Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, widely known as Jalang’o, has expressed his deep sorrow over the numerous funerals he has recently attended back home.

In a heartfelt post on Saturday, the former radio presenter shared that for the past month, he has been traveling home every weekend to attend funerals.

Jalang’o expressed his exhaustion from the constant mourning, praying to God for a return to days of celebration.

“The past month has been heavy; every weekend, I’ve traveled home for funerals. God, please stop this; bring me back to celebrations. I can’t mourn anymore,” Jalang’o wrote on his Instagram.

These remarks came as he attended the funeral of the late Marrie Black Achieng’, the daughter of actress Nyaboke Moraa and Dr. Blak Aende. The MP offered his condolences to the grieving family, praying for peace and for Marrie’s soul to rest in peace.

“No parent should have to bury their child. Rest well, Marrie. Dr. Black Aende and Nyaboke Moraa, may God grant you peace,” Jalang’o added.

His message was accompanied by an ornament featuring a photo of the late Marrie. The body of Nyaboke Moraa’s daughter was transported from Nairobi to Kisumu on Friday, August 9, with the burial taking place on Saturday, August 10, in Kadongo, Kisumu County.

A memorial service was held at CITAM Church, Embakasi, on Wednesday, where Moraa shared her grief, reflecting on the memories she had with her firstborn before Marrie’s untimely passing on July 28.

“I don’t know how to mourn my child; my heart is broken. My heart is so shattered. We had such good memories,” Moraa said to fellow mourners.

She continued, “I don’t know how to let go of my child. There was a time when I was going through a lot, and she found me broken in my room, telling me, ‘Mum, you are not a bad person, it’s just the people around you who are bad.'”

Marrie Achieng, Nyaboke Moraa’s firstborn, passed away under unknown circumstances on Sunday, July 28.

Actress Gloria Nyaboke Moraa’s ex-partner and businessman Blak Aende has mourned their daughter, Marrie Achieng, who passed away on Sunday.

In a brief and emotional tribute, Blak Aende expressed that he cannot question God’s will, describing Sunday as one of the darkest days of his life.

“It’s a dark day. I can’t question God, I leave everything to Him,” Blak Aende shared on social media.

He later posted another message, indicating his difficult journey home, captioning it “Hardest flight to take,” accompanied by black heart emojis.

On Monday, Nyaboke also mourned her daughter in her first social media post since the tragic event, writing, “Nitaanzia wapi?” which translates to ‘Where will I start from?’

The news of Marrie’s death was announced on Sunday evening by Moraa’s close friend, actress Sandra Dacha.
