Miguna Miguna advises Eliud Kipchoge to Retire

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has urged World Marathon Champion Eliud Kipchoge to retire from active athletics while he is still at the top of his career.

Miguna made the remarks in a post on Twitter while congratulating Kipchoge for his win at the Berlin marathon on Sunday.

“Congratulations, Eliud Kipchoge. You have made history. Now, retire when you are on top! Viva!,” Miguna said.

Miguna said a good example of an athlete who retired at the right time was Jamaican Sprinter Usain Bolt who exited the stage in 2017. Bolt was considered the greatest sprinter of all time.

“It’s imperative that human beings appreciate that no matter how gifted one is, his/her energy, skills and performance depreciate with time. The way Usain Bolt did,” Miguna said.

He said an example of an athlete who failed to retire at the right time is golf champion Tiger Woods. Miguna said no one has ever dominated the golf course and sports better than Woods in recent history.

“But he did not know when to retire from competitive professional sports. Nowadays, Tiger Woods has become a spectacle of pity- and those with no memory no longer remember how great he was on the golf courses of the world,” Miguna said.

Kipchoge won the Berlin Marathon for the fifth time on Sunday, clocking 2:02:42. He is the current holder of the marathon world record, which he set with a finish time of 2:01:09.

Ahead of the race, Kipchoge stated that his main goal is to win three consecutive Olympic gold medals and that he believes running in Berlin is the best way to prepare for this.

Miguna’s advice to Kipchoge to retire while he is on top is understandable. Kipchoge is one of the greatest marathon runners of all time, and there is a risk that his performances will decline as he gets older. However, the decision of when to retire is ultimately up to Kipchoge himself.

The limited edition truck will come in Isuzu’s iconic desert orange color which will only be available for the Kipchoge edition. The limited edition D-Max is a fitting tribute to Eliud Kipchoge, a true Kenyan hero. It is a powerful and luxurious vehicle that is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.

The Only Delo is back with ‘Kipchoge’ and we love it (Video)

Upcoming singer The Only Delo, who is famed for his Chupa Ku Chupa mega hit, has released a new song and we are really feeling it. Like, really!

The jam titled Kipchoge pays homage to Eluid Kipchoge who made history after running a marathon in a record time of  1 hour, 59 minutes and 40 seconds.

The underlying message in this song is that people should never give up in what you believe in no matter how hard it may seem because of one reason or the other.

In as much as I love this song, I have to admit that I kept comparing it to Nyashinski’s Marathon Runner (Kipchoge) – which was released in March this year – as I was listening to it.

The hook for both jams which goes like “Kipchoge, keep jogging, keep jogging,” and this is not good because it makes Delo look like a copy paster.

That said, his lyrics in this jam are solid, I really loved the rhymes in it but if you compare it with Chupa Ku Chupa, it looks like child’s play but then again maybe it’s just me.

The beat on this track is also on point. However, you won’t even notice that it’s even there because as is the case with Delo’s songs, you just want to listen to his punchlines.

This jam is such a beautiful composition and in my opinion it couldn’t have come at a better time seeing as Mashujaa Day – the day we’ve set aside to celebrate our heroes – is around the corner.

The other thing that struck me about this song was how Emmy switches from her native Kalenjin language to English and vice verse. Although I could not understand the former, I still felt like it was a vibe.

Her vocals were also dope. She this beautiful coarse voice that I can’t get enough of. The beat and instrumentation on this jam was also on point. Generally speaking, it is a dope song that might just get good traction.
