Popular NTV drama series Auntie Boss comes to an end after 8-year mark in the industry

The popular Kenyan sitcom, Auntie Boss will unfortunately no longer air on our screens following a major announcement.

Moonbeam Kenya, the production team that handled the weekly NTV show broke the news to fans on their Instagram page, announcing It’s a wrap on Auntie Boss”.

This is after 8 solid years of streaming with a total 22 seasons and hundreds of episodes whose rib-cracking yet captivating scenes will forever remain to be remembered for their uniqueness in the industry.

A popular TV comedy-drama series that went on air every Tuesday night on NTV.

The announcement came with tears as fans wondered what was going to become of them especially now when shows like Auntie Boss kept them company and lively amidst a pandemic. So what now?

This is after taking a break in April 2020 reportedly over Covid-19 rules before resuming on Wednesday, June 24. Barely 3 months later, it is now completely gone.

The popular TV comedy series that aired weekly on NTV would tell of the lives of domestic househelps in a local estate and their everyday drama as it revolves around the families they work for and activities within the neighborhood.

Basically a reflection of the relationship majority of househelps have with their bosses here in Kenya. The film featured among Kenya’s outstanding stars including Eve DSouza aka Varshita, Sandra Dacha aka Silprosa, David Opondoe aka Mayweather, Maqbul Mohammed aka Donovan, Nyce Wanjeri aka Shiro, among others.

Former Auntie Boss actress Nice Wanjeri begs fans to stop telling her about her ex-hubby endeavours

Former Auntie Boss actress Nice Wanjeri doesn’t want to know what her ex Tito Wagithimo is doing with his life.

In a video posted on YouTube, Wanjeri, who has a daughter with Tito, confessed that they parted ways but fans have always pointed what Tito is doing.

She maintained that there’s no chance of getting back together with Tito even though co-parenting is hard.

He took it the way he felt good for him. There is a lot to follow about co-parenting, but my request to people is to stop sending me messages of what he is doing with his life,” said Nyce.

Break

The two were in an ugly break up several months ago which left Tito airing their dirty linen online. This made Nyce take a week break from work to let things cool off.

“It was a shock to see him posting what no one knew was happening in our lives,” Nyce said in a YouTube interview.

“I have a daughter that I have been protecting so that when she grows up, she will not be saying her parents were once fighting on social media, so I chose to keep quiet for her.” 

Hiki kischana ni kibaya sana! Shiru of ‘Auntie Boss’ shares ugly encounter with pissed fan 

Comedian Nyce Wanjeri, popularly known to many Kenyans as ‘Shiru’ from the comedy series Auntie Boss might be loved by many but not all.

The comedian recently opened up about an ugly encounter with a fan who wasn’t pleased at all to meet her.

Speaking to Showmax, Nyce narrated how she met the couple, the wife was very excited to meet her while the man was not, a thing that almost erupted into an argument.

“I met a fan, and the wife was so excited like, ‘oh my God ndio haka kale kasichana (this is that lady), you make us happy. Our kids love you’.” she said.

She went on to add that the man was not pleased to met her which annoyed the wife. And when Wanjeri tried to stretch her hand to greet him, he brushed off her hand.

“He kinda reacted differently,” Wanjeri recalled. “He didn’t even say hi to me. The wife was like, ‘ni nini (what is the problem).”

The hubby replied:

“Hiki kischana ni kibaya sana, hafanyangi kazi na unaniambia nimsalimie. Toka hapa! (This lady is not good, she hardly does any work and you’re asking me to greet her, get out of here).” 

Shiro quits Auntie Boss after winning AMVCA award in Nigeria

Popular actress Nyce Wanjeri popularly known as Shiro has quit Auntie Boss barely three weeks after winning prestigious award in Nigeria.

Shiro beat popular names in movie industry in Africa to win the most coveted prize in acting – Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

She won 2018 AMVCA Best Actress in a Comedy(Movie/Series). But now Shiro has announced she is quiting Auntie Boss after three long years.

Making the announcement on social media, Shiro said production company does not want him to appear or engage as the character ‘Shiro’.

First of All, God Ni Msoo! It has been a beautiful period for me and I thank the Almighty for his grace and amazing love! An AMVCA win, another nomination that is NEA Awards, and very many other things I’ll keep sharing with time, have been blessing me recently that I have so much joy I can only say thank you! Also a big thank you to all those who came to watch me on stage recently, coz as my first love, the stage has always had a special place in my heart. ?

