“I’ve been on a gym workout routine for 8 months,” Eric Omondi explains his ‘sudden’ weight gain

Eric Omondi has come out to narrate his struggles in an 8-month journey to build muscles that have eventually borne fruit.

The self-proclaimed President of comedy in Africa, speaking on The Trend show, admitted that it got to a point he nearly gave up about ever gaining weight, let alone building muscles.

The fitness journey

“Around February, March, April, I gave up so many times. I was in and out of the gym because I could not see any progress, yet it was so painful,” Eric opened up.

“Nilikuwa najiuliza nafanya nini. Si nifanye tu comedy maisha iendelee,” he remarks.

Sending Amina Abdi into loud laughter, unable to restrain herself from the comedians struggles.

However, Eric has declared;

“There’s no going back now.”

Revealing that it has been 8 consistent months of gym training.

“I got a trainer and a nutritionist end of April and I started seeing results around June. One day while in the shower, I saw small bumps on my hand as I stretched and I was impressed,” an excited Eric spilled.

Eric Omondi

He would even call his trainer to explain how he saw small bumps.

But the day he went to perform in Tz and removed his shirt on stage, the comment section was full of messages about him gaining weight and that is the day he declared he would not stop.

Before Eric’s confession went overboard and Amina Abdi admitted;

“You’re killing me!”

Eric Omondis beef with Ezekiel Mutua explained

Talking of his ugly clash with KFCB Boss, Dr Ezekiel Mutua last week, Eric categorically stated that it is not the first time they have crossed paths in that manner.

Ezekiel Mutua

According to the award-winning comedian, he does not understand why Dr Ezekiel only speaks when something deemed immoral happens.

“My main issue with him is: I have never heard him congratulate or encourage artistes. We win awards, I just launched Big Tyme studios but he said nothing. Even as a father, when your son comes home with good grades, tell them congratulations so that when they do wrong, you have the chance to criticize him,” Eric stated.

“Are your parents proud of you?” Ezekiel Mutua calls out Gengetone group ‘Mbogi Genje’

Barely days after Mwalimu King’ang’i strongly censured Gengetone artistes, KFCB Boss Dr Ezekiel Mutua is on their case as well.

In a heated discussion during their Classic 105 morning show, Churchill believed Gengetone artistes are the individuals misleading the youths into believing that ratchetness is the route to take.

“Parents are fighting another pandemic and it’s this Gengetone generation! Hii ni generation ya watoto huwezi ambia kitu” Mr Ndambuki publicly addressed.

Well, it now looks like his school of thought is one many agree with after media ethics cop, Ezekiel Mutua came out to bash the current trends youths have embraced today, because of the influence of the media.

Ezekiel Mutua speaks

“What has become of us as a society? And people are treating all these as normal and this only shows the sinking of this nation,” he stated.

Before questioning parents to the likes of Gengetone groups like ‘Bogi Genje’ who have clearly deviated into the kind of behavior and content parents would easily condemn.

“Are their parents proud of them? Those kids who sing dirty things or post their nudes on social media, whose kids are they? Don’t they have parents?” he questioned.

Adding that artistes and the media should realize the kind of power they hold to influence and shape societal norms, values and character.

A power they must uphold responsibly and professionally.

“Life has no meaning if we lose it at this point. Everything boils down to creating a future from the present. Let’s protect our future by protecting children from harmful content,” he advised the public.

A series of tweets by the moral cop that have received a mix of reactions from the Kenyan public.

Ezekiel Mutua blames vulgar vernacular music for 4,000 teen pregnancies reported in Machakos

The current statistics showing at least 4,000 pregnancies among school-going girls in Machakos county, is if anything, disturbing.

Statistics that have been pegged to the ongoing partial lock down in the country that forced learning institutions to shut down from as early as mid-March when the first case of Coronavirus was reported in Kenya.

An abrupt disruption in the education sector that saw nearly 17 million learners nationwide, get sent packing to their homes.

Kenya´s COVID-19 cases forced schools countrywide to shut down

A situation that the country has been experiencing for at least 3 months now and which has left learners with nothing much to do at home.

Sadly though, in these 3 months, at least 4,000 reported pregnancies were borne in Machakos, majority out of wedlock. This has not only painted a bad picture for the county under Dr Alfred Mutua´s governance but which has also left majority of parents with questions.

Ezekiel Mutua

Giving his two cents on the same, Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO, Dr Ezekiel Mutua has pined the blame on the vulgar vernacular content that has been aired on TV and radio and that has corrupted the minds of these young ones.

Media ethics cop, Dr Ezekiel Mutua

According to him, a survey conducted by the Board in 2017 showed Machakos as a leading county when it comes to production of explicit vernacular music content and to him, the current reports are nothing surprising.

