Renowned Kenyan Rapper Femi One Opens Up About Her Relationship

Renowned Kenyan rapper Femi One has revealed that she is currently in a serious and fulfilling relationship, but she is keeping the identity of her partner a secret.

In an interview with Nairobi News, Femi One said that she is a private person and that she does not want to share details about her personal life with the public. She said that she believes in maintaining a certain level of privacy, even when it comes to her relationships.

“I am one private person, I am dating, but I will forever hide their identity. I am a firm believer in not exposing everything out there in the open. Sometimes, other things can be best kept to oneself,” Femi One said.

Femi One is known for her captivating music and fierce personality. She has been in the music industry for over a decade and has released several hit singles. She is also a strong advocate for women’s rights and has spoken out about issues such as gender-based violence and discrimination.

Despite her success in the music industry, Femi One said that she would be interested in exploring other passions if she were not a musician. She said that she would like to be an airline captain because she loves flying.

“If I was not a musician today, I would definitely be an airline captain. I love flying, and I would want to make it my monetary focus,” Femi One said.

Femi One is a talented and successful artist who is also a private person. She values her privacy and believes that it is important to keep some things to herself, even when it comes to her relationships.

Female celebrities should learn a thing or two about privacy from Femi One

I consider Femi One as one of those female rappers who understand their role in the entertainment. This is because she owes her celebrity status to her music that has given her recognition over the years.

Rapper Femi One

One thing for sure is that her journey and growth as a rapper has had its share of up and downs…sometimes missing in action but all through – she maintains a very private life something not many female celebrity relate with.

Low key and still afloat

Unlike most who use their personal lives to keep their celebrity status afloat, Femi One has for years maintained a private life with or without new music.

Don’t get me wrong, I did not say she doesn’t post photos or videos in the company of those she considers friends…because what I mean is – she keeps her personal life off the grid.

Well, you may agree with me….but show me another female celebrity who doesn’t use their personal life to create abuzz online.

“Don’t disrespect me like that” Femi One reacts after being compared to Diana Marua

Diana Marua is the current hot topic on Nairobi blogs since she established her singing career; and so far, she allegedly has 2 songs with over 1 million views – but problem is, none of that looks legit!

With the help of hubby, of course Diana Marua continues to shine in the entertainment industry and this is something Femi One has also seen and is not afraid of appreciating.

However after being compared to her in terms of who raps better, Femi One quickly distanced herself from the comparison saying;

Don’t disrespect me like that…I have experience competing with the likes of Nyashinski. But with rap…the more you do it you become good.

She however went ahead to offer some advice to Ms Marua about the whole music journey saying;

Let her try…she is already in the ring. She looks good… her image is good…looks good on video, so she should try more.

‘Unategemea Collabo Tu’- Fans Att*ck Femi One After Eric Omondi’s Wake Up Call To Artists (Screenshot)

Netizens remain divided on the issue of the performance of Kenyan music and whether artists should heed to Eric Omondi’s wake up call. While this might be a trivial issue to some, it’s evidently paramount to the jester; who is in the brink of changing it all by himself. Well, maybe not alone, but at least this is according to him.

None of the artists are unassailable to Eric’s sentiments as he believes they can do better; so does as a section of fans.

Femi One set to drop 'Greatness'
Femi One-Google

Femi One and Eric have been beefing over the same; after the ‘Utawezana’ hitmaker refuted claims of poor performance of  Kenyan music.

Femi Vs Fans

On one of King Kaka’s latest Instagram post, he warned Eric Omondi of uttering his name in his rants.

Femi would later find herself locking horns with fans on the comment section after she wrote;

”Piga mtu hediiiii !!!!”

One of the fans wrote;

”@thekingkaka erick wants you guys to fight for your space and sure he will reach out to you wachana na femi aendelee kuomba collabos 2”

This particular fan caught the eye of Femi One as she responded;

”@simiyuemily Nakuona sana Wewe you’ve been coming for me …iwe mara ya mwisho !!”

A number of other fans seemed to be in agreement with the sentiment that Femi One relies on collaborations.