Now, for 15 seasons, that is almost 200 episodes on NTV, Auntie Boss has been my home. I have been humbled to work with an amazing production house that is Moonbeam and their very abled selection of cast and crew. I have been blessed and lucky so far, but that beautiful journey that started 3 or so years ago is soon coming to an end.? This coming Tuesday, the 18th of September, will have me on my last fresh episode of Auntie Boss on NTV, lakini repeats zitakuwa Maisha Magic bado. I won’t pretend to not be a little bit sad because Shiro is a character I had personally fallen in love with. ? She was a dear to many Kenyans and the amazing time I’ve spent on set watching the amazing actors and actresses grow are moments I am going to treasure forever! But whatever has a beginning must have an end, and so this chapter of Shiro must come to an end to make way for something else, somewhere else. I promised that I’ll keep entertaining till I have no strength left in me so I will continue in one way or another. We can only thank God that this is happening while we are at the top, with wins and nominations and continental recognition for myself and also the show Auntie Boss na sio kuchoka mmechoka na sisi.? Also, it will not only be my last episode on the show, but the last time you the fans will interact with me as Shiro. Since I am no longer under the show and the production company that owns the show and the character Shiro, I am required to no longer appear or engage as Shiro.

Shiro of Auntie Boss: I cried all night and made sure I slept with the trophy just in case it was a dream

Nyce Wanjeri, popularly known as Shiro of Auntie Boss, was still in disbelief after winning one of the most prestigious awards in the market, the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 2018. She was voted as the best actress in a comedy and series category.

Speaking to the Star newspaper, Wanjeri said that she went prepared for a win but was still in disbelief when it actually happened.

“I went in ready for anything. Win or lose, I was already humbled by the nomination alongside them. But this is where faith comes in. I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll say it again: it is on my knees that most battles are won. I prayed with my family and friends, then let go and let God.” she said.

She also dedicated the award to her mother who died two years ago. Her dad passed on while she was only 11 years old. Her mum has always supported her in everyday possible and she would have been proud after the win.

“If she was around, I’m sure she’d have lost her voice from shouting and crying in celebration of my win. She’d have assembled the entire church community (yes, she was one of those mums) to give thanks in prayer and worship because her prophecy over my life and success would have come true,” Nyce said.

Adding:

“Thank you mum for bringing me up in the right way. If I will ever go astray, I can never blame you. If I would be even half of the woman you were, I would have achieved a lot. Continue resting with the angels, mum,” she said. 

Another win for Kenya! Actress ‘Shiro’ from Auntie Boss scoops major award at the AMVCA 2018

Nyce Wanjeri popularly known as Shiro from Auntie Boss made is the definitely the queen of Comedy. This is after she won the Best actress in Comedy at the African movies choice awards held in Nigeria.

The lady who is known for her cheeky house help role shared the good news through her Instagram page; leaving many proud.

Shiro from Auntie boss opens up about her marriage, child and the struggles she faced before the fame on popular Magazine

Nyce Wanjeri popularly Shiro from Auntie Boss was recently featured on the Parents Magazine where she opened up about her love life, struggles before the money and fame – and some of the challenges she has faced as a young mum.

Speaking during the interview the lady revealed that some days she forced to stay home since she had no job or any other means of making money. But despite everything, together with her husband Titus and daughter they would still believe that God would come through for them. She said;

So hard were the struggles that some days, all we could do as a family was sit at home, join hands and fervently pray to God to intervene.

But after landing the main role for Auntie Boss, Shiro says that her life has changed in many ways and is grateful to have won the hearts of many Kenyans who appreciate her talent.

This was however the first time the lady introduced her family to the world and judging from comments under a photo shared by Parents Magazine on Instagram, some had no idea she was married or even had a child.

Size 8 joins NTV’s Auntie Boss for a new episode

It seems Size 8 is sharpening her acting skills; the gospel songstress has all over sudden developed passion for literary genres.

Size 8 recently launched a YouTube channel chronicling the daily lives of the Murayas – for the first time she has allowed cameras into her private life to show her fans what Linet Munyali does when she’s not on social media.

The flourishing gospel singer has also made a guest appearance on comedy-drama television series Auntie Boss which airs on NTV every Tuesday at 8.20pm.

Eve D’Souza, who is one of the directors and also a main cast on Auntie Boss, announced that Size 8 would feature on the NTV program.
