Kenyan digital creator Carrol Sonnie has candidly spoken about the heartache of losing her first pregnancy.
In an emotional conversation with Commentator 254, Carrol reflected on one of the most challenging periods of her life, sharing, “I had actually lost another child before.” The experience, she said, deeply affected her.
Despite not being entirely ready for another pregnancy, Carrol embraced it when it happened, especially after the loss. She explained that her daughter, Keilah, is a “rainbow baby,” a term used for a child born after a previous loss.
“It wasn’t planned. My pregnancy wasn’t planned, but I feel like on the other side it was. When it happened, it didn’t shock me. It was a relief because I had lost one before… I was like, at least nimeweza ku replace kale kenye nilipoteza (I was able to replace the one I lost),” she revealed.
A “rainbow baby” represents hope after a family experiences miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. The term symbolizes the joy that follows a dark and traumatic time.
Carrol also touched on the emotional rollercoaster that often accompanies a rainbow baby, noting that parents may experience a mix of anxiety, grief, guilt, and excitement.
Kenyan actress and social media influencer Carrol Sonnie has recently introduced her new partner, marking a new chapter in her life after a public separation with comedian Mulamwah a few years ago.
In a heartwarming video shared online, Carrol’s boyfriend surprises her with a thoughtful gesture. The video begins with a unique “choice”: he presents her with two options, either the latest iPhone 15 Pro Max or the possibility of welcoming another child.
Carrol playfully chooses a piece of paper, revealing the brand new phone as her “prize.” Her boyfriend then fulfills his promise, taking her to a store to purchase the gift. The video ends with them walking hand-in-hand, embracing, and showcasing the connection and care within their relationship.
Carrol then takes to her Instagram stories and captions the video;
”Hey babe. Watu wamesema wanataka harusi sasa.”
Sonnie had promised not to introduce her boyfriend to the public ever again, citing that people have an evil eye that leads to ending relationships
Break ups are often more ugly when a child is involved and yea we have seen that on social media, our closest friends and some of yall have experienced this first hand. So yea – it’s hard but again time heals all wounds!
Speaking of wounds, Mulamwah this past weekend may have unknowingly proven he is still hurting from his breakup with baby mama; a woman he says he impregnated and waited for her to give birth – just so he can dump her for allegedly playing him when they were dating.
Well, when a man says something like that, youre left with alot of questions…like looking back, was it worth it?
Anyway one year down and im guessing Mulamwah regrets his decisions since he cant access his kid following his ugly breakup with Sonnie. Just to prove hiw bad things are, Mulamwah told off his baby mama in a post aimed at celebrating Keilah’s first birthday where he told Carrol;
Asante lakini mama K kwa kumlea vizuri, just make it easier to co parent akae fiti – lets nit have happy pictures online with sad realities & don’t use the kid as bait for social media likes, validation and monetary gains. Mtoi sio job.
Mama Keilah responds
Well, i guess Mulamwah is just special in his own way (and when i say special, you know wjay i mean) cause damn – who says that? But again – you’d be surprised at the huge number of baby daddies with similar characters like that of Mulamwah…so yea – it may sound biased but most women who have walked this earth have suffered!
Anyway responding to her baby daddy’s claims of using Keilah as strategy to make easy money, Carrol Sonnie told Nicholas Kioko;
Sasa nitamtumiaje mtoto wangu kama kazi. Keilah is a brand, mimi ni brand so we are two brands trying to make life easier for both of us. Lazima tutafute unga.
This comes just hours after Carrol announced daughter to have landed an ambassadorial job with a ceetain store selling kids outfits.
Carol Sonnie is back to making news days after shaving off her locs and putting them up for sale at Sh300,000. Well so far I guess its only fair to say that she has no potential buyer for the locs that is judging from the many complaints from fans asking why they would spend such an amount on hair and not a car or even a startup business.
But again, its social media where 98% of netizens are barely serious about anything. Anyway away from that, Carol Sonnie is slowly opening up about life after her relationship with Mulamwah; and like we said – things haven’t been okay thanks to her breakup.
