Companies from betting industry send strong message of humanity during pandemic

It sometimes seems that foreign companies that pay nearly KSh 6 billion annually the government through fiscal and parafiscal charges and provide job for 55.000 people are not welcome in Kenya.

The corona virus pandemic is a strong blow to the global economy, to which almost no branch of the economy is resistant, but what is encouraging are the positive examples and measures that foreign companies in Kenya are introducing with a primary focus on the health and well-being of their employees and their families.

Companies in the gaming industry have recorded big drop in profit, but employees do not have to worry about financial stability, because their jobs are secure, and salaries are paid regularly. This policy, attitude and approach should be an example of behavior, especially in times of crisis, because the actions taken during a pandemic send a strong message of humanity and togetherness.

Instead, individuals are calling for the destruction of what maintains Kenya’s economic stability and labor market, even in times of crisis. It sometimes seems that companies that pay nearly KSh 6 billion annually the government through fiscal and parafiscal charges and have supported the community with continuous health donations during the coronavirus pandemic are not welcome in Kenya, even though they provide job for 55.000 people.

Foreign gaming investors provide the stability of the economy with their business and it is very unfair that some influential people are trying to eliminate competition and take over business in by creating unprofessional fake scandals in media. This creates a hostile environment for all foreign investors and it will definitely have a ripple effect on the economy as more investors are pushed away.

Companies from this industry are also big donors of Kenyan sports and generally have a great impact on the community, and they especially stood out with donations for hospitals during the corona virus pandemic.

Candidate charged with treason after writing plan to kill Uhuru and Duale in KCSE paper

A KCSE candidate has been arrested after his English paper one on functional skills had him narrating how he’d kill President Uhuru Kenyatta and Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.

The student, who sat his examination at Elimu Bora Secondary School in Mandera town, will be presented to the court on today.

The message was discovered by Kenya National Examinations Council officials in Nairobi as they were arranging the papers for marking.

They tracked the candidate using his registration number and was immediately arrested.

The magistrate directed that the accused should be taken to the county hospital for a mental and age assessment with the case set to be mentioned on Monday.

Marking of the KCSE exam papers is expected to start on December 7 and end by December 18.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, CS Amina Mohammed, Interior counterpart Fred Matiang’i and a section of Kenyans were recently angered by a clip of Ambira High School insulting the government officials after clearing their KSCE exam.

The students were later arrested and thrown in jail for their actions, and as a warning from the government to future candidates.

Nothing new

Apparently, this kind of behavior is not new and has been happening a lot, only that it has never been caught on tape.

Different entertainers spoke to SDE and opened up on some of the crazy things they did after KCSE and it’s just unbelievable.

Here’s what they said:

Dr Ofweneke, comedian

“Burning of books was a planned ritual, I remember we burnt books and after we were done we got the school’s pig in the agriculture section and we also roasted and ate it.”  

We only torched exercise books – Prof Hamo, comedian

“Academic fire was not a big deal. We burnt books but ours wasn’t that elaborated because it was only exercise books plus it was a day school so I burned mine with close pals. After dealing with eight subjects, it was time to be done with high school.”

We planned to beat hated teacher – Mc Antonio

“My classmates planned to beat the most hated teacher but the head teacher got wind of it and called the police the night before we went home. We were beaten and instructed to come with our parents when clearing.”

We had dinner with principal – Jemutai, comedian

“We wanted to have the academic bonfire but our principal refused and told us to reserve the books for the next generation of students so we had dinner with him the evening before we left for home.”

We climbed Mt Kenya – Cynthia Njuguna, businesswoman

“Just before we sat our final exams at Mt Kenya Senior School, we went for a trip to climb Mt Kenya and create lasting memories.

We played against teachers – Irene Wanja, marketing manager

“At Greensteads International School, we had dinner just before I did my O and A levels exams. We also had a sports day where teachers played against the students. We signed our friend’s T-shirts and while some students burned their book and uniforms in secret.”

Matiang’i finally issues statement on plumb officer Kenyans have been trolling online

Kenyans on social media had a lot to say after a photo of Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and a plump officer hit the internet. Kenyans were quick to troll the Homa Bay chief with many claiming he needs to work out.

Matiangi’s ministry has now issued a statement to save the chief from the trolls, saying that unnamed official was suffering from a genetic disorder.

Communication Director at the Interior and Co-ordination Ministry, Njoka Mwenda, said that the chief has been seeking medical attention to help him lose weight but it has not helped. She urged Kenyans to stop mocking him.

“The Chief in Homa Bay suffers from a rare genetic disease and has tried all sorts of treatment to no avail. Its callous and inhuman to accuse him of being corrupt by virtue of genetic illness,” Njoka said in his statement.

Nyakundi to be released on a Ksh 500,000 bond after posting defamatory information against CS Fred Matiang’i

‘Boy child president’ Cyprian Nyakundi has found himself in trouble after sharing a tweet that was negatively describing CS Matiangi.

This saw the blogger arraigned  and charged at Milimani law court yesterday. However this is not the first time he is pulling such a stunt; but sadly he poked the wrong person.

According to reports, he refused to attend court on Monday as order by the chief magistrate. But, on Tuesday he was arrested and was charged with posting defamatory information against the CS Matiangi by the chief magistrate senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku

Denies being responsible

Nyakundi on the other hand denied being responsible for the tweet.

Even with this he was released on police bond of Ksh 500,000 which has left many talking on social media.

Others went on to ask him to release a pay bill number where they would help raise the amount. Anyway, I bet this is just for fan as no one is willing to part with their money especially judging from how hard January was.