Dr Ezekiel Mutua´s tweet

Unfortunately, even after they raised the alarm 3 years back, it looks like no one listened and the fruits have now shown themselves.

¨Kamba vernacular music normalized teenage sex and objectification of women,¨ he stated. Adding that majority of these songs featured young girls, with bands taking up sexualized stage names.

Dr Ezekiel Mutua´s tweet

He expressed just how much remorse he had in acknowledging the fact that a higher percentage of Kamba music content ´encourages s*x with young girls and even rape´.

Strongly affirming that it is time all this came to an end. A lot of yapping has been done but it is now time action was taken because just how do you deal with 4,000 pregnancies?

A question that remains unanswered and a statistic that has left many parents and netizens in shock.

Dr Ezekiel Mutua honors invite to grace the much popularized ¨Men´s Conference¨ in Kenya set for Valentine´s Day

Mark your calendar because the 14th of February 2020, may either make or break the hearts of women on the Kenyan land.

The popular date ´Valentine´s day´, that globally appreciates love between couples, will be celebrated differently by Kenyan men, this time around.

The men of this country have slotted in a Men´s Conference that will grace keynote speakers, among them, vocal media ethics´ chiefwhip, Ezekiel Mutua.

Dr Ezekiel Mutua set to give a keynote speech during Men´s Conference on Valentine´s Day

Bone of contention

Describing the current local situation, the KFCB Boss who honored an invite to grace the event, highlighted:

We must “rescue men” and guide them to be men in their homes and areas of influence. One of the sub-themes at the proposed conference is “Gather All, Scatter None”. We shall teach men how to love their wives and provide for their families.

The moral cop decried the shrinking recognition of the boy child in Kenya. Condemning the heavy adoption of Western culture that has seen men lose meaning in an African family setting.

We must “rescue men” and guide them to be men in their homes and areas of influence – KFCB Boss decries

The theme of the day will be ¨The role and Place of Man in Society¨. The event allegedly seeks the abolition of Valentine´s Day.

Dr Ezekiel expressed:

Given the importance of this discourse, I am inclined to accept the proposal and will in due course issue a comprehensive statement on the way forward after thorough consultations with elders who have in the past expressed strong views in having the men’s conference designated a national day to reflect on how men can play a better role in the campaign for restoration of moral values in Kenya.

Former Elgeyo Marakwet county assembly speaker, Albert Kochei, will moderate the event.

Key public figures, businessmen and church leaders will be in attendance.

Enough is enough! Ezekiel Mutua now looking for pastor Ng’ang’a

Moral cop  Ezekiel Mutua who is the CEO of Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) is now hunting for controversial Neno Evangelism Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a following his recent viral clips.

Ng’ang’a has been trending now for several days and Mutua wants to have a sit down with him over his work.

“I have reached out to pastors who know pastor Ngángá, in fact, I am personally looking for him just to tell him that he didn’t come to where he is because of these theatrics,” said Dr. Mutua.

Extreme

He went on to say that pastors should be warned not to do anything extreme on TV because that looks like the direction they are headed.

“Our call was just a warning shot to say this drama may look popular, you might trend look popular and attract crazy people who will come to church on because they want drama on Sunday people are bored and they don’t want  boring sermons they want crazy person who plays guitar and sing crazy songs,”he said.

“I known Pastor Ng’ang’a he has even ministered to me, we share friends and I have nothing against him”.

Challenge! KFCB Boss, Dr Ezekiel Mutua now floats a whooping Ksh 1 M for artistes who hit the 1 M subscribers mark

Just yesterday, media ethics´ chiefwhip, Dr Ezekiel Mutua set the bar for local artistes tabling an offer of Ksh 1 M to any artist that hits 1 M subscribers mark on You Tube, from positive content.

May the 7th, 2019, the KFCB Boss only offers the massive bill to artistes who are out to generate educative and informative content.

He shares:

The Board has announced a One Million for One Million Campaign dubbed “M4M” which will seek to award who reach the 1M subscribers on their channels by posting positive messages with Ksh. 1M to establish online business & create employment through clean entertainment.

This might be in a bid to censor and call off the ill content that young talents are producing just for fame and the money.

Well, the bar has been set pretty high.

History

The media ethics´ trailblazer might have on numerous occasions rubbed shoulders with upcoming and promising talents but he shares a different side of himself too.

He just celebrated online comedian, Henry Desagu because of the kind of content he impacts society with.

Henry Desagu who started from the roots and now brags of 100 K subscribers, recently bagged the coveted Silver Creator Award because of his brains.

Dr E Mutua was not left behind after gifting him Ksh 200 K because he is impressed by the young talents work of art.

Dr E Mutua has put it clear that he is not out to nail down young talents but seeks to ensure that the youth are up to the task in the kind of content they are impacting society with.

