Chris the Bass Makes Big Move to Radio Maisha, Shaking Up Morning Radio

Popular presenter Chris the Bass is starting a new chapter! Just a week after leaving Milele FM, Chris has officially joined Radio Maisha’s breakfast show, bringing his talent and energy to a new audience.

This move comes at a crucial time for Radio Maisha. With the departure of Emmanuel Mwashumbe to Radio 47, the station is looking to revamp its morning show and reclaim its dominance in the competitive Swahili radio landscape. Chris’s experience and charisma are expected to be a game-changer, attracting a wider audience and solidifying Radio Maisha’s position.

The competition in the morning Swahili radio scene is fierce. Milele FM features the well-established duo of Francis Luchivya and Wilbroda. Radio Citizen, the current leader according to a 2024 report, boasts Vincent Ateya and Melody Sinzore. Radio Jambo from Radio Africa has the popular Gidi Gidi and Jacob Ghost Mulee, while the new player, Radio 47, counters with Emmanuel Mwashumbe and Alex Mwakideu.

Chris’s radio journey is impressive. Before captivating audiences at Milele FM, he entertained listeners on Pilipili FM (now Msenangu FM) in Mombasa. His talent extends beyond radio, with prior experience as a presenter on K24 TV.

Leaving Milele FM wasn’t easy for Chris. He expressed his gratitude to his former colleagues and listeners on Instagram, acknowledging the end of an era while hinting at exciting new beginnings.
