Rema Dissapointed After Technical Hitch In Carolina Festival, Walks Away From Stage
Nigerian singer Rema made a dramatic exit during his set at the Dreamville 2024 Festival in North Carolina. The incident, captured on video, has gone viral.
The two-day festival, held on April 6th and 7th, boasted a star-studded lineup including J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Monica, and Muni Long. Rema joined these heavyweights on the second day, but his performance of his hit song “Calm Down” was cut short by technical difficulties.
Frustrated by what he called “a lot of sound issues,” Rema addressed the crowd directly. He expressed his disappointment, highlighting the impact on his performance and the importance of fair treatment for all artists.
“This is messing up my entire performance, I don’t feel good at all,” he said. “This is messed up. I’m representing Africa, this is unacceptable. If the sound can’t be the same for every artist… Africa is here, and you’re messing things up? I’m outta here, fix it!”
Additional footage shows Rema reiterating his concerns before leaving the stage with a message of appreciation for his fans.
