Ciru Muriuki recalls her partner

Ouda’s fiancée, Ciru Muriuki, who’s former BBC journalist, posted a heartfelt tribute on social media that perfectly captured her grief and reiterated the impact Ouda had on her life, as she had spoken during his burial ceremony.

“One month without you. One month of pain I didn’t think I could endure. You were my hello and my hardest goodbye. But there can be no goodbye between us. Just the longing to see you again. May my life be forever. Better because you were in it. I love you Ceej. Forever and always,” Ciru said.

Muriuki mourned her partner in an emotional message a month ago, claiming she has never been loved the way Ouda loved her. In her 42 years, she claims Ouda gave him a love she never experienced before. And her love for him was impeccable

Ciru Muriuki requests financial assistance to provide a fitting farewell for fiancé Ouda

Media personality Ciru Muriuki is reaching out for financial support to give her fiancé, actor Charles Ouda, a respectable farewell. On Wednesday, the former BBC journalist shared a poster outlining how fans and celebrities can contribute to Charlie’s burial expenses. The poster, adorned in all black with gold and white accents, features a cheerful Charlie with his hand resting on his forehead, seemingly amused by something that made him burst into laughter.

“In loving memory of Charlie… Honoring the legacy! Join us in providing a dignified farewell for a cherished legend,” reads part of the post. Digital content creator and actress Foi Wambui, scriptwriter, movie producer, and director Abel Mutua, and emerging actor Kabugi are among the creatives who have shared Charlie’s fundraising poster.

Foi urged netizens to contribute whatever they could, acknowledging that funerals can be costly. “Funerals are hella expensive, and we really MUST give Charles a beautiful send-off. Please help the family by sending whatever contribution you can to the paybill number,” Foi wrote on her Instagram stories. She expressed disbelief, stating that everything still felt surreal, and she was struggling to accept the reality of her friend’s departure.

Abel, while sharing the post, said a prayer for Charles, trusting that the actor would journey well into the afterlife and find peace. Friends and fans have been offering words of encouragement and virtual hugs to Ciru since she posted the appeal, consoling her as she grapples with the loss of her fiancé.

Homicide investigators have taken over the investigation into the sudden passing of actor Charles Ouda. A team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters visited the scene in Westlands, Nairobi, as part of the ongoing inquiry. While the cause of death remains undisclosed, there are speculations, including possible suicide, being explored. The circumstances surrounding the incident have prompted the involvement of the homicide team in the investigation.

Charles Ouda, known for his roles in popular shows like “Makutano Junction,” “Junction Junior,” “Second Family,” and “Salem,” appeared to be in good spirits on the last day he was seen alive. According to acquaintances, he had no known illnesses. He was last spotted attending a party for the cast of Maisha Magic’s ‘Salem Show.’ The family of Charles ‘Charlie’ J. Ouda and Ciru Muriuki announced his passing on Sunday, revealing that he was 38 years old at the time of his death.

Ciru Muriuki Opens Up About Being Laid Off From BBC

Ciru Muriuki, a well-known media personality, has finally spoken out about being laid off from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

In a post on her social media, Muriuki acknowledged that she was among the employees who were affected by a recent round of layoffs at the international media company.

“I was laid off, or in other words, I was retrenched,” Muriuki said. “I had been working at this large international media company for five years, and last year they informed the entire staff that they wanted to change direction and take a digital-first approach. As a result, some roles would be made redundant. I am currently an underemployed journalist.”

Muriuki went on to say that she was “shocked and disappointed” by the news, but that she was “determined to move on” and “find a new opportunity.”

“I am grateful for the five years I spent at the BBC,” she said. “I learned a lot and met some amazing people. I am now looking forward to the next chapter in my career.”

Muriuki’s layoff is just one example of the many job losses that have been happening in the media industry in recent years. As the industry continues to shift towards digital, many traditional media companies have been forced to lay off staff in order to save money.

