Azziad Nasenya was discussed in the Kenyan senate proceedings yesterday for a fascinating reason.
The discussion was regards the use of the now viral social media platform, TikTok that apparently entertained all Toms, Dicks and Harrys to create content.
The Senators were debating about putting efficient laws in place to guard the moral standards of the Kenyan people especially the youth, who are the greatest percentage of users.
Nominated senator from Garissa, Hon Iman Falhad Dikow asked the Senate to investigate the use of the digital platform and whether it was a safe space for the Kenyan community using it, after the application recently faced allegations regards personal data privacy.
Before Nandi County Senator Cherargei referred to the fact that TikTok boomed especially in the country after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, discovering sensational dancers like Azziad Nasenya whose magical moves brought the internet to a standstill following her Utawezana debut.
The politician further urged fellow members that it was important to guard Internet usage locally and especially among the younger generation who fall prey to all sorts of immoral content.
According to him, Kenya was yet to certain standards to protect the dignity of the people and to preserve the African morals. Have a listen:
Senators say Tik Tok, other social media sites should be regulated in Kenya.
The mention saw the internet erupt as tweeps persistently tagged the 20-year old celebrity until she got wind of what was going on. Check out netizens’ reactions:
King Kalala aka female Andrew Kibe is at it again, this time telling the dirt as it is.
During her recent interview on Shoe Game with Azziad, the bubbly lass admitted she was finding it hard to date because it was an almost guarantee she would cheat on her lover.
Kalala confessed she had a weakness of going after what was not hers and she cannot assure anyone she dates, that she’ll be faithful.
Lemme not do that thing where I am coming into a relationship, I’m like “I love you” when in real sense I’ve just come from cheating. I know everyone has their weaknesses and mine is cheating.
Therefore her plans were not anything around dating rather learning how to be in good relationships with people before she can commit to one specific person.
I love flings badly!
The babe has been in several relationships, the most recent with a guy who hurt her so bad and you could tell she was still hurting about it, during the interview.
Surprisingly enough, Kalala said maybe her next relationship would be with a guy or a same sex, a girl – she can’t promise either but she looks forward to a good one.
I want to slowly learn the art of faithfulness. Because when I want it, I really want it!
Kalala’s body count
Sadly, the NRG radio presenter born Prudence Chepkirui Tonui, had lost track of the number of men she had gotten involved with, revealing;
The undated video, which was posted by a Twitter user, shows Azziad dancing with the man who is donning a t-shirt which has her name. Moments later, she plants a kiss on his lips.
The video elicited mixed reactions on social media with many wondering who the man is and if he is the one who has stolen Azziad’s heart.
Others showered the dancing queen with praise saying she is very humble because the video that is doing rounds on social media was taken in a bedsitter.
Azziad rose to fame after she posted a video that showed her dancing to Femi One and Mejja’s Utawezana in April this year.
The 20-year old lass, who studies broadcast journalism at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), has, however, kept her love life away from the public and many didn’t have a clue about who she might be involved with until now.
But then again, Azziad and the unidentified man could just be friends who were had had one too many and were just having a good time.
There is always a first that probably gets sacrificed with a couple of misses from what was expected but it happens and gladly leaves lessons to be learnt.
Netizens could not wait for TikTok sensation, Azziad Nasenya’s new show Shoe Game with Azziad that premiered barely 2 hours ago on YouTube. The basic assumption was that the show would be all about celebrities’ shoe games, inspirations around their looks and especially what they color their feet with.
It would be one of a kind definitely, runned by a dancer turned TV host in a matter of weeks. Plus, being in her early 20s meant audiences would get a different kind of vibe and fans couldn’t wait for it to drop. The show is finally here with us and despite her natural vibe and color, Azziad conspicuously seemed not so prepared for the occasion.
Get me right, she was adorably dressed but the flow of the interview left fans a bit jittery.
The misses
So the show kicked off well, with a good intro of graphics and a brief welcome, until her guest showed up.