According to Sonnie, this was the hardest experience of her life that is because she not only got dumped and replaced immediately; she lost a few gigs from clients who didn’t want to get involved in her drama with Mulamwah. Speaking during recent interview the lady said;
I lost so many gigs at that time since most brands do not want to associate with drama
Battling depression
Well apart from that Carrol Sonnie says she was pushed into a dark place foloowing her baby daddy’s false exposes on her. From what she says is that she woud wake uo to insults, mockery comments among other things hence pushing her into postpartum depression a month after her baby was born.
Asked why she couldnt shield herself from the online criticism, Sonnie said;
It was not easy and the only reason I did not quit social media was that I was afraid I would not feed my child.
Adding;
I had to learn to grow a thick skin. I was suicidal because of postpartum depression and other things. My baby was barely a month old then.
However its been almsot one year since she welcomed her daughter; and one thing Carrol Sonnie is happy with is that she never gave up on herself for the sake of her daughter.
So even after Mulamwah pulled his last stunt trying to convince the public that Keilah Oyando is his kid – looks like he is still holding back the child support.
This was indirectly revealed by baby mama, Carrol Sonnie while speaking to journalists during the launch of her charity project in Buruburu aimed at inspiring, nurturing and training single mums.
Well having tasted been dumped by baby daddy immediately after giving birth – looks like Carrol Sonnie not only had to deal with PPD but also had to a nurse a heartbreak.
However judging from how she carried herself on social media after the breakup- we can tell that Mulamwah May have been in this relationship alone – the entire time.
Sonnie as a single mum
With her not showing emotions or acting bothered – seems that baby daddy is also letting her handle everything by herself. Well mostly because she shaved their daughter’s head – knowing very well that Mulamwah’s culture only permits the fellas mother (Keilah’s grandma) to shave off the baby first hair.
So having done that meant the baby is not his. Apart from that we also understand Mulamwah last saw his daughter when she was only 3 months and since then – he’s been pulling disappearing acts on her or has been denied access.
Anyway since this is more a private matter – we can’t really take sides. But with time – they’ll probably have this sorted out.
But until then – Carrol May have to continue raising her baby girl on her own; something she says is tough especially when playing both mummy and daddy.
Speaking about her experience as a single mum, the lady told journalists;
I wouldn’t lie that it is easy, it has been tough. It has not been easy because I have to play both the role of a mother and a father. Even when life is tough I must go out there and look for means to provide for my baby.
Weuh – I guess the Wazee haven’t yet reached to an agreement as to how Mulamwah and Sonnie will have to raise Keilah.
Content creator Carrol Sonnie has unveiled her latest photos and a video shared on her Instagram hoping to push a new project she’s been working on for the past few weeks.
From what we’ve seen is that the project aims at inspiring, nurturing and training single mums. Well, after months of being one – looks like Ms Sonnie is now willing to use her experience to inspire women who’ve been in the same position as hers.
Well – judging from the comments, most of the people felt the new mum should probably spend more time in therapy to work on herself, especially after seeing how bad her relationship with Mulamwah ended. Maybe because a broken person can’t fix another until they themselves are mentally healthy.
Weight loss raising eyebrows
Apart from this, there are those who couldn’t help but notice how petite Carrol Sonnie has since become after giving birth.
Well it’s not like she had a big body to begin with but during her pregnancy and the first few months after birth – we all saw how healthy she looked with a little flesh here and there.
However 7 months down the line and Carrol Sonnie is back to looking like abit too skinny, something that has worried her fans. There are those who openly asked about the weight loss, while others concluded this was a result of the stress she’s been through so far.
Anyway we also can’t forget that this could be her natural body…no? Check out the photos below.
Carrol Sonnie understands the importance of being in a healthy relationship. This is probably because she’s experienced life with a toxic partner and after seeing how bad things can get; the mother of one is not willing to let the same mistake happen to fellow women out here.
For this reason, she recently held a QnA session, giving fans a chance to ask questions they believe she may the perfect answers to. Well apart from the few who reached out to inquire of her past relationship with comedian Mulamwah; there are those who needed help with their relationship.
For instance, one of her fans reached with a question on how to advice a newly married woman facing physical and mental abuse shortly after dowry was paid. The fan wrote;
Please advise this young lady, newly married, after payment of dowry, the guy has started being violent, despite not having been violent before
Carrol turning to a relationship coach
Well, since relationships are personal – there are those who would probably stick around until he changes; but there are those like Sonnie who wouldn’t think twice about leaving.