Muriuki’s story is a reminder of the challenges that journalists are facing in today’s ever-changing media landscape. However, it is also a story of resilience and determination. Muriuki is a talented journalist, and I am confident that she will find a new opportunity where she can continue to use her skills and talents.

“Where would I hide my face” Media personality Ciru Muiruri weighs in on the Karen Nyamu and Samidoh scandal

The Swahili people say adui wa mwanamke ni mwanamke mwenzake; and in this case I guess the proverb best describes both Karen Nyamu and now – Ciru Muiruki.

While other celebrities remain silent about this issue, the BBC journalist couldn’t hold back; as she went on to mock Karen Nyamu for being too clingy on Samidoh. But again, I mean wouldn’t any other do the same especially if a child is involved?

Anyway judging from the post made by Ciru – I can assure you that it aimed at embarrassing Ms Nyamu; and it did as Ciru wrote;

Heh. Imagine me running all over social media calling a married son Jeroboam “babe” and he refers to me as “Ms Ciru Muriuki.” Where would I hide my face?

Samidoh picks wife over baby mama

By now many are aware of the ongoing drama surrounding the Mugithii singer; but judging from how Samidoh handled this – we cannot help but feel sorry for Ms Nyamu.

Being rejected in front of millions of fans must have stung like a bee; but since she will finally about the drama on Jalang’o TV – we cannot wait to hear what she has to say.

Popular Kenyan actresses, Jacky Vike, Sarah Hassan, Shix Kapienga and Serah Teshna could not help but gush over the younger-looking Ciru Muriuki and her courage to embrace change even when it meant getting uncomfortable.

However, for those that felt sorry that the locs they always envied were now history, it was time to mourn.

Over the weekend, the BBC journalist took to the gram to showcase as her dreadlocks were getting chopped off at the barbers. The new move comes barely a month after she lost the man she treasured most in her life, her dad.

Ciku Muiruri slams Ciru Muriuki for being a cry baby and using her name for attention

Former radio presenter Ciku Muiruri has attacked Ciru Muriuki for always seeking attention using her name which she can easily avoid.

The Busted host took to social media to post a long post attacking Ciru after fans confused the two yet again raining attacks on Ciru instead of her.

According to the veteran presenter, Ciru could have avoided all this but because she’s always after attention, she keeps encouraging it.

“I did my first radio show in 1998. In my many, many, many, years on radio doing Busted etc I have used my name. On my newspaper columns, I have used my name. On my book #LoveisButADream and all my social media pages, I have used my name. Someone comes onto the scene many, many, many years later, has and uses a name similar to mine and now cries victim every time she is mistaken for me,” she said.

Crying

She went on to add that even after being asked to change her name, Ciru went on to use it.

A boss of ours – Pete Sinclair – actually refused her to use the name during her stint at Radio Africa and said she would be mistaken for me. She had no choice but to listen to him and use her English name. All was well. But alas, she then went on to join NTV where she disregarded his advice and went on use the name. Enter the case of mistaken identity that follows until this very day. And now, I am supposedly the bad guy because I need to watch what I tweet for her sake. Wait, what?
A friend of hers actually went on a morning TV show and said my ‘bad manners’ (??) are affecting her. What the actual hell? That’s the final straw for me. I refuse to be used as a punching bag when you found me here, minding my own business.
If you want your brand to stand out, the first logical step is NOT to ride on someone else’s name and then cry foul when it no longer suits you.

Read Ciru Muriuki´s words of comfort to Ivy Wangechi´s grieving mother

Parents to prospective deceased medical student, Ivy Wangechi bravely spoke out in the media, holding their young daughter´s name high.

Multiple comments on various media channels have seen the parents, close family and friends, bittered by their shaming remarks in concern to the daughter.

However, the time had come to silence off all these critics and family, classmates even neighbors have come out strong to put the disheartening remarks to rest.

The mother to the first born daughter categorically articulated:

It is with a lot of regret that I have learnt of an Ivy that only exists in the world of social media. That must be another Ivy, not my daughter.

