She started with a disclaimer, “It’s not who you think it is,” and warned that her story would be quite revealing.
“Today’s conversation is about the most foolish, silliest thing you’ve done for love,” she announced.
Beginning her confession, she used a common Kenyan phrase, “Hee, let me tell you, Maina,” to describe a tricky situation.
Initially hesitant, she said, “Let me not even be the first to talk,” but her friends urged her on.
“Disclaimer, whoever you think it is, it’s not,” she reiterated. “We’ve all done crazier things in our past. Don’t be shocked.”
Then she revealed her story: “Have you ever made a kitenge outfit for your mother-in-law?” prompting laughter and curiosity from the other girls.
She continued, “You make your own outfit, then take measurements and have a kitenge made for her too.”
Kitenge is a traditional material popular in Kenya for designing outfits for family gatherings and special occasions.

“I mean, you need to prove a point, right? Not even for my mother,” she said, explaining that the idea was to match outfits and look cute.
Morin Actress, amused, asked what happened to that relationship.
“Let me tell you, I don’t know what got into me. Sometimes I sit down and wonder what was I thinking. I could have made it for my mother, or for the guy, or my dad,” she admitted, expressing her embarrassment.
Dorea Chege reassured her that it’s normal to do such things when in love. “It’s just a way to please the guy,” which Sonie agreed with.
“Maybe, mama’s boy, so you have to hit the ground running,” she added, pointing downwards.
“And yet, I still got dumped,” she concluded her story.
Sonie’s last major confessional moment was in November 2023.
