Sanaipei Tande Shares What She Would Never Do On Set

Sanaipei Tande has opened up about the boundaries she maintains in her acting career, revealing certain things she would never agree to do on screen.

Speaking in an interview with Buzz Central, Tande explained that some people tend to associate actors too closely with their on-screen characters, which can influence how they are treated in real life.

“I won’t kiss on the lips, I will not imply sex if that’s what is required… I will not do LGBTQ roles despite being neutral about it. I will also not do nudity,” she stated, emphasizing that these actions cross her personal limits.

She added that, while acting is about embodying different roles, some audiences become deeply engrossed in a character, leading to misplaced judgment.

“My personality does not allow me to do certain things. Some people believe taking on such roles is necessary for career growth, but for me, that would be crossing the line,” she said.

Role in Kash Money

Tande is currently part of the cast of Kash Money, where she plays the role of a socialite wife. Speaking in a past interview with TUKO, she shared that the challenge of playing a character who speaks entirely in English drew her to the role.

“I was intrigued by the role because I had never played a socialite wife before. It was also a challenge since most of the shows I’ve done were a mix of English and Kiswahili. Having to speak pure English took some getting used to. Additionally, working alongside cast members I’ve known for years made keeping a straight face difficult,” she revealed.

Exit from Kina

In February 2023, Tande announced her departure from the TV series Kina, where she played the role of Nana. Many speculated that she was quitting acting altogether, prompting her to clarify the decision.

“For accuracy, I chose to leave due to exhaustion and the need for rest. Because of the nature of the show, it was necessary to find a replacement to ensure continuity for the audience,” she explained.

She expressed gratitude to her fans for their support, adding, “I thoroughly enjoyed my time as ‘The Great Nana Mandi Tandala’ and all aspects of this phenomenal character. I will surely miss it.”