I want to make it clear that the Ivy the bloggers are talking about and trying to portray in a bad light in social media is not the same one we knew.

The Ivy we knew was God-fearing, disciplined and one who did not depend on or have sponsors.

Speaking on Sunday from their home in Thika, she further dismissed rumors of her daughters HIV health state.

Momentum

Additionally, media personality, Ciru Muriuki penned an open letter to the pain-stricken mother reading:

In this Holy Week, your daughter will be laid to rest. You have had to endure her being killed, twice. First, by the seemingly senseless slaying and the second time by bloggers and even radio presenters – Specifically Didge on Homeboyz radio – Who made jokes about her death and alluded to her deserving what she got. And Jalango who wrote a lengthy post on Instagram about women not accepting gifts from men without being ready to deal with the consequences.

The BBC Journalist consoles the grieving mother, citing further local examples:

You have had to endure lies being spread about the apple of your eye. Everything from infecting this disturbed young man (that she never even dated) with HIV, to her being a money-grabbing slut. Yes, they have killed your angel twice.

Today, there are reports of a 24-year-old woman in Nyaribo that has been stabbed and killed by her alleged ex-boyfriend. Another man who stabbed his wife 17 times in Mathira has given himself up to police. Hot on the heels of another stabbing in Pwani University where yet another girl fights for her life. Naomi Chepkemboi’s crime was to send back money to a man whose attention she did not want. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Ciru Muriuki explains that she does relate with Ivy´s mother and stands strong with her during such trying times:

Mama Wangechi, I’m a mum too. I too have a young, beautiful daughter. She is graduating from University in July, her life ahead of her. I can relate to the horror of what you must be going through.

So I will try and hold your hand with my words, with the hope that they will give you just a small piece of comfort. This weekend, I saw a post questioning why God killed innocent Egyptian kids over Passover and saved the ‘right’ kids from death.

The meme is sarcastic and alludes to God willing evil by punishing innocent children. I’m sure such thoughts may have crossed your mind. Why Ivy? Why a doctor? Why a God fearing girl? Why a girl so beautiful? Why a life so blessed?

Additionally, the letter continues:

People die in churches worshipping. They die in floods, they die from crazed gunmen. And yes, from an axe wielding mad man. God’s choice to no longer will a person to live, is not to will evil. We must ALL die. But it’s never senseless. He gave up His only son to die. We will bury Him this Friday. And look what His death did for the world. Remember when Jesus cured a blind man in the Gospel of John? The disciples wondered whose sin had caused the man’s blindness, his own or his parents. “Neither,” Jesus answered. “Rather, he was made blind that the works of God might be revealed in him.”

Ciru Muriuki´s further revelation from the Bible:

Those kids in Egypt were also chosen – that the works of God might be revealed in their deaths. We all have a role in this life, whether it is clear to us or not. So did Ivy. Yes, she needed to be a doctor. God fearing. Beautiful. A wonderful soul with a life so blessed.

She needed to be all these things so that we can now SEE the girl in Pwani. So we can SEE the woman in Nyeri. These headlines are not new. But Ivy struck a chord in us all so deep, that we now SEE the other women.

It may not seem like it now, but be sure your daughter did not die in vain. Because of her, we now SEE that mental health issues are REAL and must be taken more seriously. Because of her violence against women and blaming the victim will NOT be tolerated.

The Journalist´s closing remarks, making reference to the lessons Ivy Wangechi has left behind:

Didge is serving a suspension from his job because of it. Jalang’o saw the error of his ways and deleted his post. Because of Ivy, we know that not everything you read on the Internet is true. Anyone can do it. Even you. Start a blog right now. Write anything you want. It will be on the Internet.

That does not make what you write true. Because of your daughter people will begin to question what they read. They will look at the source. They will wait for a credible media house with the proper facts before they murder another person again with their words. Like they did to your daughter.

