Boondocks Gang, the group that treated music fans to Rieng in December 2018, is back with another fire jam that I cannot get enough of. You’ll probably feel the same way after listening to it.
Their new single dubbed Ital is their fifth release since they debuted in the local entertainment industry in 2018. Their other songs are Madam, Nirombose, Viral and Rieng which is their biggest song to date.
The group that is made up of Ex Ray, Kid Furnace and Edu Maddox has proven that they are worth their salt with their latest release. Ital, which loosely translates to okay or fine, has been getting massive airplay on local TV and radio stations.
Unlike Rieng, Boondocks Gang’s latest release has a slow tempo which is partly good and partly bad. It’s bad in the sense that the song less danceable and good because you can hear the lyrics word for word.
If you choose to ignore the raunchiness of the words that have been used in the song and focus on the rhymes and flow, you’ll realize that these young men are actually talented.
My favourite line in Ital was by Kid Furnace. There’s a part where he says, “Kitu mi hungoja ni gazeti ya Sunday, collabo next ya Yesu na Ariana Grande, karao mkorino ama kuwa afande, na ni rare sana kunipata sober Sunday.”
The video, which was directed Vikta Daniel, was also not so obscene compared to their previous songs. You might find this hard to believe but there are some scenes where vixens are wearing traditional attires.
