Former Kleptomaniax member Collo hints at the possibility of Nyashinski joining the gospel industry

Back in the day Kleptomaniax was the it pop group. I mean, they not only came through with the baggy drip; but also with good music that has kept the Kenyan music industry afloat.

Tbt:Pop group, Kleptomaniax

I understand the group, Kleptomaniax was formed back in 1999 but was dissolved around 2007; due to unknown reasons but since then, the group members moved on and became husbands and dads.

One in particular is Collo who is currently using his talent; to spread the gospel now that he is a changed man. In 2016, Collo announced to have quit the secular music industry as he was now a saved man. For a minute – some fans felt this was a joke until Collins Majale dropped drinking and partying like before.

Kleptomaniax

Nyashinski following into Collo’s footsteps

Thanks to a new interview Collo recently held with Mseto East Africa’s Willy M Tuva – we have reason to believe that his brothers (Kleptomaniax) could be following into his footsteps.

This is after Collo hinted that there is a high possibility of Nyanshinski getting saved; or rather, the Mungu Pekee hit maker already got saved but opted not to mention it to the public.

Nyashinki

Speaking to Mzazi Willy M Tuva, Collo weighed in on the possibility of Nyashinski’s following into his footsteps saying;

According to Collo, the Christian religion is not a new thing to Nyanshinki; who turns out to be a preachers son.

Nyashinski knows cause he is a preachers son of course an acknowledge Christ is lord; na perphaps ameokoka ni vile hajacome public

Justifying his prediction about Nyashinski’s Faith, the fella said;

Remember niliokoka 2014 towards the end but nilicome public in 2016

Well, if this is true – then I guess fans should be looking forward to seeing more gospel songs from Nyashinski; but until then – we are open to any new music from Nyashinski. It’s been a minute, right?

Collo makes comeback with touching gospel tune ‘Conqueror’ (Video)

Rapper Collins Majale, popularly known as Collo and formerly of Kleptomaniax rap group alongside Nyashinski and Roba, has released another gospel jam and it’s totally worth your time.

The track titled Conqueror talk about the power that God has given us to overcome all the trials and temptations that we might face in our lives.

Collo

In the song, Collo says that when God is on your side no one can be against you, adding that believers must be strong so that they are not deceived easily.

I totally love this jam. Other than the powerful message that it carries, after listening to it, I know you will agree with me that it is well-arranged.

Collo’s flow is still dope. You;ll be so hooked to his wordplay that you might not even notice that this jam neither has a hook nor a chorus yet it still flows.

Of course my favourite line was where said, “Kwa sanaa me ni GOAT though kondoo in christ” I loved the line where he says, “Born sinner, born again winner.” This jam is just bars after bars.

Collo

I loved that the beat and instrumentation on this jam are subtle because they allow you to enjoy his flow and scratch your head as you try to make sense of it all. Notably, the video was also simple but on point.

“It’s pointless to have 100% Kenyan music played yet you’re not getting paid” Rapper Collo sends hard-hitting message to Kenyan artistes

Gospel rapper Collins Majale popularly known as Collo has come out to fault Kenyan artistes who are demanding 100% airplay.

The rapper says Kenyan musicians have failed to work together to better the Kenyan music, he explains that artistes stand to benefit more if they come together and push their music in alternative platforms rather than demanding 100% TV and radio airplay which is unrealistic.

“The Media Mountain including most (if not all) broadcast stations are owned and controlled by politicians who have no interest at all in empowering artists, especially for an existing majority of musicians who lack character. The peculiar patterns of seeing radio presenters, journalist including other members of the 4th Estate desiring to be the ones walking the red carpet in events also amazes me but Nairobi has also taught me a valuable lesson, “game ni game”… All what is happening to our Kenyan artists in my opinion is of our own doing & failing to present a solution hence, we’re ‘bird boxed’ with no divine wisdom to understand the true meaning of team work. For example, is it ever possible for your Top 10 or even 5 artists to come together in their own accord for a common goal with regards to alternative platforms and avenues or is it the same old pattern of ‘mi nimnoma kkuliko’? There’s no industry here but an entertainment scene full of hedonistic and narcissistic talents who need to meet faith! Never chase success… attract it by knowing who you are!,” wrote Collo.