Bray Okut aka Tailor 001 was our guest for the day, well established in the fashion industry, but soon as the interview started, fans could notice Azziad was a bit nervous and inaudible in her speech. She was not quite in control of the interview, leaving the guest to jump in or even interview her in her own show.
She would at other times ask a question that wouldn’t add up, forcing her guest to rephrase it then answer in his own terms. There was also a consistent switch between English and Kiswahili during the interview.
Her lack of script or short handwritten piece of paper just to guide her through the interview might have been the cause of it all but well, she did it and apart from the few hiccups, there were couple of pluses.
The pluses
During their intro, a dear Bray flattered Azziad about how beautiful she looks, leaving her smitten but she was quickly able to get herself back together and thereafter thank her guest without seeming flirtatious.
The actress’ natural vibe and personality saw her go with flow and with whatever struck her mind first and decided that was going to be her 24-minute interview.
Azziad’s consistent smile and unrestrained laugh for a better part of the interview lit up the mood, with a make up well put together and we must admit, being her first and own show, that was a good one! Be the judge;
Dancing first means you need to be flexible enough otherwise you get worn-out pretty fast and going by her TikTok videos, Azziad whines her waist so effortlessly I tend to think she forgets that she is actually dancing because it robs her close to zero energy.
The assumption being; her body has already been accustomed to her lifestyle. Well, to confirm this, the petite campus babe decided to parade her edges and tiny waist in a thirst trap swimsuit that left a good layer of her skin exposed.
A photo she captured during her vacation down at Kenya’s coast but which she decided to caption;
Pirates of the caribean????????
Forget whether this photo was taken way before her fame but one thing is for sure, she served her fans some hot sauce that proved hard to let one’s eyes off. Here are some of her fans’ untamed reactions;
Azziad Nasenya has become everybody’s favorite Tiktok dancer and judging from her petite waist; we can understand why most of her fans enjoy watching her whine her waist!
Well apart from dancing, this young lady also turns out to be a good actress giving many a run for their! So far most of her ‘haters’ have called her out after unveiling the huge numbers she will be charging clients looking for exposure through her page.
At 541k followers on Instagram and 1 million followers on TikTok, we cannot blame this young lady for using this business opportunity wisely; especially since it comes once in a lifetime! However, some now view her as delusional for having an expensive rate card.
Away from that we cannot ignore the fact that Azziad also seems to have good taste when it comes to fashion and the few photos shared below will prove this!
I am sure many have noticed that she prefers exposing some skin on her stomach area and since her hips also ‘don’t lie’; you can imagine the number of male species having sleepless nights thanks to the petite lass.
She might also be another Huddah in the making but this time around; at least we know where her money will be coming from.
Azziad Nasenya is one individual we never saw coming, at least not as fast, and now that she’s here, the world is trying to figure a way out.
Yesterday, the dancer-cum-TV show host brought the Internet to a screeching halt after her ´exaggerated´ rate card charges went viral.
Exhibiting figures like 50k-100k for each of her posts on social media, that has left masses with mouths ajar, some questioning her quality, others thinking she is trying too hard but others, could only cheer her on!
Azziad has fortunately learnt to grow the thick skin over time and things like this do not bother her as much like when she was just starting.
Personally, when I heard that I could only burst out in laughter. So brutal, yet so honest and unwelcoming of people’s opinions who think she gets sleepless night because of their trolls.
Azziad Nasenya has broken the glass ceiling to prove she can rise on her own, build her own brand and fix her crown like a Queen.
The barely 20-year old Multimedia University student has taken up multiple TV roles, landed brand endorsement deals, entertainment gigs…you name it! since her star shone in April this year.
Her fame did come with its own fair share of downfalls but that only made her stronger, bouncing back bigger, better and brighter.
So now, the lass is apparently an A-list celebrity or at least on her way there, if her 2020 rate card is anything to go by.
Ever since her debut in the music scene, Azziad Nasenya has rattled the Kenyan entertainment space with her unmatched skills and talent.