@simiyuemily femi one vile hubebwa hajiwezi bila colabo nowander nadia mukami is wining everywhere????????????????”

Femi One decided to keep quiet over the issue.

Femi One Becomes The First African Female Brand Ambassador For Monster Energy

Kenyan female rapper Femi One has bagged a lucrative deal with Monster Energy drink. The ‘Utawezana’ hit maker has become the first African female brand ambassador for the energy drink.

However, Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones was given this role before Femi. He was named the brand ambassador for the drink in 2018.

”Another win for the OG another win for the culture another win for the movement, the Official Monster Energy Drink Brand Ambassador. 2018 has been a good year. Thank you for Believing in me and more blessings to each and every one of y’all #KhaliCartel2, #unleashthebeast #respecttheogs #monsterenergy,”

Femi One Reveals Men Were Sending Him Photos Of Their Private Parts After ‘Utawezana’ Release

Rapper Femi One has indeed become one of Kenya’s most celebrated female rappers. The 26 year old is one of the most successful female singers in the local industry. She is both a songwriter and rapper and is known for her banger dubbed ‘Utawezana’ which featured king of genge Mejja.

After the release of the song, Femi One admits that many men were sending photos of their private part to her. In an interview, Femi One says that the photos were sent to her with most captioning them with ‘nitawezana’ When asked if she received explicit photo’s Femi One replied,

Femi One tackles tough topics in 'Kipetero Kiyesu'

”Ah, izo nazipata sana, especially time nili release ‘Utawezana’… Ona hii, ona hii. Niliona vitu, niliona mbaya… Hio time ilikuwa mbaya. Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya…”

Femi one reveals that during this period, she avoided some of the people’s messages due to this reason. She also claims she got nudes from men from Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.

Although this was one of her challenges, the rapper’s song was a hit in all the three countries. She even went ahead to perform in Tanzania, where her song was ranked number 3 trending.

Femi One brings the fire in new video | Music In Africa

The hit song boosted her career music-wise and has enabled her to get collabos with other international musicians.

The song has fetched over 10 million views on YouTube since it’s release last year, making it one of the most viewed songs in the country in the shortest period.

We are eagerly waiting for another banger from talented Femi One. I bet she won’t disappoint.

Nviiri The Storyteller’s musical chemistry with Femi One is unmatched!

I don’t know about you but if there is a musical ‘pair’ that I am really feeling right now, it is without the slightest doubt Nviiri The Storyteller and Femi One.

Nviiri The Storyteller

While they are not necessarily members of the a singular group, I just feel that they should release more collabos because their musical chemistry is just on another level.

Although some people  might argue that it is hard two asses their musical chemistry because they have only released two songs since they started working together last year, I think that is neither here nor there.

They first treated us, their loyal fans, to Kipetero Kiyesu and before we could even catch a breath, they dropped another jam dubbed Bar. These two songs are arguably some of the best Kenyan songs from 2020.

Femi One

Both Nviiri and Femi One are really talented. While the former identifies as a love/pop singer, the Utawezana hit maker prides herself in being a rapper.

What baffles me about these two artists is how they are able to merge their two different sounds and come up with a jam that will make you hit the repeat button a couple of times.

Of the two songs that they have done, Bar is definitely my most favourite. Not that there is anything that is wrong with Kipetero Kiyesu, but I have listened to the former hundreds of times and I am still not fed up with it.

I know the year has just began and I don’t mean to pile pressure on the two but they should know that we are really looking forward to what they have in store for us this year. Enough said.

Watch Bar below and tell us what you think in the comments section. Enjoy!

“Ameniruka kipetero kiyesu,” Femi One exposes rumored baby daddy

Kenyan female rapper, Femi One has come out to expose her rumored baby daddy for denying being the father to her unborn twins.

Just last week, the Internet had clogged with videos of the babe gorgeously rocking her baby bump, leaving fans excited. Speculating that her Utawezana co-artist, Mejja was the one responsible.

Days later, dropping hints on the father to her unborn twins sweetly gushing over him as Baby Daddy ❤️”. This fueled controversies further, leaving fans on the edge regards her new found love.

