Tinder files: Ciku Muriuki opens up about dating a married man

Former BBC reporter Ciru Muriuki recently shared her experience on Tinder, a popular dating app. She narrated her three-month stint on the platform, which led her to a date with a charming man from Burkina Faso.

Ciru was initially skeptical about his authenticity, fearing he might be “catfishing” her with false photos. However, to her surprise, the man turned out to be genuine, appearing as he did in the pictures. Unfortunately, this exciting encounter took a disappointing turn when she discovered that the man was already married.

“I was on Tinder for three months. I even went on a date with a man from Burkina Faso, he was so handsome I even thought he was catfishing me. But when we met I realized he was the same person I had seen in photos. I later came to learn that he was married,” said the journalist.

Ciru’s experience highlights the often deceiving nature of online dating, where people may use misleading information or engage in dishonest behavior. She further commented on the shamelessness of some individuals, citing instances where people even use their wedding photos as profile pictures while actively pursuing others on the platform.

“People are so shameless, someone might have his wedding photo as a profile photo na they still pursue you,” she remarked.

In a separate post, Ciru also shared her weight loss journey. She posted before and after photos of herself, showing off her impressive transformation. Ciru said that she had started her weight loss journey in early February after realizing that she had put on too much weight.

“Hey! Look at me. This wasn’t me in December. Swipe to see who I was 6 months ago. Pretty big change, right?” she wrote in the post.

Ciru went on to say that she had reached a point where she wouldn’t look at herself in the mirror because of her weight.

“When that pic of me was taken last Dec, I was shaken. I could not understand how I had gotten to that size. Then on top of that, my health had begun to suffer. My joints hurt, and I could not go up a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing. Let’s not even talk about my mental health. My confidence was in the toilet and I hated looking in the mirror,” she wrote.

Ciru said that she started her weight loss journey by making small changes to her diet and exercise routine. She also said that she found support from her friends and family, which helped her stay motivated.

“I am so grateful for the support of my friends and family. They have been there for me every step of the way,” she wrote.

Ciru’s weight loss journey is an inspiration to many people. She shows that it is possible to make healthy changes and achieve your goals.

Ciku Muiruri slams Ciru Muriuki for being a cry baby and using her name for attention

Former radio presenter Ciku Muiruri has attacked Ciru Muriuki for always seeking attention using her name which she can easily avoid.

The Busted host took to social media to post a long post attacking Ciru after fans confused the two yet again raining attacks on Ciru instead of her.

According to the veteran presenter, Ciru could have avoided all this but because she’s always after attention, she keeps encouraging it.

“I did my first radio show in 1998. In my many, many, many, years on radio doing Busted etc I have used my name. On my newspaper columns, I have used my name. On my book #LoveisButADream and all my social media pages, I have used my name. Someone comes onto the scene many, many, many years later, has and uses a name similar to mine and now cries victim every time she is mistaken for me,” she said.

Crying

She went on to add that even after being asked to change her name, Ciru went on to use it.

A boss of ours – Pete Sinclair – actually refused her to use the name during her stint at Radio Africa and said she would be mistaken for me. She had no choice but to listen to him and use her English name. All was well. But alas, she then went on to join NTV where she disregarded his advice and went on use the name. Enter the case of mistaken identity that follows until this very day. And now, I am supposedly the bad guy because I need to watch what I tweet for her sake. Wait, what?
A friend of hers actually went on a morning TV show and said my ‘bad manners’ (??) are affecting her. What the actual hell? That’s the final straw for me. I refuse to be used as a punching bag when you found me here, minding my own business.
If you want your brand to stand out, the first logical step is NOT to ride on someone else’s name and then cry foul when it no longer suits you.

Ciku Muiruri begs women to take advantage of thirsty bosses

Former radio presenter Ciru Muiruri is urging women to ask for more money in offices when dealing with bosses who want a piece of them.

The controversial host took Facebook to claim that sexual harassment at work settings was very rampant, with women being the biggest victims.

“Your wife, daughter, sister or niece is currently being asked for sexual favours in the workplace. Personally, I do not know a woman who has never been subjected to this,” she started.

Figure

She went on to add that if the boss is all over you demanding sex, then you need to give him a figure that will chase him away.

“Never say no, just quote high… He will never afford you. And if he does, take his money and run for the hills. Who says you have to sleep with him?” she went on.

‘This surgery goes some way in alleviating my chronic pain’: BBC’s Ciru Muriuki undergoes surgery

BBC’s and former NTV The Trend host Ciru Muriuki recently underwent an Endometriosis surgery.

Endometriosis is the abnormal growth of cells (endometrial cells) similar to those that form the inside of the uterus, but in a location outside of the uterus.

It can cause pain — sometimes severe — especially during your period. Fertility problems also may develop.

It’s not clear when the vocal presenter underwent for the surgery but she told her fans it was successful.

Recovering

Muriuki shared that she’s recovering after the surgery but she’s fighting with intense pain. Also, another The Trend host, Njambi Koikai, has been fighting with the problem and has spent the last 7 months in Atlanta being treated.

“Currently in post-endometriosis surgery recovery. I’m sore but relieved. Hopefully, this surgery goes some way in alleviating my chronic pain. #endometriosis #endowarrior” said Ciku.

Did TV bosses ‘punish’ Ciru Muriuki for having dread locs? She claims so

Talk about you hairstyle being used against you.

Sometime back, having dread locs was considered a sign that you are a criminal and involved in a lot of ungodly things.

It seems that era has not yet faded completely.

Former NTV The Trend host Ciru Muriuki has come out to hint that her hairstyle was a major reason why she never got better opportunities at Nation Media.

Shave

The TV host, who now works at BBC, claimed that bosses ignored her when it came to promotion and opportunities after they requested her to shave and she rejected.

“I was asked to cut my locs by a boss. I didn’t. Opportunities continued to pass me by at that station. I finally left and now I work at the BBC with my four-year-old UNCUT locs,” Ciru said on social media.

Fans wanted to know which station she was talking about. Some believed it was K24, where she moved after NTV but Ciku said that K24 gave her an opportunity.

“K24 took a chance on me and I’ll be forever grateful to them.” she said.
