Diamond Reflects on Life Lessons from Celebrity Ex

Despite his reputation as a playboy with a string of high-profile relationships in Tanzania’s entertainment scene, Bongo Flava star Diamond Platnumz has revealed his most painful heartbreak.

The celebrated singer and businessman, known for leaving a trail of broken hearts, admitted that actress Jacqueline Wolper was the one who truly turned the tables on him.

A decade ago, as Diamond’s music career was taking off and Wolper was thriving in the Bongo film industry, the two were romantically involved. However, they kept their relationship under wraps, even after their breakup, leaving gossip blogs to speculate. Over the years, they reconciled and became close friends, with Diamond attending several of Wolper’s social events.

Zari Clarifies Relationship with Diamond: Purely Good Vibes

Although it has been over ten years since their romance ended, Diamond confessed that Wolper was the one who gave him a life-changing lesson in love.

“Jackline Wolper broke my heart so badly when we were together. The pain was so intense that it inspired me to write the song ‘Mawazo’ for her,” he shared in a recent interview.

The song, which features former Tanzanian model Jokate Mwegelo and socialite Hamisa Mobetto—both of whom Diamond later dated—expresses his deep love for Wolper and the heartbreak he endured when she toyed with his emotions despite his devotion.

Years later, Wolper went on to date Harmonize, who was then signed under Diamond’s WCB Wasafi label. After their breakup, Diamond and Wolper initially kept their distance, but when she got involved with Harmonize—who was close to Diamond at the time—the two rekindled their friendship.

Harmonize eventually ended things with Wolper, accusing her of attempting to revive her past romance with Diamond. He alleged that she tried to lure Diamond back with promises of giving him a son.

Zari Clarifies Relationship with Diamond: Purely Good Vibes

Zari Hassan recently addressed her relationship with Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz, emphasizing that their bond is solely centered on co-parenting.

During her visit to Kenya, Zari shared that while she and Diamond maintain a positive relationship, there is no romantic connection between them.

Zari Hassan Responds to Ebang Engonga Controversy: ‘All Men Are the Same

“We co-parent very well. Whenever we meet, it’s all good vibes, which some people mistake for chemistry. But it’s just that—we are not enemies, and we’re raising our kids together,” she stated.

This differs from how their relationship was portrayed on Young, Famous & African, where Diamond often implied that Zari still had feelings for him.

Zari also addressed her marriage to Shakib Cham, revealing that he initially had concerns about her dynamic with Diamond. These concerns were heightened when Diamond suggested on the reality show that Zari wanted more children with him—a claim she strongly denied.

While Shakib was initially wary, Zari said he later came to trust her intentions.

“My husband had issues with my closeness to Diamond because the vibe can sometimes be misinterpreted. But as a married woman, I now understand the importance of respecting my husband and our marriage,” she explained.

Diamond Platnumz has made a sensational admission, he can get back Zari if he wanted to but he doesn’t have the desire to get his family back together.
The sensational assertion was made while he was filming her reality show and was asked whether he is envious of her current husband, Shakib Lutaaya.

Diamond’s Attempt to Reconcile with Zuchu (Full Details)

During a recent club performance, Diamond Platnumz made an emotional gesture, adding a personal touch to Marlow’s song Pii Pii. As the crowd cheered, he sang, “Move out the way! Nimechoka kupoteza time. Nina siku nyingi kwenda home! I’m missing my Zuchu!” Watch the clip here:

However, during the show, Diamond referred to Zuchu merely as an “artiste” signed to his Wasafi Records label, sparking outrage among fans who found the comment disrespectful.

Fan Reactions

Social media erupted with mixed reactions to Diamond’s behavior, with some questioning the sincerity of his apology and others accusing him of calculated theatrics.

  • @Kendi_PN: “Diamond learnt English and became a big nuisance. Zuchu needs to stand up for herself because this man is a demon!”
  • @svnaasays: “The way Diamond denies Zuchu 😭 even Satan wouldn’t deny you like that.”
  • @amearyPearl: “Once again, Diamond doesn’t rate Zuchu at all. Imagine three seasons of disrespect. She’s dating herself!”

Many fans sympathized with Zuchu, criticizing Diamond for his recurring pattern of disrespecting women. Others speculated that the drama could be a publicity stunt to promote the latest season of Young, Famous & African.

Diamond’s Reality TV Persona

The controversy partly stems from Diamond’s portrayal in Young, Famous & African, where he embraced the persona of a carefree flirt. In a recent episode, he openly flirted with cast member Fantana while dismissing Zuchu as “just my artiste.”

When Fantana asked, “Is she your artiste or your girlfriend?” Diamond casually responded, “She’s my artiste. You mean Zuchu, right?” This remark sparked further backlash, with fans accusing him of minimizing Zuchu’s role in his life.

