Amberay recently decided to hold a QnA session on her IG and what we saw from there left me laughing because I could not believe how much drivel was being dispensed and the fact that a lot of women will see what she said and eat it up without question is something that causes me a lot of dismay.

Why you ask? Because it is the type of content that causes insecure people to start doubting the progress they have made in their lives. And yet there is no substance in what was said by this socialite.

Let us scrutinize what she said for all of one minute. She said she sold cereals and matumbo. How does that make you a millionaire? She should have been able to elaborate on the missing step between starting to sell cereals and mutura to her finally earning her first million.

And Amberay’s story is devoid of details. Infact, if we are on the subject, she should be able to also detail the fact that she was previously married to yet another millionaire by the name of Zaheer Jhanda. So again I ask, at which point between her starting to sell cereals and mutura and marrying a millionaire political reject did she make her first millions?

And were tenders involved or did she just find a market that craved her cereals enough to buy in amounts that translated into millions in revenues and sales? And can she detail the inspirational business stratagem that was employed. Hell, she might hold the key to how more youth can be self-sufficient.

But these details will never be forthcoming and do you know why? Because there is nothing to tell. These are hollow stories meant to glean over the fact that she has been a kept woman since we first found out about her.

And you are eating it up and allowing yourself to be made to feel inadequate. Because after all your grinding, your business has gone under with Covid19 after the government decided to lock down the country and not give you social welfare benefits.

Guys, we need to stop acting like these socialites are impressive business geniuses. They are kept women and while there is nothing wrong with that, they should stop trying to sell dreams they themselves have not lived. They should simply teach you how to move ahead in life using their lessons. Amberay, let’s keep things authentic.

Amberay recently had a thing to say about money being sweet and what she said is actually in keeping with the energy of the Swahili rhetoric that “pesa ni sabuni” but for some reason, she has earned the ire of her followers and fans.

What makes this entire situation ironic is that the saying directly translates to “money is soap” and what exactly do you think that means? That it cleans away “madoa doa yote” which to the African psyché also includes alot of our melanin.

This is not Amberay’s fault, it is just a lingering effect of colonialism and us as a people allowing our beauty standards to be set by Western eyes. And we are at fault for that so when we turn to target an ignorant opinion from a goddamn socialite, I have to question our collective intelligence.

You see, Amberay isn’t known for her blistering intellect nor her biting wit. She isn’t known for her accomplishments, she is famous because she has a big booty and a body that fuels many randy men’s fantasies.

Why then would anything she says either alarm or concern you? The only reason for this is because we for some reason have decided that because she is an “influencer” on Instagram, we should pay attention to her bimbo opinions.

Amberay simply made a tongue in cheek post about the fact that she is light-skinned and she feels her complexion is better than that of darker-skinned individuals because their complexion underlies poverty.

She has a right to say whatever she likes no matter how ignorant but we also have the right to ignore her ignorant statements. Why then is your girlfriend upset? Is it because she is dark-skinned and she herself feels this makes her unattractive?

Or is it because she is convinced that given the chance, you would leave her for Amberay? Because the truth is, if none of these statements ring true, then she would be as unbothered as a feminist is by reason and logic.

At the end of the day, Amberay shared an opinion. She got lambasted by her followers but in truth, only hit dogs holler. If you know you’re dark-skinned and beautiful, if you know that melanin is not a respecter of wealth and you know that melanin is not infact a terrible thing then why are your panties in a bunch?

Amberay has been the focus of alot of societal ire over the past few days with a lot of people attacking her for source of income and her unrepentance over dating married men (is that what we call being a mistress?) and potentially ruining homes and wrecking marriages.

What is, however, hilarious is the fact that people who call her out and try to be nasty get met with an unfazed and blase response from someone who is not ashamed of her choices. Whether or not you agree with Amberay, it is safe to say she doesn’t care nor does she spend sleepless nights trying to come to terms with what society thinks.

You see, Amberay has gotten the brunt of some of the most disgusting insults and diatribe from women whose husbands have cheated or who were left high and dry when their partners decided to go with “the other woman”. As a result of this hurt, they focus the brunt of their disgust and hurt at her. Alot of women are trying to punish her in the stead of that one woman who lured their husbands away. And so they focus the worst and most venomous of their attacks on little (she is borderline fat actually) Amberay.

And none of this fazes her. If anything, she has come to accept who she is and you cannot use the fact that she has decided to use her body to attract rich men whom she then uses them to pay her rent and all other sorts of nonsense (if the internet is to be believed). Anyway, Amberay is a breath of fresh air in the world of socialites, slay queens and actual normal girls who satisfy their hypergamy.

You see, in my view, she is no different from Huddah and Vera Sidika (only that she didn’t abort her mistake) and she doesn’t gallivant the globe seeking out different men. She isn’t that much different from your run of the mill socialites who seek out wealthy/ rich married men but she has the intelligence to maintain them. She has the intelligence to understand what these men are looking for and keep them enthralled to her beauty and her thunder thighs. And she is very typical of Kenyan girls and women who seek out men who satisfy their hypergamous need. Amberay even goes as far as to thank God for the ability granted her to know what these men need, meet the right ones and then keep them for some time as they clear her bills (probably not all of her bills but you get my point).

But as I said at the end of the day you should find it hard to hate on her because she isn’t a hypocrite. She is who she is and makes no excuses for that fact. Amberay is simply a case of “what you see is what you get”. this in and of itself is kind of endearing when you think about it. Plus ladies, at least you know if your husband drives a Prado or some other SUV and her name pops up in his text messages, you need to tighten up and hit the gym.

Amberay and Huddah are two examples of socialites who have grown to accept their circumstances and have become the envy of many a Kenyan woman who views being a socialite as the epitome of celebrity.

And you get this sense from a quick peek at their social media where the comments are from both thirsty men and little girls who have convinced themselves that being a socialite is the life they want to lead.

But what many women do not know or are unwilling to accept, these socialites are the reception rather than the norm as most Kenyan female celebrities and socialites are heaped in debt and the only thing of value they have are their iPhones. By the way, why are all socialites usually equipped with top of the line iPhones? That is a mystery for another day.

Anyway, how can Amberay and Huddah possibly afford to live their very opulent lifestyles? We shall start with a quick gander at Huddah’s case. It really isn’t too hard to come to a conclusion on how she manages to lead her lifestyle. She has a cosmetics brand that pushes lipstick which from what I gather moves rather fast.

Aside from the Huddah lippie stuff, she has always been dogged by certain unsavoury rumours about Dubai but I am only going to focus on what is verifiable and that is the fact that her company moves product like Drake breaks music records and she is currently in Dubai too. So perhaps this is a case of her diversifying her revenue streams.

The case of Amberay, however, is a rather interesting one. It is one in which she successfully mated with a high net worth individual and even though he was rumoured to have been married, she didn’t let that fact stop her from going after what or who she wanted and she got him. As a result, she was married to Zaheer Jhanda and the man takes care of not only her son but her aswell.

And really that is how socialites can afford their lifestyles; by either starting a side business even if that means flying out to Dubai which is a problem because like Corazon Kwamboka found out people especially your parents do not want to find out their bundle of joy was raised to become a Dubai gallivanting trollop so perhaps your next safe bet would be for you to seek out a high net worth men. Problem is, they are usually old and look like an armpit with a nose and eyes.

To keep it entirely honest, no woman with a nine-to-five job is out here running on these social media streets and attempting to flex on the gram and the watuz simply because when you have to earn that dime you really aren’t about to blow it especially when you know how painful it is to pay those bills. AND for any businesswoman, the taxman and he is always watching to see whom he can catch out in a fiscal lie.