Fame without money

Collo further says that it’s pointless to have 100% Kenyan music played yet this does not translate to artistes getting paid. He also says presenters and DJs shouldn’t be blamed for content that goes on air, but rather media owners.

“My fellow Kenyan artists. It’s pointless to have 100% Kenyan music played yet you’re not getting paid. No wonder most settle for fame which without money, means 0 influence. Cherry on the top is wisdom for positive impact. Take your current situation as a blessing in disguise & quit blaming your presenters or djs. If there’s anyone who you need to question is the program director of the stations who in any case are still employed by the very same politicians who care less of your policies yet in reality you are meant to be funding their campaigns.”

Photos of young Collo before he met his wife

Singer Collo recently shared photos from back in the day to show how young he looked. The photos taken about 10 years brought fresh memories to those who loved keeping up with local music from back in the day.

Collo throws his weight behind Sauti Sol in controversial post calling Kenyans fools

Sauti Sol rubbed Kenyans the wrong way with a controversial post on social media. Gospel rapper Collo has since supported Sauti Sol in their assertion.

Sauti Sol sensationally claimed ‘Tibim’, ‘Tialala’ and ‘Tano Tena’ were empty political slogans. The quartet further stated that most Kenyans were uneducated fools who kissed politicians’ asses.

Their sentiments irked majority of Kenyans on social media. Both Nasa and Jubilee supporters and even homophobes joined forces in trolling Sauti Sol.

Collo defends Sauti Sol

Gospel rapper Collo has however supported Sauti Sol’s statement. The ‘Bazokizo’ hit maker stated that Kenyans don’t like anyone of their own sharing the truth. The rapper further stated that Sauti Sol ought to have finished their statement by saying Jesus is the way.

“The Entertainment Mountain & creative industry should Ideally be funding politicians like in the U.S.A including other civilized nations. Here in Kenya the Government mountain has been used by some individuals to oppress all the other mountains hence we hear the weird but commom phrase “tunaomba serekali”… what happened to TUNAOMBA MUNGU??? Do some research about the spheres of influence and you’ll agree with me when I say, I understand where @sautisol are coming from & concerned with how Kenyans don’t like anyone of their own sharing the truth. Infact, ingefaa wamalize kwa kusema FOM NI YESU!” Wrote Collo.

Collo’s wife: My father didn’t approve of my marriage to Collo, he wasn’t convinced Collo deserved me

Collo walked down the aisle with the love of his life Phoebe Ida Ayaya-Majale on August 13th 2016. Before their wedding the two lovebirds were cohabiting, that chapter of their lives was the hardest.

Phoebe opened up about their relationship in an interview with Parents Magazine, she spoke about their tribulations and redemption.

Mrs Majale revealed that at one point she was forced to dump her husband while they were still cohabiting, she was embroiled in unending arguments with her husband over Collo’s lifestyle. Phoebe said that her father was more than happy when she left Collo and went back to stay at her parent’s house.

“He (Phoebe’s father) wasn’t exactly Collo’s fan. He was also not convinced Collo deserved his daughter – an advocate of the High Court of Kenya!” Phoebe said.

Phoebe explained that she went back to her matrimonial home after constant nagging from her daughter Tawala who wanted her father back. She however lived with her husband like strangers and didn’t talk to each other for weeks.

Disaster struck Collo and Phoebe just when she managed to convince her husband to go to church. Everything went south after Collo was fired from his job for losing company laptop.

“Before then, we had never had a problem with money. We had everything and extras, including the money! In a flash it was gone and we found ourselves in debt… We couldn’t hide from each other because we were all we had. We were stripped before each other. None of our friends and family members knew how deep our situation was,” Phoeba explained the financial crisis they were in.

They finally managed to recover from the financial crisis and even went on to officiate their union with a colorful wedding in August 2016.

“Seeing the man he has now become is one of the reasons I judge God faithful,” said Phoebe.
