Senate Committee Visits DCI National Forensic Lab To Learn About Its Role In Shakahola Probe

A Senate Ad hoc committee on Wednesday visited the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) National Forensic Laboratory to learn about its role in the ongoing Shakahola probe.

The committee, led by Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana, was given a comprehensive tour of the laboratory by its Director of Forensics, Johnstone Mwongela.

During the tour, the committee was taken through the functions of the laboratory and how it has supported the Shakahola investigation. This included a detailed explanation of the laboratory’s various sections, which have played a crucial role in unravelling the intricate details surrounding the case.

Present during the tour were several prominent DCI figures, including Director Legal Amos Omuga, Director Homicide Martin Nyuguto, and Deputy Director of Intelligence Bureau Paul Wachira.

The committee expressed their appreciation for the pivotal role that the laboratory plays in solving crimes scientifically. They lauded the experts based at the laboratory for executing their responsibilities with the utmost professionalism.