Yes, as you lay your precious Ivy to rest, know that it was not in vain. Hundreds of other girls will live because she died. Thanks mum for your amazing daughter. She was chosen that the works of God might be revealed through her. #RIPIVYWANGECHI

May Ivy´s soul find eternal rest.

Njambi Koikai, Ciru Muriuki breathe fire on KNH CEO Lily Koros

Njambi Koikai and Ciru Muriuki are up in arms about the shocking incidents at Kenya National Hospital (KNH). The two ladies have expressed their anger and frustrations with KNH CEO Lilly Koros.

KNH is what US president Donald Trump would describe as a shithole. The hospital was put on the spot after  women claimed they are sexually assaulted when they go to breastfeed their babies.

There were reports that mortuary attendants at KNH prey on women at maternity ward. The revelation sparked uproar among female MPs and Kenyans at large.

How does Koros still has a job?
Lilly Koros

Njambi Koikai and Ciru Muriuki have voiced their frustrations with Lily Koros. The KNH CEO denies male staffers prey on mothers who go to breastfeed their babies.

“So. The CEO of KNH, a WOMAN, actually said that the stories of women being raped on the way to feed their babies are false…BECAUSE NO ONE REPORTED THEM IN THE SUGGESTION BOXES. And she still has a job. Let’s not even get into how stupid it is to have the maternity ward so far away from the nursery.

“Please note, this is the same hospital where patients were murdered in their beds. No one has been apprehended, no one has lost their job. #Shithole,” Ciru Muriuki ranted.

“Watching Koros on Citizen Tv….and I’m thinking why the hell is this woman still in office feeding us hogwash???
I’ll tell you how i lost a friend and some relatives in that Kenyatta National Hospital.

“This woman needs to go home. The management ought to be disbanded. She’s making this worse by defending herself. Btw she’s said there’s nothing she can do about the mothers on 3rd floor. So our mothers will continue crawling from 3rd floor to ground floor with their stitches and wounds,” Njambi Koikai lamented.

“Vic was the kind of guy who could be brought to tears by a song” Ciru Muriuki mourns the death of her ex boyfriend

Ciru Muriuki has lost her ex boyfriend who was a presenter at 2 FM. Jeremy Odhiambo popularly known as Saliva Vic didn’t make it to 2018.

Saliva Vic died mysteriously on the night of December 31st 2017. The deceased’s lifeless body was found in his house barely hours to the new year.

We had an ill-advised romance

Former Trend panelist Ciru Muriuki eulogized Saliva Vic in a heartfelt tribute. The K24 presenter reveals she briefly dated the deceased before they both realized the romance was ill-advised.

“We made it to another year. Unfortunately, one of us didn’t. Saliva Vic and I met through Nick Ndeda back when we worked at Homeboyz Radio. We had an ill-advised romance, which happened when both of us were just in a terribly dark place. But after it was over, we stayed friends because Vic was just one of the most genuine people I knew,” wrote Ciru Muriuki in part.

Saliva Vic

Ciru further reveals that her ex boyfriend was such a jovial person. She explains that Saliva Vic would openly tell people uncomfortable truths about themselves.

“Vic was the kind of guy who could be brought to tears by a song he resonated with. He was the kind of guy to tell you the most uncomfortable truths about yourself. He used to say all the time “fuck your feelings”. He was open, he was smart, he was annoying as fuck, he was passionate and he was real. The last time we spoke on the phone, out of the blue, he told me how proud he was of me and that he loved me. He was a better friend to me than I was to him. The world just got a little darker. Rest well Vic. You have broken our hearts, but you’re free now. I love you,” Ciru revealed.

“I was suffering in silence” Ciru Muriuki opens up about her struggle with same disease that Njambi Koikai is suffering from

Njambi Koikai has been struggling with endometriosis for years. It turns out her former panelist on the Trend – Ciru Muriuki is also suffering from the same condition.

Endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus grows outside your uterus. Endometriosis most commonly involves your ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining your pelvis. Rarely, endometrial tissue may spread beyond pelvic organs.[sic]

Njambi Koikai has been spearheading endometriosis awareness campaign ever since she was diagnosed with the condition. She is encouraging women suffering in silence to speak about their conditions freely.

Ciru Muriuki has opened up about her struggles with endometriosis. The former Trend panelist who recently went under the knife reveals she has been suffering in silence.

“@jahmbykoikai you’re a rock star for bringing awareness to endometriosis. So many of us are suffering in silence, faced with physicians who don’t really care. I remember one who insinuated that my pelvic pain was caused by an STD. SURELY.

“Anyways, I had a laparoscopic procedure yesterday to remove a large haemorrhagic ovarian cyst. I’m a little sore, but on the mend. We need a cure. We do. #endowarrior,” wrote Ciru Muriuki.

At the time, i had no way of knowing how big the show would get. This show has opened doors beyond my wildest dreams, and I’m walking through one of those doors now. The former Trend panelist acknowledges that the show opened doors of opportunities for her. She explains that she left the Trend to walk into one of the doors that the show opened for her.

Ciru says that she will announce the next step of her journey soon. She thanked her fans for the love and support they showed her during her stint on the Trend.

The Trend family as it was formerly constituted

“Good morning! Last night, I did my final show on The Trend. It has been three crazy years. When what later became the #TTTT segment started, it was literally 10 minutes of television with me and Anto Neosoul in the Nation FM studios. At the time, i had no way of knowing how big the show would get. I gained an on air family in @larrymadowo @eddiebutita , @mamarthur @anitanderu @blessednjugush and @jahmbykoikai. This show has opened doors beyond my wildest dreams, and I’m walking through one of those doors now. I’m very excited about what the future holds and I will be sharing the next stage of my journey with you all as soon as I’m allowed to! Thank you all for your love and support and I hope you will join me for the next chapter!
As always, ? by @festolang,” Ciru wrote.

Ciru Muriuki trashes empathy for Moi Girls’ arsonist after learning planning was done on WhatsApp group over school holiday

Details have emerged of a five-member WhatsApp group extracted from the lead suspect’s phone which show Moi Girls fire was planned during the holiday.

Apparently the initial plan was to burn the dormitory on August 31, two days after students reported back to school from home.

According to the phone details, the 14-year-old Moi Girls main suspect was categorical that she intended to burn the school for a variety of reasons among them her hatred for the institution which she had been struggling to leave.

Initially some Kenyans empathized with the main suspect saying that she suffered from depression. But it now turns out that the main suspect had time to alert fellow students about the fire they started with four other suspects but instead she left them to perish.

The main suspect in Moi Girls fire

The girl had issues with the school not fellow students, she could have saved them and let the fire burn empty dormitory but she opted to let fellow students die in the fire. This clearly indicates the girl is pure evil.

The Trend panelist Ciru Muriuki who was among many people who empathized with the main suspect, was quick to trash the feelings of pity she had for the girl after she learnt of how she abandoned fellow students to die in the inferno.

“So guys. I’m struggling with something and I’m hoping you can clear this one up for me.

“Now, ever since those children died at Moi Nairobi Girls, and ever since it emerged that the suspect in question was a depressed, suicidal girl, I have felt a deep empathy for her. As you all know, I have been very open about my own struggle with depression.

“Now yesterday, the news broke that there was a whatsapp group where this act was planned, and that after the fire was lit, the girls involved alerted each other and left their fellow students asleep in a burning dormitory. When asked why they didn’t wake their counterparts, they said that it didn’t occur to them to do so.

“This is where my empathy has run out. I’m struggling here. I mean, there is such a cavalier disregard for the lives of others at play here, that even for me, someone who knows what it is like to live with a mental illness, it does not compute. I know some Kenyan schools are places where I wouldn’t even take a dog I disliked, but this here? Not caring if others live or die? I don’t understand. I’m struggling,” Ciru Muriuki wrote.