Soon after, she became part of the Selina family, no lie, this 20-year old lass is not looking back. This time, bouncing back with her own TV show exclusively for entertainment and set to air across 7 TV stations in Kenya.
New TV show
Dubbed Concert Nyumbani, Azziad will be its host alongside celebrated TV personality Mwaniki Mageria.
“Concert Nyumbani” is produced by Documentary & Reality Television Limited and will be hosted by internet sensation @azz_iad & seasoned television personality @nikimags.
Divulging further details on the same, the show directors Eugene Mbugua and Enos Olik revealed the show is meant to celebrate heroes born out of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the help of the @kenyafilmcommission, I called together a team of some of the most talented people in Kenya to work on a documentary and musical show celebrating heroes who’ve emerged from the corona pandemic.
Adding:
“Concert Nyumbani”, the biggest entertainment television event ever on Kenyan TV will air this Sunday 19/7/2020at 2 p, simultaneously on KTN, NTV, K24, KBC, Switch TV, Metropol TV, Y24, TV47 and PPP TV.
Cook show
Azziad’s star continues shining as she looks forward to host a cooking TV show featuring comedian Mulamwa.
These two recently stirred controversy after stepping out in matching outfits, hardly did we know something had been cooking.
I am sure you know who Azziad Nasenya is. For those who don’t, she is the gorgeous lady who became an overnight sensation after a clip of her dancing and lip syncing to Femi One and Mejja’s jam titled Utawezana went viral.
She was all that Kenyans were talking about for the better part of April. Actually, some people even claim that she is the reason the song became big because she inspired people to participate in the Utawezana challenge.
Most people had assumed that she was just a passing cloud and that Kenyans would forget about her in a matter of days or maybe weeks but she has proven them wrong and continues to do so, day in day out.
Apart from bagging brand endorsement deals left, right and centre, Azziad, who turned 20 a fortnight ago, has also appeared in Rigtone’s jam titled Zoea Mawe which is; currently at 1.1 million views.
But that’s not all. She also landed a role in the Maisha Magic drama Selina and if you thought her dancing skills are dope, then you should see her acting because you will be impressed.
Interestingly, her critics have refused to leave her alone. They just see her as a girl who became famous because she knows how to gyrate her waist not knowing that she was big on Tik Tok long before Utawezana.
What I love most about Azziad is her spirit. If she had listened to naysayers I don’t think she would be where she is today, she would have thrown in the towel a long time ago.
I believe it’s only a matter of time before one of the local TV stations bring her on board and give her a show to host and I can’t wait to hear what her critics will say then.
Azziad Nasenya was introduced to the world, barely aged 19, a young campus girl who broke the glass ceiling to become one of Kenya´s most admired and sought-after dancer.
Well, she just turned 20 years of age but her 19th year was nothing close to what she expected. One that opened the world to her but one that equally saw her get trampled upon by the same world which did not believe in her dream.
A dream she always had since she was a kid – a dream to appear before the TV screens. A dream she might have just achieved through her acting TV role on ´Selina´ but a dream that she feels needs to be pursued more.
Inborn talent
Through her Instagram pages, the 20-year old dashing beauty recalled how back in the days, her primary school teachers had taken note of her inborn talent in the acting industry.
A time she was still young to understand why she had to pursue that path and not something different. But the flame and the dream in her kept burning to date.
Since I was a kid, I have always wanted to be on the screen. This is still the dream that I am working to pursue.
All the way from Primary my teachers were able to spot my talents even before I did and I guess that gave me a lot of psyche and determination to keep on keeping on.
She worked through what others had seen in her that she hadn´t yet. The psych and determination kept her going, never quitting but never admitting that she was any better than everyone else.
The hate
Through her journey, she has encountered a fair share of setbacks. She has been called ´overrated´, ´lacking talent´, ´not up to the fight´ as critics tried every means possible to see her give up on her dream, crumble and disappear in thin air.