Deadbeat baby daddy

Sadly, hardly had she broken the news of her pregnancy, that the father to her unborn twins denied responsibility. Leaving the baggage of bringing up two children, on the singer.

Rapper Femi One

The Utawezana hitmaker has called out her baby daddy for neglecting what was supposed to be a beautiful home, instead accusing her of cheating on him, that resulted in the pregnancy.

“Alidai anataka supu with a baby girl, so nikajipa na tamaa, akanipachika, kisha akaniruka kipetero kiyesu,” cried out Femi One.

Her efforts to persistently ring the father to her unborn children proved futile, having switched off his phone.

Sadly, her baby daddy took off just as she was about to take him home to her parents, only to jump ship and leave group.

All this was in a bid to condemn the vices committed by various individuals in the country. Right from the top leadership to the common mwananchi who goes impregnating a woman, promising to raise the children together, only to deny his own responsibility.

In the 4-minute video clip, there is a mix of injustices, corruption scandals, road protests by Kenyans, complete with a real-life example of a girl who had to bear the weight of her short-lived lover affair, a pregnancy, after her man took off.

It is already clear that Coronavirus remains a past and no-known fact in Tanzania, recently staging full capacity stadium concerts, netizens spotted time and again with no masks in crowded shopping malls, markets and even entertainment places.

Just to confirm the statement, a recent video of Kenya’s high-flying rapper, King Kaka clubbing in the wee hours of the night with Tanzanian musician, Baraka the Prince among other revelers, surfaced online.

For him, Tanzania might soon be his new home, because unlike the constant night curfews and social gatherings’ restrictions in Kenya, it was a whole different game in the neighboring motherland. In fact, they were not leaving that club until around 4am the next day.

Naiboi is ahead of his time

Michael Kennedy Claver, better known as Naiboi, is without a doubt one of the few music geniuses that we have in the country at the moment. If you ask me, I’ll tell you that he’s way ahead of his time.

Also read: Naiboi has really slowed down lately

I have to admit that I was a little bit worried when I realized that the Pacho Records founder didn’t have a song whose success can be compared to 2018’s 2 in 1 then Sondeka All Stars Remix happened.

Naiboi

If you look at the artists who were featured on the song, from the new-age acts to those who have been in the game for longer, then you’ll appreciate Naiboi’s ingenuity.

Just like 2 in 1 – which was made up of short videos of celebrities singing along to the song – Sondeka All Stars Remix features artists who are constantly on the lips of Kenyans.

They are; Fena Gitu, Mordecai of H_art The Band, Visita, Benzema of Ochunglo Family, Kristoff, Ex Ray of Boondocks Gang, Femi One and Khaligraph Jones.

Khaligraph Jones

Chances are, your favourite artist(s) is among the aforementioned names and this will make you listen to the song, and when you do you’ll realize that it’s actually a masterpiece.

To prove that the project was a brilliant idea, it has not only clocked 300,000 views, which is really good, but it has also been on the top 5 trending songs since it was released.

Naiboi just doesn’t release music like most local artists, every step is well-thought-out and the end result is always amazing.

I don’t know what he is planning next but I can tell you for free that it will be unique and you will be left asking for more. Established artists who are struggling to stay afloat should take a cue form him.

EXCLUSIVE: Azziad Nasenya ‘Kenyan Tik Tok Queen’ opens up about her dating life, fame and being cyber bullied

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard of the name Azziad Nasenya, such a lovely name right? Anyway, sorry for digressing.

Azziad Nasenya alias Kenyan Tik Tok Queen

She’s the gorgeous lass who literally broke the internet after recording a video of herself dancing and singing along to Femi One and Mejja’s latest jam dubbed Utaniweza – which is literally fire by the way.

The video has garnered more than 243,000 views on Instagram and about 734,000 on Tik Tok by the time this piece went up. I don’t know what you make of that but it’s a big deal.

Azziad is also the reason why the real version of the track has been trending at number one on YouTube and hit more than 1.4 million views since she inspired people to start the #UtaniwezaChallenge.