In his defense, Diamond later clarified that the show is scripted: “The show is like a play or a movie. My character is a notorious flirt, and that’s all it is.”

Zuchu’s Response

Zuchu didn’t take the public humiliation lightly. She announced her intention to sue Wasafi Media, alleging that their content aimed to tarnish her reputation.

Addressing the ongoing narrative on Instagram, she stated:
“I have no interest in marrying Nasibu [Diamond], and I’m not forcing him into it. He’s free to go wherever he feels happy. Stop dragging my name into every story about him.”

Zuchu also criticized the relentless scrutiny she faces:
“Every time Nasibu is seen with another woman, the entire world stops to attack me. Let me make this clear: I’m not clinging to him. If anyone thinks it’s that easy, let them try!”

Their on-and-off relationship lasted over five years before ending in 2014 when Diamond began a relationship with Ugandan-South African socialite Zari Hassan. He further noted that he does not engage in disputes with fellow artists or negotiate for stage time, underscoring his disciplined approach to his music career.

Diamond also responded to claims by Kenyan artist Willy Paul, who alleged that Diamond’s management prevented him from performing at the festival. Dismissing the accusations, Diamond called them baseless and an attempt to attract attention.

“It would be foolish for me to do that—how does it even make sense? I was the headlining act, meaning all other artists were to perform before me, and I would close the show. Willy Paul is just fabricating stories for clout because he’s still chasing fame,” Diamond remarked.

Despite an exciting lineup of Kenyan artists like Femi One, Mejja, Willy Paul, and Khaligraph Jones, the event was overshadowed by backstage conflicts and unrest among the crowd.

Diamond’s manager, Jorge Mendez (Sallam SK), explained that the singer’s decision to skip the performance stemmed from security concerns. Bongo Flava sensation Diamond Platnumz has revealed that his hit remix of Komasava, featuring American pop and R&B star Jason Derulo, was initially dismissed as “trash” by Warner Music Group (WMG), one of the world’s largest record labels.

Released four months ago, the song has become a massive success, racking up over 31 million views on YouTube and dominating trending charts in Kenya and Tanzania for an entire week after its release on July 26. On Spotify, the track has surpassed 8.2 million streams.

“I have a song, Komasava, that is now a global hit. When I submitted it to my distributor, Warner, they turned it down, calling it trash. They didn’t want to take it,” Diamond shared in an interview with Deutsche Welle (DW).

As part of his contract, Diamond is required to submit certain tracks to Warner for distribution. Confident in the song’s potential, he was surprised by their reaction.

“When they rejected the song, I went home and listened to it again. I thought, ‘Why don’t they understand this? This is a hit.’ So, I decided to release it myself,” he explained.

“Abdukiba and Mbosso have been friends for a long time, even before Mbosso joined Wasafi. I support all my artists’ projects, as good work brings success for everyone, including me,” he stated.

Despite admitting to managing husband Shakib’s insecurities, Zari entertains Diamond Platnumz again

Diamond Platnumz is clearly not allowing his ex-girlfriend’s personal life to interfere with his relationship with their children. The Bongo star recently visited Zari Hassan’s home to celebrate their daughter Tiffah’s birthday, despite the potential tension it could create.

This visit comes just a week after his previous one, which reportedly caused friction between Zari and her husband, Shakib. In a detailed video, Zari shared that Shakib has been accusing her of entertaining her ex, forgetting that co-parenting requires some level of interaction.

Despite being aware of Shakib’s insecurities, Diamond still attended his daughter’s birthday, which sparked online chatter about his indifference to the situation. He even posted photos and videos from the party, asserting his role in his children’s lives.

Shakib, on the other hand, has remained silent about Diamond’s latest visit, likely to avoid further drama. However, given his reputation as an insecure partner, it’s fair to assume that the visit didn’t sit well with him. But then again, he knew what he was getting into when he married Zari.

Netizens, however, seem to sympathize with Shakib, considering his relatively young age and limited relationship experience compared to Zari.

Addressing the issue of losing his staff, Diamond expressed that he harbors no resentment, viewing it as a sign of growth for those individuals.

Diamond Platnumz Claims He Gets More Money From His Businesses Than His Music

Diamond Platnumz revealed that his business ventures bring him more financial success than his music career.

“Financial gain alone wouldn’t keep me in music,” he said. “For true growth, I needed to expand my horizons.”

Diamond is a successful entrepreneur. He owns Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB), a record label that has nurtured talents like Zuchu, Mbosso, Lava Lava, DVoice, and Queen Darleen. Previously, WCB included Harmonize, Rayvanny, and Rich Mavoko before they moved on.

Being among the best artists in East Africa, Diamond has been in several shows across Africa. He scoops money from shows and events, but this doesn’t seem to match his businesses.
