals why he never condoled Matiba’s family

Francis Atwoli admits he played part in the physical and emotional suffering of the late Kenneth Matiba. The Cotu Secretary General reveals he chose not to condoled Matiba’s family because he didn’t want to pretend.

For starters, Kenneth Matiba was among high profile politicians that the Moi regime sent to the infamous torture chambers for advocating for multiparty democracy in Kenya.

Matiba’s death is blamed on the physical and emotional suffering he endured during his detention. Last year High Court ruled that Matiba should be compensated Kes 945 million for the unlawful detention.

Admission of guilt

Francis Atwoli reveals he never condoled Matiba’s family because he was part of the system which persecuted and detained Matiba in the early 1990s.

Speaking on Sunday during the Cotu Labour Day Prayer service at St Stephen’s Cathedral, Atwoli expressed shock that some people who tormented Matiba were present at his burial and still want to vie for president in 2022 – he was referring to DP Ruto.

“I was surprised to see some of the people I worked together with in Kanu back then going to condole with the late Matiba’s family. But I chose not go to pretend because I was one of the main mobilizers of YK92 (Youth for Kanu 92) movement. And some of these people keep saying they want to be the presidents of this country,” said Atwoli.

Atwoli: If my wife fails to show up on Rhumba night I will get another woman for the day

The Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli is excited over labor day celebrations that will be held on May 1. He plans to have fun since respected Rhumba artist, Nyboma Mwan’dido, will be in town and will grace the celebrations at Uhuru Park Grounds.

The boss shared that he’s super excited and want his wife to be present for the event. But in case she doesn’t, he won’t sit back and watch others enjoy the night. He’ll get another woman to enjoy the night with.

“It will not be a joke. I will be there literally dancing, and if possible I am going to convince madam to be with me on that particular day. If she sleeps, I will get somebody to take over on that day,” Atwoli vowed.