I have never been a quitter..not that Iam perfect, no. I am still struggling to find my right path..but one thing I was taught is to always be a fighter…and I believe that has helped me achieve the little success that is coming my way.. ‘She is overrated’, they say, ‘She ain’t talented’, they add. ‘She will wear off’, some pray, and many more that I may not be able to quote…
All this saw her ¨cry herself to sleep…tossing and turning each night asking the Almighty what she had done to deserve all this¨ she said.
¨At only 19 seeking and asking how cruel the world could be against an innocent soul…¨ she continued.
But after several dark days of blaming herself and doubting that she was set for this path, the Queen rose up, wiped off her tears and decided that it was time to work.
…but after several days of darkness and blaming myself and doubt..I wiped the tears and decided that it’s time to work.
Unapologetic comeback
They say it is in failure that we achieve success. So is it in picking up the stones that have been thrown at you and using them to build your Queendom – in this case. That is exactly what happened to Azziad.
Those same words that were thrown my way gave me motivation to work Harder and God Gave me the strength to push even further.
Well, here I am, turning 20 this Tuesday 16th and still living that old dream I had since I was a kid.
As she turns 20 years of age today, Tuesday, June 16, Azziad articulated:
I have not gotten there but my journey just started???????????? Your dreams are valid don’t you ever give up.
Powerful words that I believe don´t need explaining. Words that speak of a lioness who was once bitten but arose amidst pitch darkness, with a light from within, determined to light up the world around her and for those that can´t take it, they can only pack up and leave. Because well, her territory has now been marked.
Azziad Nasenya has become one of Kenya´s most sought-after personalities, barely aged 19 years. Well, it is time to meet the Queen behind Azziad´s existence.
The young actress and content creator hit fame with her dance rendition on Femi One´s Utawezana anthem and life has never been the same again.
Friday, May 29, the dancer took to her social media to appreciate her loving mom as she turned an year older, in a series of photos.
However, it is not even the birthday wishes that bewitched her fans, it is just how unbelievably young Azziad´s mother is. I mean YOUNG!
Let me ask: have you ever randomly met a young girl with her mother – who you mistook for a twin sister or just a sister – and the minute you´re told that´s the mother you´re like, ¨No way. C´mon!¨
That is exactly the position I was in after spotting the singer´s strikingly beautiful young mother. Actually, you´d mistake her for a late 20-year old girl living her life to the fullest.
Plus, I think now I understand when someone says that the body doesn´t age if you consistently engage in sports. I´ll tell you why, Azziad previously revealed her mom was a dancer and therefore molded and supported her daughter in the art as well.
Probably that there explains why Azziad´s mom is aging backwards!
Azziad proudly paraded her mom and captioned:
It’s my mother’s birthday! ????????????
Happy birthday mum. ???????????? Thank you for being my number 1 support. Wish I could celebrate with you today, but this long distance… I love you. ❤❤❤
Let me spare you the lecture.
If ¨aging like fine wine¨ was a person:
Reactions
On the comment section, it was a mixture of shock, laughter and confusion as fans wondered just how long it had taken the Internet sensation to show off her breath-taking young mom.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard of the name Azziad Nasenya, such a lovely name right? Anyway, sorry for digressing.
She’s the gorgeous lass who literally broke the internet after recording a video of herself dancing and singing along to Femi One and Mejja’s latest jam dubbed Utaniweza – which is literally fire by the way.
The video has garnered more than 243,000 views on Instagram and about 734,000 on Tik Tok by the time this piece went up. I don’t know what you make of that but it’s a big deal.
Azziad is also the reason why the real version of the track has been trending at number one on YouTube and hit more than 1.4 million views since she inspired people to start the #UtaniwezaChallenge.
The 19-year old – who studies broadcast journalism at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) – trended top on Twitter for about two days, others have even christened her the Tik Tok Queen and we stan.
Sadly, a few days later things took a bad turn and people started bullying her. Some accused her of bleaching her skin while others had an issue with her physique. Someone also leaked her number online and she started getting strange calls and Whats App messages.
I reached out to her and we had a lengthy conversation about anything and everything, from her new-found fame to her dating life, making money from content creation, being cyber bullied, aspirations and whatnot.
