When you here ‘Wondering’ David, what comes to your mind? David Junior Odera is his official name. He is a Kenyan gospel artist. What you didn’t know is that this guy was natured by Bahati. Did I say Bahati? Ooh! yes I did.
His is a journey that has come from far, low self-esteem, struggling to rise musically and here comes a saviour in the name of Bahati. In an interview with Buzz Magazine, he says that when he was venting to Bahati, he told him that he is a product of God’s wonders.
People come from far and David is not an exception. He started practicing his music career long ago. Him and his friends formed a band that always performed in Our Spirit of Faith Pentecostal church in Baba Dogo and in other small gigs.
He started pursuing his music career immediately after high school. Well, this was at quit a young age.
David Wonder as a beautician?
You won’t believe this, but this guy has worked as a beautician. For sure Nairobi ni Shamba la mawe nothing comes easy. This is after he come from his dad’s village in Awendo, Migori county. He worked for long hours in the salon every day.
But in June 2015, he started his journey of contacting Bahati who owns EMB records. Yes, this is where he was embraced. Although he was able to get into contact with Bahati, he says it didn’t come easy.
Music Career
David Wonder has had a home at EMB records where he did a couple of songs. He has been in the industry for some time now. Wonders is now working with Safri Records. He has grown so much that he can now concentrate on his gospel career. Also, did the song Ndogo ndogo in 2017 together with Bahati. The song went viral and boom! Ndogo ndogo was his first jam.

He has done other jams from then and he has been doing well. Some of his songs include; Mgani, washangaze and msalaba. Wonder has also done collaborations like; Asifiwe with Mr.Seed, Nipende with Bahati and many others.
Wonders ditched EMB earlier this year and this is a house that built him. Anyway, lets not dwell on the past, Wonder is doing wonders out here. I must say this that this guy is talented and all he needs to do is just put more effort.
The gospel industry is not for the faint hearts. He is good at what he does and am sure he will go far. Lets support this small boys in the industry.
