Singer Josh narrates how KTN producer Merlyne seduced him: She gave me her PIN and asked me to order anything

All relationships have a story and for singer’s Simani Joshua, popularly known as Josh with KTN producer Merlyne Chepchumba, it’s no different.

The two who have been dating for sometime now and have a baby girl together, opened up about they met. In a video posted on social media, the singer revealed that Chepchumba made the move on him, unlike what ladies are known  to do.

“I met Chep at her place of work. Like there was this chic, ambaye alikuwa ananiangalia kama kuna kitu anadai so I thought, why can’t I have her? We start sliding into each other’s DMs before we exchanged numbers,” said Josh.

Reluctant

Josh went on to say that their first date had a happy ending after Chepchumba spoiled her with her debit card.

“She gave me her PIN and asked me to order for whatever I wanted. We did drinks and later, I found myself in South B, at her place, so clearly she chipod me,” Josh recounted.

Chepchumba said that despite her interests, Josh was still reluctant when they first started flirting.

“Josh used to reply my texts only whenever he used to feel like. One day he said he was coming to my place in South B after work. I lied to him that I was staying with my sister after which he went MIA,” said Merlyne.

Flying solo! Josh explains why he parted ways with former music partner Amos

Amos & Josh duo is no longer together, the pop group has been disbanded and the two singers have since gone their separate ways.

Amos and Josh shot to fame during Tusker Project Fame reality show, the duo emerged as the first runners-up in TPF season 6.

They have released several hit song together, the most popular being ‘Baadaye’ featuring Rabbit King Kaka. The two singer experienced major challenges in 2017 and part of 2018 which forced them to take a break from music.

Josh now Manio

Amos and Josh have now decided to go their separate ways, Josh currently goes by the stage name ‘Manio’. The singer explained why Amos and him decided to split.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Maisha, Manio said that it was a mutual agreement for the two of them to go their separate ways. He stress that there is no bad blood between Amos and him.

Manio said that taking a break from music helped them realize their individual potential, so they decided to do things differently individually.

“Hakukua na issues kati yetu, kulikua na issues around the brand Amos and Josh. Kwa sababu tulikua na production deal with the late producer, who I treasure so much, Bruce Odhiambo. Production deal haikua mzuri vile, ilianza kua na shida kidogo, so ikatu slow down. Tuka slow down on releasing music. The most part of 2017 and 2018 we didn’t release music. Kukosa kutoa ngoma inamaanisha hakuna gigs, kama hamna gigs inamaanisha hamna pesa.

“So this situation ni kama pressure ilikuja ika cause vitu vingi sana. As individuals tunagrow differently, tuko different age groups – we are five years apart between me and Amos that is something people don’t know- so kuna expectations za nyumbani. Unaambiwa eh unaoa lini? Unafanya hii mziki, hii mziki itakulisha?

“Such questions; ata wewe mwenyewe unaanza kujiambia wacha nianze kufanya vitu zingine nitafte dough. So we ended up going for other things. I started working with other artists… doing PR for corporate and Amos was shooting videos… Out of it tukaona its good also to allow individual expression. We unajiskia kufanya? Fanya haina shida. Out of what we gather from our individual experiences tunaweza kuja pamoja tukafanya kitu bigger. So it’s not really breaking, mi sioni kama Amos and Josh itawahi break, we have a whole album,”Manio narrated.

Speaking during an interview with Word Is, Amos said he couldn’t reveal whether they are splitting or not. He said that’s a statement that they would have to make together.  Amos is said to be going back to minister as a pastor.

“I cant talk about splitting with Josh because I have been doing music with him and therefore it is good if we can answer that as Amos and Josh and not as an individual. However, I am not planning to be a pastor. I have been a pastor since TPF though it is a wider conversation that I may not explain now. If I was an individual artiste, I would speak and even say if we are splitting or not,” said Josh.

Amos and Josh: Last year we were so broke to the point of missing meals and lacking rent and other basics

Amos and Josh are back in limelight after close to a year of silence. The singing duo have since explained why no one heard from them for the better part of 2017.

Apparently 2017 was a very bad year for Amos and Josh. The pair confessed that they had issues with their production which made them not to release any song.

“2017 was a crazy year for us musically and on a personal level…it was very dark in every aspect, financially, mentally, spiritually etc.. There was alot of pressure around us to change our course of music to fit with what was heavily on the airwaves at that time?. We also had problems with our production deal to the point we didn’t go to studio for months, maybe like half the year,” Amos and Josh wrote.

Broke as Ngiritas in jail

Amos and Josh say they become broke since they weren’t releasing any music and were also having a difficult time getting gigs. The situation almost made them go their separate ways but they finally overcame all challenges and went on to drop their new song ‘Ukojuu’.

“We would be at events and hear people talking smack about us, telling our management how we are waste of time to them etc?… At the same time no shows were coming through and we were so broke to the point of missing meals and lacking rent and other basics?… We got the point of questioning whether we are really doing what we were meant to do hadi tukakosana sisi wenyewe and everyone wanted to go their own way… Maybe AJ would have been no more. But here we are family, still courageous.
All this made us, maturer, stronger and more focused on giving our contribution talent wise and as individuals to our society… #ukojuu was recorded early 2017 but it has never been more profound for us as now.”

“I want my Amos back” cries ex-girlfriend, a young lawyer believed to have cheated on the singer with a wealthy sponsor

The lady behind the controversial Heri Tuachane hit by Amos and Josh has blamed the duo’s manager Ally Ady for their relationship woes.