Azziad Nasenya alias Kenyan Tik Tok Queen

The 19-year old – who studies broadcast journalism at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) – trended top on Twitter for about two days, others have even christened her the Tik Tok Queen and we stan.

Sadly, a few days later things took a bad turn and people started bullying her. Some accused her of bleaching her skin while others had an issue with her physique. Someone also leaked her number online and she started getting strange calls and Whats App messages.

I reached out to her and we had a lengthy conversation about anything and everything, from her new-found fame to her dating life, making money from content creation, being cyber bullied, aspirations and whatnot.

Listen to the interview below.

Femi One is great but we don’t say it enough

Kenyan femcee Wanjiku Kimani, known to you and I as Femi One Shiko, has always been a great artist and I do not know why many people are only starting to see it now after she teamed up with Mejja on Utawezana.

Also read: Female rap wars should come back

If you have always been a fan of hers or local music for that matter I m sure you vividly remember how she aced her verse on King Kaka’s Ligi Soo Remix.

She even outdid some of the men who were featured on that song and then she kind of disappeared only to reappear in 2016 and start beefing with the likes of Njeri, Kyki and Noti Flow.

Naiboi is back with 'Sondeka' 2 featuring All Stars
Femi One

I don’t really know why she has been so inconsistent but the one thing I am sure about is that she’s a dope rapper so much so that she can go up against someone like Khaligraph Jones and put up a good fight.

The truth is that the Kenyan music industry is a tough place, especially if you are a lady and faint-hearted. Some of the things that happen can make you quit without even blinking an eye. It’s just what it is.

So you can understand why an artist who is as great as Femi One has not had a hit in so many years but I’m kind of happy that she has gotten her groove back.

Femi One

She is such a natural. She is one rapper that you’ll hear flowing and you just start smiling because her rhymes and punchlines are so sick but effortless. I don’t know if you know what I mean when I say that.

I hope now that she is back to making hits, she can keep up because people who are huge fans of her music like me had really missed this side of her and we are more than excited that she is back to her former self.

Kenyan female musicians should put in more work in 2020

In as much as 2019 was a great year for many local musicians reason being Gengetone literally blew up, I kind of felt like female musicians were left behind.

Think of it though, if someone asked you to name Kenyan female singers who shone this year I’m sure they would be a handful and I’m not kidding.

Noti Flow
Noti Flow

The list would probably have the likes of; Nadia Mukami, Fena Gitu, Noti Flow, Jovial, Femi One and that’s it but I’m sure many people can’t even name one song that was released by some of the aforementioned artists in 2019.

I understand that female artists face more challenges in the industry because many of the key players like producers, videographers, promoters, marketers don’t take them seriously but we need them to pull up their socks.

I don’t know why but something tells me that 2020 will be a great year for female musicians. I just have a feeling that we’ll see more releases from them compared to 2019.

I remember those days when many female artists were a big deal and the whole country was literally paying attention to them and waiting for their next release.

Femi One
Femi One

For instance, I am sure you all remember the beef between Noti Flow, Njeri, Femi One and Kyki. That is what I want to see more of next year and I am not saying they have to insult each other to get us talking.

All I am saying is that we need female musicians to take center stage in 2020 because as things are at the moment, it seems like Kenya only has male musicians.

King Kaka’s new collabo with Xenia Manasseh titled ‘Dear Stranger’ is totally dope (Video)

Celebrated Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima, popularly known as King Kaka, has released a new song with Xenia Manasseh and it’s totally worth your time.

Also read: King Kaka is releasing so many songs but nobody cares

The song dubbed Dear Stranger, which is off his mixtape titled The Servant & The King, is about people that he was really close with at one point in time but they had to part ways for one reason or the other. Hence, they became strangers, sort of.

Arrow Bwoy
Arrow Bwoy

In the song, the Run Ting hitmaker mentions the likes of; Femi One, Arrow Bwoy, Avril, Rich Mavoko, Timmy Tdat, Pascal Tokodi, Phy and goes on to reveal how they influenced his life and vice versa.

