Ronoh Vows to Buy a Car After Terrifying Boda Boda Experience

“We listen, we don’t laugh,” Ronoh cautioned her followers before diving into a harrowing experience that has now motivated her to purchase a car.

The 24-year-old content creator recounted how, on a recent afternoon, she opted to take a boda boda for efficiency and affordability, given the rising cost of transportation. Injecting humor into her story, she added, “Also, these riders have families to feed—I can’t just let them suffer.”

However, things took a turn when she realized the boda boda rider had been drinking. Despite the strong smell of alcohol on his breath, she decided to proceed with the ride, reasoning that she had never been in an accident before, even when transported by intoxicated riders.

“I didn’t really care because I was running late. I thought, ‘Maybe he knows what he’s doing.’ Spoiler: he didn’t,” she narrated.

As they navigated the heavy traffic on Waiyaki Way, Ronoh noticed the rider recklessly competing with cars, making her increasingly uneasy. At that moment, she was holding her laptop, phone, headphones, and a beverage—completely unprepared for what was about to happen.

While attempting a turn, a car hooted to warn the rider, but before he could react, they were hit. “We fell in slow motion. I felt every second of that fall,” she described. Her head ended up next to a Prado, while her belongings scattered across the road. Pedestrians and motorists alike stopped to watch, but no one stepped in to help.

Drenched in embarrassment, Ronoh silently picked up her things as the rider attempted to shift blame. “He came up to me saying, ‘This guy hit me,’ and I just told him to be quiet. There’s peace in silence—just take me to my destination,” she recounted.

Surprisingly, she got back on the bike, completed her journey, and simply dismissed the rider’s explanations upon arrival.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Ronoh declared that she was done with unpredictable transport situations. “This suffering ends this year. No more negotiating with Uber drivers—I’m buying a car!”