Cindy, a young lawyer at a leading law firm in Upper Hill, Nairobi, claims that her love for Amos is genuine but his manager keeps filling her boyfriend’s ears with ‘nonsense.

“We have been lovers for such a long time even way before Tusker Project Fame. Throughout those days, I have always taken a back seat even when Amos has publicly denied ever having a girlfriend but now that they are making money, Ally wants me out yet he adds no value to them,” bitter Cindy explained.

However, Ally on the other hand told Heads Up that Cindy is bad company Amos and her frequent antics remain a threat to the duo’s music career.

“We pulled down the “Heri Tuachane” video after a suicide note was found in her room by her parents and we have incurred lots of expenses and lost time due to their individual misunderstanding,” said Ally.
“After consultation with the lady and her parents we have come to an amicable understanding and they have now understood the song/video was NOT directed to her.”

In another statement Amos and Josh had this to say,

As you are aware, we pulled down the “Heri Tuachane” video due to some misunderstanding between Amos and his ex-girlfriend that turned a bit unfriendly and almost tragic. After consultation with the lady and her parents we have come to an amicable understanding and they have now understood the song/video was NOT directed to her. So we are in the process of re-uploading the video as we speak.  All of AJ family should keep calm and expect more great content from us.

This will be the duo’s first album which features collaborations with talented musical icons from East Africa. This fourth video is a sad stage for their once beautiful story of love.

Contrast is Amos and Josh’s debut album that show cases the different phases of love. Just like life, love goes through several stages. It starts with Infatuation, with intense attraction and builds through tests which either go the wrong way or the right way. Along the phases of Love is the happy stage and after, the stage of doubt which tests someone’s trust. Contrast elaborates all this stages in a series of music videos that tell the whole story one after the other.

The series is a musical work of art by the duo Amos and Josh teaming up with Bruce Odhiambo created to invoke different emotions. It documents the story of a young man in love with a girl, and how this infatuation with her sets off a chain of events, gradually revealing a greater web of lies, deceit and regret.

NB:As at now, Amos and Josh have released the first two songs in the series.

Heri Tuachane was Written and Performed by Amos and Josh, produced by Bruce Odhiambo/ Vincent Othieno and the audio recorded and mastered by Johari Cleff Studios/ Bass Cleff Studios New York.

Drama as Amos’s ex-girlfriend of Amos and Josh threatens to commit suicide after they released a video narrating their nasty break up…the duo forced to take down the video from YouTube

What if your nasty break up ended up being your worst nightmare and I mean in it’s literal sense?

That’s the predicament that has befallen the duo Amos and Josh and it’s all courtesy of a relationship Amos once had back in the day.

As most of you are aware, the talented musical duo Amos and Josh have just released HERI TUACHANE video off their debut album titled “Contrast” that showcases the different phases of love. The video show cases the stage of doubts and trust. The girl is caught cheating with a sponsor by Josh who gets to see her walking out of the house with him while seeing him off.

Josh breaks the news to Amos who is away to see a client. Just like any other guy, he breaks down and concludes that their love has ended so he goes back to pick his stuff having called it quits.

Amos

However, Things didn’t go as planned, since the release of the video since it is based on a true love life story for Amos who has received phone calls from His ex-girlfriend who has threatened to commit suicide after watching the video and has also received numerous calls coming from the girl’s parents regarding the content of the music they uploaded. Hence the Dynamic duo has decided that they would pull down the video from Social Platforms.

“The song comes from a very personal experience of Amos love life, and it caused pain and anguish and that is what made us create content around the story, however with the kind of attention that we have received, out of personal respect we choose to remove the video from our YouTube channel to avoid unnecessary issues coming up”

Amos said when I called him up to shed more light on the issue.

Now how crazy is that?

This is the popular church where almost all Kenyan celebrities attend. The pastor is also an ardent fan of Tupac

Right in the heart of Eastlands lays a little gem, a church by the name Life-Pool Chapel that is slowly changing young people’s lives.

And why are we talking about a church on Ghafla you might be tempted to ask?

Well, because Life Pool Chapel is not your ordinary church. First of all its haven for almost all celebrities in Kenya; Amos and Josh,Dj klifftah, Dj smasher, Dj Sean, Cyplez,Ofweneke, Veronica mwaura actor and Idah actor.

Secondly, it’s completely hoodwinked on creating an alternative Christian culture and for that they have been winning souls by a mile. For example, the church has accommodated Amos and Josh as leaders in the worship band and Jasiri Life (before and even after their rise in fame and their choice of subscribing to the Secular Music industry with top charting songs).

And not only that, the duo run a very successful business club that has hosted the likes of Caroline mutuko, Darshan Chandaria, Cytton Executive Edwin Dande and many others who don’t necessarily subscribe to the Christian values or lifestyle and who out rightly confess alternative religious beliefs.

Welly Odendo

The business club is very successful to a point where you can comfortably assume almost every member of the congregation has a running business or is in the works of setting up one; mind you in the heart of Eastlands which is synonymous with pandemonium.

At the helm of the church leadership is Welly Odendo, the bishop who has a very peculiar life story. First of all, he’s an ardent Tupac fan and actually started the church after the Hip-hop legend passed on. He was completely disheartened and thus thought of coming up with a space that’s geared towards giving people a starting point regardless of what you have done.

For that he has attracted myriad celebrities who find a safe space where they can be embraced and given guidance outside the glee of public lights.

And not only celebrities but young professionals as well who are always mesmerized by the man’s ability to switch between an ordinary guy on the street, a corporate honcho and religious buff.