His message to these people – who he helped rise in the local music industry – is that he’ll always be there for them and will help them realize their dreams, even if they disagreed at some point.

I love this jam. Apart from the fact that it’s well-arranged, it made realized that King King has sacrificed so much for many artists, were it not for him you would have probably never heard about some of the aforementioned musicians.

I don’t know about you but this song too me back to the Kaka Sungura that I used to listen to 10 years (or so ago) and the truth is that I had missed this version of him.

Xenia Manasseh
Xenia Manasseh

Notably, Xenia Manasseh also came through on this jam. She spiced it up with her mellow voice and believe you me, even if you don’t like King Kaka, the former will make you love this song.

I also love the instrumentation on this song. The tempo just blends well with both King Kaka and Xenia’s voices and it will get you hooked from the moment you hit the play button.

The video is also dope. The really utilized the location i.e. Lord Egerton Castle. Notably, the scene transitioning was also on point. Props to the videographer – CJ.

Femi One has teamed up with Boondocks Gang, Mbithi and DJ Lyta on ‘Nyoko Nyoko’ and it’s too lit (Video)

Kenya femcee Femi One is back with a new song almost two months after she released Moto and we are really feeling it ladies and gentlemen.

Also read: Fena Gitu Vs Wangechi Vs Femi One: Who is the best female rapper?

The song titled Nyoko Nyoko is a collabo with Odi Wa Muranga and Ex Ray, who are both from Boondocks Gang, as well as Mbithi The Kamba Boy and DJ Lyta.

I don’t really know what nyoko nyoko means but it’s provocative. Anyway, I’m kidding, it means mother but its often used as an abuse. In this this song, it’s more of the latter.

Femi One
Femi One

But we really don’t care because this is a party anthem. If you are looking for content, then I would advice you to look elsewhere.

I love this jam not for any other reason but because the delivery by all the artists i.e. Femi One, Odi Wa Murang’a, Ex Ray and Mbithi The Kamba Boy was really on point. They really had some dope verses.

However, if I had to choose one then I’d go for Femi One, as you would  easily expect, followed by Odi Wa Murang’a, they are the business.

Of course, Ex Ray’s verse also stands out because of his rhymes, that will definitely make you scratch your head, and unique voice, so does Mbithi The Kamba Boy’s verse.

Ex Ray and Odi Wa Murang'a
Ex Ray and Odi Wa Murang’a

The beat fir this jam was produced by the one and only Ilogos Music and I really love it. However, I feel some people will say it’s too slow because it’s not like most of the Gengetone beats that we’ve gotten used to.

The only thing that didn’t really amaze me is the video, I felt like it was too cliche. Most Gengetone songs are shot on the streets. That notwithstanding, Johnson Kyallo did a good job, especially during the editing.

Watch Nyoko Nyoko below and tell us what you think.

Fena Gitu Vs Wangechi Vs Femi One: Who is the best female rapper?

If you ask me, I’ll tell you for free that Kenya has some of the best female rappers in the continent.

In my opinion, some of the best local female rappers are Fena Gitu, Wangechi, Femi One. I think they are all gifted and Kenya is lucky to have them.

However, for one reason or the other, I still want to know who among them it the baddest rapper.

Some of the aspects that I would like you to examine in the wordplay, rhymes and general flow as they will help you in decide who is the best of the best.

Fena Gitu

She has a very unique approach to music. Some argue that she is more of a singer than a rapper but what they all agree is that she is good.

Wangechi

We came to know her when she featured on the Ligi Soo remix and the journey has been since then. She has treated us to good music. Even if you don’t love her, you’ll have to admit that he bars are off the hook.

Femi One

She on of the most respected female rappers in the game. She has been around for sometime now and I don’t think she will ever stop being relevant.

So, tell us, who according to you is the best female rapper?

Bag or Trash? Femi One makes comeback with new single dubbed “Moto”

Rapper Shiko Femi One has made a comeback with a new single dubbed “Moto” that has been featured in his new album  XXV.

Femi One released the EP in April while celebrating her 25th birthday.