According to Carrol Sonnie, once a man puts his hands on a woman – he never stops. For this reason her advice to the female facing abuse would be to leave. Leave even if it meant handing over the dowry back to the guy and his family.
Ladies if a man ever gets physical with you, toka kwa hiyo ndoa. It doesn’t matter kama amekununulia dunia mzima. life is more important than anything else
But again, saying it by word of mouth sounds pretty easy; but putting it into actions is often hard for most women. Right?
Carrol Sonnie is not about to let people ruin her image just because they want to create hype for an upcoming music video. No!
The mother of one revealed this recently through a post where she addressed rumors claiming she wrecked Madini Classic’s marriage; and I’m thinking this is after Madini’s wife fueled the rumors by reaching out to popular gossip tabloid looking to ‘expose me Sonnie – whole all along she knew it was a music video.
However having been branded a cheat and an an ungrateful woman by her ex Mulamwah, Sonnie felt Madini Classic and girlfriend dragging her into yet another scandal would ruin her completely. Which is true, and to control this, Carrol Sonnie through her gram wrote;
Don’t be fooled, it’s a music video. It’s really sad how some individuals are taking advantage of all this and trying to tarnish my brand. I’ve been quite but this doesn’t mean I’m stupid.
Back off – Sonnie to artiste and girlfriend
Well since the rumors were sparked by both Madini Classic and his wife/girlfriend; Carrol Sonie decided to address the couple saying;
Hata Kama Ni Kiki this has gotten too far. Wacha heshima idumu na tupige kazi bila makasiriko!!!! To my fans, poleni for the misunderstanding that was brought by the other parties. This is purely work♥️????????. Don’t be played‼️
I could have sworn that Mulamwah was never going to share more details about his baby mama; simply because it isn’t putting food on the table nor is it buying milk for his baby girl.
However barely 48 hours after telling SAUTI TV,
I don’t have any regrets for saying whatever I said. Nilikaa tu chini nikajiita meeting nikaona Hii kuvurutana haitusaidii haitutengenezei pesa, haiundii caro inaundia hawa wasee wenye wanablog, wanaandika mastory
And Mulamwah is back at it and this time around he spoke to SPM buzz news outlet owned by Butita revealing how he remains grateful for the use of social media. According to the comedian, this same platform is the reason his daughter lives today….and if I’m not wrong, this is a hint on the alleged attempt to terminate pregnancy.
Speaking about people who continue to bash him for exposing his personal life on social media, Mulamwah said;
As much as people don’t like the social media use and what happened, it’s that same social media that saved Keilah. Because I posted the fact that she was pregnant when Sonie was how many months…for those who can remember…Around 4 months
Mulamwah on saving daughter’s life
Judging from how he further explained his reasons for wanting the public to know about Carrol’s pregnancy; also proves there is something Mulamwah hasn’t outed yet.
Have you ever asked yourself why? Artiste mgani anaweza post ball na 4 months. Do you know why? Join the dots…That internet is the one that saved her, cause I knew that when everyone knew, there was nowhere it was going.
If you remember well, back in 2020 Mulamwah revealed Carrol Muthoni had lost their three-month-old unborn baby, following stress caused by online trolls. With such a heart wrenching loss, the comedian then shared a video where he was seen burning up his trademark shirt; while announcing that he was quitting comedy following constant trolls on social media.
His the girlfriend Carrol Sonnie spoke about her miscarriage saying;
I remember when I told Mulamwah about the news, and he was just depressed. He couldn’t even control himself. The same happened to me; I broke down every time. Every time I saw a baby, I would cry, it was that bad
But with the new accusations from Mulamwah we can’t help but wonder whether the comedian wrongly blamed netizens for the miscarriage; or was he experiencing character development at first hand but didn’t know?
However what makes it obvious that the man on the photo could be Sonnie’s new bae is the caption she used on the post as she wrote;
Cheers to life
We however cannot confirm whether the man Sonnie flaunted is her new bae; but again, judging from how she’s been handling questions concerning her previous relationship …..one would think she moved on along time ago but never publicized it.