Challenge

The KFCB chairperson has therefore floated a whooping Ksh 1 M for upcoming talents whose music content is for the good of all.

However, that might not be as easy as A..B..C, International artistes the likes of Diamond Platinumz might have been among the few who scooped 1 M plus subscribers.

Getting awarded Ksh 1 M for amassing such a crowd is worth it and probably calls for more, and by the time one is hitting the 1 M mark, You Tube itself cashes in money for you.

1 M subscribers is on another level, that we have to admit.

It is definitely a hefty task but let´s wait and see who comes out a millionaire.

Who´s up for the challenge?

Police now hunting for “Taka Taka” singer Alvindo after he defied ban and released video

“Taka Taka” singer Alvindo is now a wanted man following the song’s video release last week despite being banned by the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB).

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in collaboration with Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) officers have launched a manhunt for the singer after he released the video last week.

Operation

The film regulator banned the song two weeks ago on grounds of obscenity and promoting violence against women.

“KFCB bans the song due to its obscene and degrading lyrics that advocate for violence against women by equating them to trash,” said KFCB CEO Ezekiel Mutua in a directive.

“No DJ should play the song either on the broadcast station or in entertainment joints. Broadcasting, exhibition, distribution (including online) or possession of the song ‘Takataka’ by Alvin aka Alvindo is a criminal offense,” he added.

According to Mutua, Alvindo will be arrested and the video used as exhibit in court.

“The culprits will serve as an example that the war against unrated films and dirty content is not empty talk. There will be nowhere to hide for people who break the law with impunity in the name of creativity.” said Mutua.

Media ethics´ Trailblazer, Ezekiel Mutua publicly bans popular ´Takataka´ song terming it of obscene content

KFCB CEO, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua now bans 4-month old viral, ´Takataka´ song of its derogatory remarks to the female gender.

Reasons

During a press conference held at the Board offices in Nairobi on Tuesday, Dr Ezekiel Mutua addresses:

The song ´Takataka´ is characterized by crude language that objectifies women and glorifies hurting them as normal reaction to rejection of overtures by men.

On his Twitter page, Dr Ezekiel Mutua reveals that the viral anthem ´Takataka´ was unfortunately not submitted to the KFCB for examination and classification.

It therefore contravenes Section 12 (2) of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 2222.

Be Warned!

The firm media ethics´ disciplinarian adds that:

Broadcasting, exhibition, distribution [including online] or possession of the song ´Takataka´ by Alvin aka Alvindo is a criminal offense.

Additionally, he has forewarned that the viral song ought NOT be performed live or broadcast anywhere within the Kenyan boundaries.

No DJ should play the song either on broadcast station or in entertainment joints.

According to the learned KFCB boss, the lyrics in the song are primitive, abuse our sensibilities and should therefore not be a call for celebration by anyone whosoever.

Dr Ezekiel Mutua further adds:

This song and such other obscene content should be rejected by members of a self-respecting society.

The well conversant stickler in the field of media believes that such examples of music content might be the catalyzers to the recent crude spousal deaths.

In the song, the rapper strongly condemns his ´ex-lover´ to death indicating he would actually attend her funeral, just to please his emotions.

According to Dr E. Mutua, these artistes are out to make nothing but money.

The ethics and impact the content has to society is not a priority to artists of today:

Some of the artistes sing such music to sound controversial and gain following upon which they make money.

Background

´Takataka´ is a song by Alvin alias Alvindo, its producer being the FastCash Music Group.

The song has garnered well over 1 M plus on You Tube.

KFCB now calls upon Alvin, given a fortnight to appear before the board otherwise, legal action will be taken.

The viral song released early in the year, took the board 4 months due to scrupulous and legal processes as stipulated in the Law.

The artist however now risks getting barred from being a member of the 3 Content Management Organizations (CMOs) in Kenya.

The media ethics Chief whip further urges artistes and media institutions to promote music that builds moral responsibility and not contrary to that.

¨Let the church be,¨ Ezekiel Mutua responds to Linus Kaikai´s argument on church regulation

The Commentary by Citizen TV journalist Linus Kaikai that pastors should have a degree in theology is also misplaced.

Preaching is principally a calling, but one can deepen it by studying theology.

Not the other way round.

Dr Ezekiel Mutua, MBS on facebook

This is after the Citizen TV journalist cited that Kenyan preachers are misleading their Christians.

Linus Kaikai referred to the men of God as spiritual fraudsters and con men, in one of his TV appearances.

Linus stated that they ought to be regulated and must acquire degrees.

However, KFCB chief executive, Dr Ezekiel Mutua did not concur with Linus´ thoughts.

According to Exekiel Mutua, right to worship was in accordance to the Kenyan Constitution 2010, and therefore let the church be.
