Businesswoman Cebbie Koks Kokeyo has voiced her frustration over the attacks aimed at CS nominee Soipan Tuya.
In a statement on her social media, Cebbie criticized the difficulty of publicly supporting women who excel in their fields due to harsh online criticism.

“It’s become incredibly challenging to commend women who are breaking barriers. We are attacked as if we’re intruding by supporting them. @hon.soipantuya is more than capable!” Cebbie stated.
She emphasized that women should be valued for their roles in decision-making and not undermined.
“By educating women and including them in key decision-making roles, we acknowledge their capabilities. Soipan Tuya’s background equips her well for the role of Cabinet Secretary for Defense,” Cebbie added. “Her legislative experience, legal knowledge, and leadership skills make her an excellent candidate. Congratulations, and we fully support you!”
Meanwhile, the Maa Women’s Umbrella Network has denounced the disrespectful language targeted at Soipan Tuya on social media.

Angeline Yiamiton Siparo, Chairperson of the network, expressed strong disapproval of the abusive and inappropriate content directed at Tuya, including offensive language, photos, and videos.
“We unequivocally condemn the abuse and disrespect shown towards Soipan Tuya,” Siparo said. She highlighted Tuya’s extensive experience, including her 10 years as Narok County Woman MP, her legal education, and her previous role as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Siparo also emphasized that Tuya’s personal life should remain private and that the online attacks constitute libel and slander. She urged organizations defending women’s rights to support Tuya and condemn the cyberbullying she is facing.
According to Siparo, Tuya is a distinguished leader not only within the Maa community but also on a national level.
