Elizabeth Michael Lulu and her sweetheart Majizzo have cleared the last hurdle to their wedding. The two lovebirds got engaged in early October, just five months after Lulu was released from prison.
Majizzo asked for Lulu’s hand in marriage at a private party. His youngest son was the one who popped the question to Lulu before handing her the engagement ring.
For starters, Majizo is the father of Hamisa Mobetto’s daughter Fantasy and he also has three older boys from a previous marriage.

Dowry
Majizzo paid dowry to Lulu’s parents in a ceremony held over the past weekend. E-FM owner announced on social media that he had paid dowry, he shared photo taken at the function and captioned it ‘done deal’.

Lulu was found of guilty of manslaughter on November 13th 2017. She was however released from prison on May 12th 2018 after only serving six months of her two year jail term.
Kanumba’s mother Flora Mtegoa was devastated by Lulu’s release from prison. She said Lulu should have been locked for at least a year before being released.
Flora Mtegoa has since forgiven Lulu for causing the death of her son. In an interview with EATV, Kanumba’s mother said she will attend Lulu’s wedding if she will be invited.

Lulu is set to walk down the aisle with her sweetheart Majizzo following their colorful engagement. Majizo is the father of Hamisa Mobetto’s daughter Fantasy and he also has three older boys from a previous marriage.
A pastor and his wife have pitched tent outside Steve Kanumba’s parent’s house claiming that their dead son has been haunting them and threatening to harm their child.
Numbi Mwilambwe and his wife Ngoy Mfumuabana, both Congolese, claim that Kanumba, who was killed by Lulu Elizabeth in 2012, has been in Ngoy’s dreams always threatening to kill their son.
The husband at first, however, kept brushing of the wife.
“Whatever brought us to Dar es Salaam is our need to speak to Stephen’s mother just like he directed us in our dreams. We do not have relatives here in Dar and we never met the actor when he was still alive,” Numbi narrated.
Disbelief
The couple claim that their last born son, Felix, fell ill when they decided to go against the ghost’s wishes which were to name their son after him.
“We took him to hospital but he did not get better. All this because we did not heed to what my wife was told in her dreams,” they said.
The husband didn’t want to believe what his wife said, but after naming their last born after him, the diseases went away.
Bongo Flava singer Ray C might have released a couple of gospel songs or worked with a gospel artist here and there, but she can’t remember the last time she was in church.
And after watching a clip of Bongo Movie actress Elizabeth Michael aka Lulu Michael in church praising the lord, she’s missed just being in the house of the lord.

On social media, a video of Lulu, who is just coming from a jail sentence of almost an year after killing her boyfriend and colleague Steven Kanumba in 2012, was recorded in church praising God. The video moved Ray C.

I won’t attend
Steven Kanumba’s mother Flora Mtegoa has however made it clear that she won’t attend the wedding. Mama Kanumba was devastated by Lulu’s release from prison. (Lulu was sentenced to two years in prison for killing Kanumba but she was released after only serving 6 months).
Kanumba’s mother explains that she already has pressure and that by going to Lulu’s wedding things could be worse for her. She told Ijumaa Wikienda that she won’t attend the wedding even if she is invited.

Rejection
For starters, Bahati traveled to Tanzania sometimes in 2016 to convince Lulu to feature in his song ‘Maria’. No amount of persuasion would convince Lulu to meet Bahati, he stayed in a hotel in Dar for two days trying to call Lulu who was obviously ignoring him.

Kanumba’s mom Flora Mtegoa expressed disapproval of Lulu’s release from prison. Mama Kanumba says the state should have let her serve at least a year in prison, she says her release has saddened her.
Kanumba’s father Charles Kusekwa Kanumba is however pleased that Lulu is out of prison. Mr Kusekwa claims that even if Lulu was to serve 100 years nothing would change since they have already lost their son.
“Kila kitu hapa duniani hupangwa na Mungu na kila kinachotokea ni mapenzi yake, siwezi kulaumu kwa nini Lulu ametoka bali nimefurahi kwa sababu hata angefungwa miaka mia moja, Kanumba tayari alishafariki dunia, hawezi kurudi duniani. Kanumba’s father also claims that Lulu is his late son’s wife as long as Sukuma custom and traditions are concerned. He says he is happy Lulu is finally free because she can now attend to her husband’s grave.

Joy after five years
Kanumba was buried in 2012 while his death mystery hadn’t been resolved. The deceased’s family had to wait for five years to get answers to their kin’s death.
Flora Mtegoa now wants to ‘rebury’ her son because she has found inner peace. Kanumba’s mother said she would go to her son’s grave at Kinondonni cemetery just to meditate.
“Kwa sasa sina la kusema ila naishukuru sana Mahakama kwa kutenda haki, pia niishukuru sana Serikali yangu lakini pia nikitoka hapa nitakwenda makaburini kwa ajili ya kumzika upya mwanangu Kanumba,” said Flora Mtegoa.

Lulu’s fellow actor and a very close friend Muhsin Awadh popularly known as Dk Cheni, has opened up about the actress’ decision not to appeal her prison sentence.

Two years is a short time
Lulu doesn’t want to fight the court’s decision because her prison term is short. Dk Cheni says the actress instructed her family not to appeal the court sentence.
“Sipingani na maamuzi ya Mungu, haya ni maamuzi yake na nimekubaliana nayo. Ana makusudi yake kunipa hiki kilichotokea leo. Acheni miaka miwili siyo mingi, sitaki kupingana na mahakama , naheshimu maamuzi ya mahakama, acheni nitumikie kifungo changu,” Lulu was quoted saying by Dk Cheni.

In most scenarios a murderer would be condemned if found guilty by the court. But not with Elizabeth Lulu’s sentencing.

Kanumba’s younger brother Seth Bosco told the court that Lulu had an altercation with the deceased on that fateful day. He explained that the two were quarreling because Lulu picked up a call from another man in the presence of the deceased.
Bosco further reveals that Lulu came out of the room and informed her that Kanumba had collapsed. The two called a doctor who declared Kanumba dead upon examining him.

Kanumba died when Lulu fatally pushed him against the wall. Esther Zephania, a detective who arrested Lulu on that fateful day, told the court that wall of the room where the actor died had black blood-like stains.

Lulu’s lawyer Peter Kibatala requested the court to pardon his client. He argues that she committed the crime when she was still young.
The lawyer further begged the court to forgive Lulu saying that she is her family’s bread-winner. Kibatala asked the court to free his client so that she could continue providing for her family.
The High Court however found Lulu guilty of unintentionally killing Steven Kanumba. Kibatala vowed to challenge the ruling even as Lulu was sent to prison to start serving the two year jail term.