Performance

The song was mixed and mastered by Prvk and The other guys while the video was done by Johnson Kyalo. Popular rapper Mbithi, who is known for his deadly Kamba verses has also been featured in the song.

The song already has 20k views on Youtube and looks like it will perform way better despite the singer missing in a lot of action lately.

Female rap wars should come back!

One of the things that made 2016 a memorable year, at least for me, was the female rap wars that dominated the local music industry.

It all started when rapper Njeri released a song dubbed No King. She took a swipe at several Kenyan artists, both male and female, in the song  including the self-proclaimed rap queen Femi One.

In the diss track, there’s a part where she ridiculed a song by Femi dubbed Brikicho that failed to become a hit.

Femi One
Femi One

As expected, Femi did not take the insults lying down. She got into studio a few days later and realeased a song titled Pilau Njeri.

Apart from ridiculing Njeri in the song, she also took shot at other Kenyan female rappers and reffered to herself as the baddest femcee.

Before we knew it, Njeri released another diss track dubbed Conoka (Femiplan). Female rappers such as Kyki and Noti Flow also weighed in with a songs titled Kuku Mwitu and Forehead respectively.

Soon enough, everyone was talking about the beef and waiting for the next diss track to drop.

To be honest, that was a very interesting time. I honestly wish that the female rap wars could come back not for any other reason but because I enjoyed how each of them went out of their way to show us that they were the best.

The beefs brought the local rap scene to life. We even forgot about male rappers for a moment since we were focusing on their female counterparts.

I often imagine how things would be like if we had the female rap wars today and I get excited just by the thought of it.

The best part is that Njeri, Kyki, Femi One, Noti Flow etc. are all alive and kicking so why don’t they do the needful? I have to ask Msupa S to sit this one out because nobody takes her seriously anyway!

Femi One mocks Hopekid and DK Kwenye Beat in latest hit ‘Hiyo One’ (Video)

I have longed for the day when I could finally say that Kenya’s queen of rap Femi One is finally back. Ladies and gentlemen, that day is finally here! Femi One is back! You can tell that I’m excited as I write this, I’ll try and contain myself.

Allow me to jog your memories a bit. Do you remember how Femi One killed it on Pilau Njeri, Jah or the Ligi Soo (Remix)? These songs were released more than three years ago. This was when we could all agree that she was in her best element.

Somewhere along the way, she lost her mojo so much so that mediocre rappers such as Msupa S thought they could trade insults with her. Imagine the audacity! I digress.

Femi One

And no, no one has said that Femi One has not released any song in the last three years. She actually had a couple of songs. However, most of her fans, including yours truly, felt that she was just releasing music for the sake of it and not what we had known her for.

After being lost for so many years, Femi One is back to her roots or rather given us a reason to believe that she is still the badesst female rapper in the region.

A few days ago, she released a brand new hit dubbed Hiyo One and we can’t get enough of it. Everything about her new song is on point.

From the punchlines to the wordplay, to the beat, to the beat that was made by Kevin Provoke. Nothing is amiss about this song. For the first time in a long time, I really felt like Femi had lived up to her name as the queen of Kenyan rap.

Femi One

My favourite verse in this song has to be when she said “Fresh kama Tropical fresh Vs PK, I am so sick f*ck Hope kid DK,” I was literally on the floor when she dropped that line.

I listened to Hiyo One a couple of times while trying to understand the thought process behind it. I came to the conclusion that Femi One can never be dethroned. It’s never happening.

The video was directed by Ricky Bekko of Big Dreams Entertainment.

If you think your opinion is relevant in Femi One’s life then you thought wrong. She is one woman who does not advice from anyone simply because you think it’s best for her. The singer cum rapper revealed this in a well detailed post she shared on her gram early this morning telling off ‘wanna be friends’ trying to get involved in her life.

Judging from her post seems that her friends had started advising he on the type of songs she should be doing and how she should be dressing now that her career seems to be showing some growth.

She however made it clear that she does not need anyone telling her what she should or should not do with her life. For now their comments and advices remain irrelevant until the day she will ask for it.
